Hoshi Sushi is one of my favorite places to get all you can eat sushi in Long Island. It's definitely worth the long drive to stone brook because for $31.99, you get all you can eat sushi with a HUGEE variety of selections that include my favorites: salmon, tuna, squid, ikura, tobiko, surf clam, and my favorite: seared salmon!!! Finding a place with all you can eat seared salmon is a dream because it is absolutely delectable. The fish is so fresh and they are pretty generous with the portions. I always get the hot tea to pair well with my sushi. The service is very prompt and fast so you never have to wait too long for the food. The hot food bar is also pretty decent with their fried calamari and beef teriyaki, which tastes great. The only problem I have is that I wish the ice cream was all you can eat too, because their green tea ice cream is soo good and the servers never let us get more than one scoop per person.

I didn't know Hoshi Sushi was all you can eat. Now I know what AYCE means. They were super packed but we didn't have to wait long since it was just the two of us. We don't really care for all you can eat so we ordered from the regular menu. The sushi sashimi combo came with a soup and salad. The edamame was served cold, I'm not used to that. I wish the tuna was better, it was a little too stringy for my liking.

3 of us went for lunch today and arrived shortly before 2 p.m. Thankfully, I looked online ahead of time, as our original plan was to go for 3 p.m., and they would have been closed (different than what we have at some of our spots in MA and CT with them open throughout). The place has two distinct dining areas, one with regular tables and chairs, and the other one with long benches in what looked like mini rooms (at first, I thought it was for KBBQ). We were seated immediately. As a fair warning, the tables are relatively close together, so it was a bit of a tight squeeze. Make sure you like the people you're dining with. Ha ha! The lighting was dim with one large window streaming in, letting some light through, even with how foggy it was outside. We opted for the AYCE option. $28.99 per adult ($14.99 for children) for Tuesday - Thursday all day. Again, a slight difference from most of the AYCE places in MA and CT, where lunch is one price and supper another. We had the pick of food from 2 menus: one for kitchen items, including dessert, and the other for sushi items. We ordered a good mix of appetizers, soups, salads, sashimi, and specialty rolls on the first round (picture of the menu with our order). (Since I'm only allowed 140 characters for the caption...) On the large plate, from Top to Bottom and Left to Right, we had Volcano Roll, Special White Tuna Sashimi, Yankee Roll, Mackerel Sashimi, Seared Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Avocado Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Double Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Phoenix Roll. For the 2nd round, we opted for only a couple of specialty rolls (Diamond Roll and Captain Roll) more of the seared salmon sashimi, another salmon mango salad, and another beef negimaki appetizer. For dessert, we ordered ice cream and one fried banana. Each person is allowed 2 scoops of ice cream. The fried banana is cut into slices and served with chocolate syrup and whipped cream on top (I missed a pic for this). All of the food was fresh (my partner actually has now rated this higher than our favorite AYCE spots back home), tasty, and had a gorgeous presentation. I read one review complaining about the rolls having too much rice. I disagree. The fish/filling-to-rice ratio was spot on. My only comment would be a request to have more sauce for the Agedashi tofu appetizer. Our servers were incredibly attentive, refilling drinks, delivering the food, removing empty platters, and checking on us throughout the meal. Not only do we plan on returning in the near future but also bringing my preteen, who loves sushi, too.

OK spot for AYCE sushi out in Long Island. Came here with family friends to have a late lunch. We made reservations, so were seated right away. It wasn't necessary though since the place wasn't really packed. For the price, the quality of the food was alright. The rolls were good, but felt like there was a lot of rice. The sashimi and sushi were fresh. The appetizers were good as well. The servers were nice and helpful, but the way they served everything was a little annoying. The appetizers came out quick in separate dishes, but everything else took forever. I was getting so impatient because everyone was so hungry. Turns out, they literally put your entire order onto one giant plate and then bring it out. Some people may like it and maybe the restaurant was just trying to save washing dishes, but I personally preferred if they brought each dish out as they were done being made. Why keep it sitting out when it's ready to be enjoyed? Overall, Hoshi Sushi is a decent spot to go to, but I wouldn't say that it is my favorite.

Good rolls. They tasted good and we ordered a wide variety. Miss soup was good. Avocado salad was iceberg lettuce, a tomato and Avocado, basic but decent. Firecracker shrimp was okay. They cut the shrimp small so you really get fried tempura with a sauce, the shrimp is barely there. The fried banana was okay, nothing extraordinary. Mera's Tip: enjoy the rolls

Great price for all you can eat with plenty of options! They also have plenty of non-sushi meals from the kitchen on the all you can eat menu, not just appetizers like some other AYCE places around. The servers were on top of taking empty plates, refilling water, & taking our menu selections quickly. Seating is available at the sushi bar, regular tables and chairs, or wooden booths in the back. I am giving 4 stars because the sushi is good, but not the best you will find on Long Island. I had the Haru Maki and Miso Soup to start, both were good... the soup could use more toppings but I enjoyed the broth. My friend had a Kani Salad & some Tempura Sweet Potato, she loved both of them. We ordered 2 rolls each to share. I ordered the Fried Island Roll & the Mango Hawaii Roll, my friend had the Yankee Roll & Captain Roll. I liked all of them except for the Yankee, but I don't like cream cheese in sushi. We got a 2nd round which was another Mango Hawaii, Sex on the Beach, and Phoenix, all of which i loved. My favorite for the night was the Sex on the Beach roll. The fish was fresh, my friend who usually orders vegetable or California rolls actually enjoyed the raw salmon & tuna! The only disappointment for me was that they ran out of green tea ice cream becore we had a chance to order desert, but i was so full I didn't really need it. My friend almost didn't want to go because we could not find the AYCE menu online, so I took pictures so others don't have the same problem.

The best all you can eat sushi in Suffolk County! From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, we were left impressed by our dining experience. Look no further for great sushi in an excellent ambient environment. Food 5/5: AYCE is $25 per person. It is totally worth it especially if you have an appetite. We tried as many things as could and can guarantee there is something for everyone at this location. The options expand past sushi and can also include noodles, fried tofu, and dumplings. I would even recommend it for vegetarians as there are plenty of rolls that do not contain fish. Service 4/5: very attentive staff who made sure we had a great dining experience. My only qualm with the service was that we noticed our table felt sticky, so we got the feeling that it wasn't cleaned properly beforehand. There was zero wait time for a table, however we also came on a Wednesday night, so I can imagine it's much busier on the weekends. Ambience 5/5: loved eating here. It felt really authentic especially with the tables that make you feel like you're low to the ground. Definitely coming back for more AYCE Parking is plentiful

    Funky table

The step in tables in the back were funky as hell but I was into it. The menu comes with a warning: Any wasted food will be charged, which I found to be odd, because let's be honest, that's what we Americans do. All you can eat for $30 well worth it. Everything we ordered was very good. Place was busy and the wait staff was attentive.

Everything I could had hoped for based off of the photos in variety and more! The atmosphere was amazing they had up to date music that truly allowed for an even better eating experience. and if your lucky enough to be served by grace your experience will be beyond delightful with her bright smile and great service! Not to forget to mention the sushi is not skimp and they don't overload the rolls with too much rice you get what you see truly an amazing experience I will be back!

Came with friends and had a great time! Good service and good food. We'd love to come back.

Service: Good. They were attentive and polite. It was not very busy when I went in, so it wasn't too bad from my prospective. They offer an ACYE menu or you can go a la carte. Food: I've had better. There was too much rice on the sushi, no flavor to the shrimp tempura, and not a good biting portion for the sashimi. I would suggest going to Bethpage for AYCE sushi (Masa)

Let's start with the good. We went on a full Saturday night. Our waitress and waiter, despite their…read moreeerily "The Menu-esque" mannerisms, were very friendly. The waiter very enthusiastically brought me a perfectly chilled beer and a perfectly chilled glass. I dug that. The Tokyo White beer was delicious. One of the best beers I've had. Our waitress did - on at least two occasions - tell us the chef recommends that we eat the dish faster and immediately after it is placed in front of us. To her credit, she said it in the nicest possible way and we obliged. Now let's talk about the food. The first course was an oyster. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The second course was some sort of Tataki. It was also pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The third course was some sort of seaweed salad. It was pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi (you might be starting to recognize a pattern). The fourth course I don't fully remember the name of. It did NOT taste like eel sauce and wasabi. It was a warm dish, temperature wise. It kind of tasted like a thick seafood/corn chowder, but it wasn't a soup and it has a shredded consistency. It was alright. The next course was what they described as some sort of chef specialty soup that had to "cook for hours and hours".. It was miso soup. It was good miso soup. As good as any $4 miso soup I've had at any good, local, non-Omakase sushi restaurant. Was it better? No. And it was served in a plastic cup. It really should've been served in some sort of a stone or ceramic cup/bowl. I don't even eat out of plastic in my own home when I'm throwing together a quick $10 meal. There may have been one more starter course- but if there was, it certainly wasn't memorable. Now we're onto the "main course" dishes. This might be the fault of my own ignorance, that I expected the dishes to be very unique and make us "oooh and ahhh". But the next five courses are just single pieces of sushi roll. The staff and the chef would show us pictures of the fish and the chef would hold up the actual fish they were using- as well as showing us the JFK shipping label to confirm that it had been flown in recently. I believe you! But these next five dishes are where the immeasurable disappointment really kicks in. Each single roll was from a different type of fish- and I'm sure it was some of the highest quality, freshest fish they could source. Unfortunately, every single piece tasted exactly the same. This is not hyperbole or an exaggeration- all five of the next courses tasted exactly the same- like an average sushi place roll but with eel sauce SATURATED rice and a big glob of wasabi. That was the only flavor profile- eel sauce and wasabi. Some of them were seared with a torch. The ones that were seared with the torch had a slightly different flavor profile- the torched ones tasted like eel sauce, wasabi and butane from the torch! Again, this is not hyperbole or exaggeration- the main course sushi rolls from this high-end Japanese restaurant all tasted exactly the same. If I had bought those rolls at a regular sushi restaurant for $20 per six pieces I would've been disappointed. It's just not good. It's boring. All you can taste is soy sauce, eel sauce, wasabi, and butane.. I truly felt like they were playing a joke on us- seeing how pretentious they could act while serving us beyond overpriced and mediocre food and watch us all eat it up both figuratively and literally. Every single $15 roll I've had from Sushi Ichi or Mt Sinai Sushi (two other local Japanese restaurants) is preferable to what they're serving at Sora Omakase. We had the option of adding on a single piece Wagyu beef roll for $30. Thankfully, I didn't fall for it. I'm sure it would've tasted like eel sauce, wasabi, and butane. Now let's move on to the last course. They called it a "dessert" - but it's another salty fish dish of some sort. I don't fully remember what it was, but I do remember that there was a little piece of plastic on top of it. So I have to awkwardly ask the chef if this piece of, what I clearly know is plastic garbage that shouldn't have made its way to my plate, is edible.. the chef feigns a language barrier and pretends like he doesn't know what I'm saying. He tells me that it's seed garnish. I say "no not the garnish- I'm asking what this little piece of plastic is" and pointed it out to him. He says " oh that's paper" and he plucks it off my dish before I had a chance to take a picture of it. I didn't expect them to give me money back or even remake it- but they barely acknowledged it and didn't even apologize for the mistake. I couldn't help but I think about the waitress, reminding me that the chef recommends eating each dish immediately for the best culinary experience. Well, I have a suggestion for the chef- for the best possible culinary experience - I recommend you make sure you don't serve a customer plastic garbage.

The cauliflower was in a tempura batter which was light and crispy and the sauce was more sweet then spicy but had a nice flavor. After my friend arrived we ordered the pork dumplings, which were tasty but nothing special. Eventually we moved to the dinning room. The menu is extensive with many hot dishes and sushi selections. There is a $29 price fixe that includes soup or salad, a small plate or dim sum, a kitchen entree and dessert with no restrictions off the full menu. Quite a bargain. We both got the wonton soup, which was ok but could have been hotter in temperature.
