Found Hot 2 Cold on Yelp while searching for AC repair for my broken AC unit. Since I was looking for a relatively quick response/repair and my house was temp was in the 90s I wanted a company that would have a quick turnaround but also maintain quality workmanship and professionalism. I contacted Air Masters because I had used them previously and really had no issues despite their terrible reputation on Yelp. They came out and diagnosed the issue. A power outage had blown through the capacitor and fan motor which caused the overheating that damaged my compressor. The bottom line was I was going to need replacements if I didn't want to keep watering my motor and hoping my compressor lasted a while. The repairs would've cost me over 60% of a new unit so I decided on a new unit completely. I contacted Hot 2 Cold for a second opinion and Wayne was literally going to leave the gym before work to go directly to my house and look at the AC and get me an estimate, luckily his technician Jason was available to do it instead. Meanwhile I was directed to leave my information with Bobbi Jo, their receptionist, who was super nice and answered every question I had for her and also took care of all the permits necessary for the following inspection by the county. I decided not to choose Air Masters because they have a terrible rep on Yelp even though I've never had an issue, however I can't trust a company that didn't pull permits on their new installs and I wasn't going to risk that on an expensive fix like this. Not even an hour later Wayne had his crew at my house with new system in its entirety, air handler and all ready to work. Jason and Kyle busted their asses the entire day installing the system; they were very knowledgeable and friendly. They showed me the unit, the install, everything they had to do before and after, making sure it was operational fully before leaving. They only took one 15 minute break to get some food from the corner store (which I would've bought them lunch had I not been preoccupied with work stuff) and then they were back in the sweltering heat finishing up. Bang up job by the entire crew, they even registered my unit for me giving me the 10 year warranty/1 yr labor. Appointments are not appointments with Hot2Cold. I was not happy with this company. They caused me to take a day off of work for nothing. After scheduling and appointment for a time between 12:00 and 3:40pm, we received an email reminder the day prior and an email the morning of stating that the technician was on his way. I took off work in order to make this appointment but the technician never arrived. When I called at 3:30pm, it was explained that they would not come for the service because they could not contact me by phone prior. It was further explained that it is a company policy that the technicians do not come to the service location without a confirmation call. This requirement policy was never explained while making the appointment on the phone or in any of the emails and was not expected or planned for. If they had I could have made sure they had my number on file instead of my spouses. When I called at 3:30, which was prior to the end of the service window I was told that they could not come today because it was too late and the technician was at another job. The only thing they would do is schedule an "appointment" for another day. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

My husband and I are not originally from the Tampa area so we couldn't rely on family or friends to recommend someone to look at our AC. After a bad experience with another AC company I went to YELP to find a company with good reviews. (Should have done this in the first place). People seemed to really like Hot2Cold and now I know why. I called Hot2Cold in the morning and they were able to give me an evening appointment that same day. I spent some time asking for recommendations, researching and reading reviews; based on this I decided to go with Hot 2 Cold and they didn't disappoint. They gave me a scheduled window letting me know when the tech was going to arrive, right before he arrived I got a text with a short mini bio of the tech along with a picture which immediately made me feel comfortable knowing who was coming into my house. James arrived promptly at the scheduled time, was professional, clean (wore booties in the house) and explained every step in the process, telling me how much it was going to cost before he started. Better than One Hour Air Conditioning for sure! Called at 152pm on Saturday (Memorial Day weekend) with 4 kids and 2 dogs in house and house temp got up to 88 degrees! They arrived at 748pm. Technician was pleasant and quick! Got it back working in less than an hour. They are my new AC folks! Not 5 stars cause they told me 4pm, then 6pm, and I had to call to get status, nobody called me to inform me. Other than that I had no complaints. read more

They exceeded beyond and above to an A/C problem that I had in my house. I had a coil leak and my service requested was answered extremely fast. I placed my request at 11:58pm for next day for 10am; received an email confirmation with the time requested. They showed up on time and prior that I received a text message with the ETA time on my cell phone. After arrival; They found my coil problem in less than 15 minutes they even located the part need it in other city and gave me a same day appointment to complete and repair my A/C problem later that day. My AC wasn't working. I called them at 7:50 am on a Saturday. They we at our house by 10:30am! The guy that showed up was extremely nice and professional. He did a process of elimination. He determined that they would have to get up into the attic area to see what was going on. He had his associate come out right away to help him. They found the issue, fixed it, cleaned up, and put a process in place to help prevent the same issue happening again. They were awesome. If I need my AC serviced or fixed, I am for sure using them. Called Hot 2 Cold approx 615pm, within 30 mins John rings my door bell (WoW). He quickly advised me of several reasons why my AC was not cooling. I promply took his advice and replaced all my ceiling filters allowing the system to breathe better along with allowing system to defrost.. We called Hot2Cold after a horrible experience with another company. We moved in to our new house and were told that we had to replace our entire unit. I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time and we didn't do our research and allowed that company to replace our unit. Well, a couple of days after the install, we noticed that unit wasn't cooling to lower than 76 degrees during the day. The owner told us it was due to it being so hot outside and that it was impossible to cool a home to lower than 76 during the summer. I've never heard of such a load of crap in my life. The unit literally ran all day and night and they couldn't figure out or explain why it wouldn't cool our home during the day. About a week later, we came to our senses, demanded they remove the unit and give us a full refund, and we called Hot2Cold to bring us a bring new unit. They offered us a better quality, higher ton unit for $3k less. It was installed that same day and has worked perfect ever since. They called me several times to make sure I was happy with the unit and even came to look at it to make sure it was running as efficiently as possible. We will never use another air conditioning company to help us with any problems we have in the future. read more

I was going to hold off this review, but after my experience I had to write this to warn others. Firstly, these reviews on here for them can come from family and friends so I dont trust it. So anyhow, I called them to come check my ac. John came out late in the evening after 6pm and checked it. He diagnosed the problem. He called Wayne first and then got a quote for the repair. It was about 2500$. I was shocked because although I know nothing about AC units, there is youtube and the internet to guide me. Anyhow when I said what other option I had, John suggested, at Wayne's telling, that I should replace my unit which was 5500$ job. Again I found that suspicious. John left and I googled. I contact another guy and called a few places. Not only was my AC unit repairable but the cost was less than half the 2500$ quote Wayne gave. The parts were only $800 and Wayne was quoting me 2500$. I am disgusted at this work ethic. John does know his work. But he is obligated by his crooked employer so I can only complain about wayne. This company is bogus. Look around. do your research. check other people. Never again will I be calling Hot2Cold. read more

Decided to sell our house and needed to install new unit so we checked around for what companies had the best reviews Hot 2 Cold was one of the top rated, called and had them come out to give an estimate and plan for install at the end of the week. After a couple bumps and having to call them to correct them they literally came out everyday until it was fixed perfectly! (Mind you this was all over a holiday weekend) In the end they ended up having to install a bigger unit. The technician Jason came every time we called and did absolutely everything he could to fix the issue. He was great! (Even with our annoying pups stalking him every time he came). Wayne also called every time to make sure we were happy with everything. All of this on a tight timeline do to an open house and scheduled showings, they did everything to meet our time crunch! I would definitely recommend Hot 2 Cold. Our air conditioner was making funny noises and didn't seem to be working. I called a little after 7am and reached the owner. He was great, and sent outJason. He was here within a couple of hours. They let me know it was the blower motor and quoted me a price. After Jason came back with the motor he realized he needed another part.
