I ordered some pumpernickel bagels. I got a light colored bagel. Now,I've eaten many a pumpernickel bagel in my life, and this was too light to be a pumpernickel bagel. The staff insisted that it was pumpernickel. I was a bit rushed so I bought it anyway. It was rye, which accounts for the color discrepancy. I may go back and try some other bagels. Then again, my local bagel shop knows the difference between a pumpernickel bagel, an onion bagel and rye, so maybe I won't. read more

Don't get the local hype. I feel like people from the area that claim this place must not try other area bagels. My real issue is how gross the place is inside. I haven't been in a while. I recently moved to the area and have been getting bagels here ever since. I've tried other bagels in Verona but the ones here are the best. They are consistently great bagels: good chew, good color, not burnt (as I normally get everything bagels, burnt garlic can be an issue, but hasn't been here). It's not a big shop and can easily get crowded, but it's usually pretty efficient as they have a bunch of people working taking/making orders. Their sandwiches are good (whether bacon & egg, Taylor ham & egg, cream cheese and lox), they have a good selection of bagel "flavors" (including Egg Everything) as well as some specialty bagels (Super Cheddar and French Toast) which are also pretty good. I've also seen some reviews about "bad service" but honestly I've never had a problem. People are nice and efficient, and I get great bagels. I will be coming back for a long time. read more

Placed on order yesterday for a dozen bagels (including 2 everything flagels) to be ready for 9 am this morning. The online ordering was seamless and easy. OMG these bagels are delicious and they still give a bakers dozen. I when there a couple of days ago and wa pleasantly surprised by the variety of bagels from plain all the way up to rainbow mini and bialys as well as specialty bagels. A friend of mine recommended me to this place. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a pumpernickel bagel and it was very good. Made the way I like it. Crispy bacon, melted cheese and holding together and not breaking apart some some others. I also decided to get an everything bagel with a schmear of plain cream cheese. There are many other bagel places in the area, and Bagelwich doesn't stack up. First things first. I hate when I walk into an established and the person behind the counter yells "next" at the top of their lungs. Well gad damn are we in the middle of the fish market? I think not. The place is so small if I held hands with two strangers we could touch wall to wall. That was just me going off on a small tangeent. I was really hoping to like this place since it is not that far away from my job. But unfortunately, it was a let down. When I walked in it was not really busy so I didn't think that it would take that long to get a BLT and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. When I got back to work and opened my BLT there was way more lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich that there was bacon. The bagel spot to go to in Verona, there is parking in front for curbside pickup but if you want there's a parking behind the the bagel shop so you can just walk around the corner and they accept cash/credit. If I was rating the bagels and breakfast sandwiches at this place it would have been an easy 5. The bagels are perfect with a nice exterior and a chewy inside. The everything bagel is always my go to and I love that it has seasoning on both sides of the bagel. Sandwiches are also made really well. I go with a basic egg and cheese and it's great. Where they lose stars is the chaos that is inside. It doesn't matter if you call it in, order online or order in person the order is never ready. Everyone is always on the move and polite (i think it's almost natural for them to apologize for the wait as they hand orders) and helping. I also don't think they are understaffed but rather there is no system. Once orders are complete half of them just sit on the counter until someone asks for it again in which case they go around checking all the names. There is definitely room to improve here. I ordered online and went to pick it up 20 mins later, they hadn't started my order and it took another 40 min inside. I guess people like me keep coming back so there isn't a need for improvement? If you go on a weekend expect to be standing outside in line and be waiting a long time. The chaos is just maddening. I especially feel bad for Doordashers and other delivery services who are there picking up multiple orders. It is to no fault of the delivery drivers when they are waiting on orders for so long but ultimately it will effect their tip and rating. I really wish management would see and try to create a better workflow. They have potential to provide great service. read more

My first impression was that this place definitely held up to the standard of my old bagel spot. The breakfast sandwiches are tasty and the bagels are really good.
