every time im in town, i always (or atleast try to) make tacos el may a stop during my stay…read more unfortunately, my last few attempts to come have been stopped by the ceasing of their operations in their original location by abc market, but luckily i stalk their instagram obsessively so i came to this location instead after realizing it was still pretty near. it's tucked away onto the off-street, and it's easy to miss, but once you find it you'll never miss it again. anyway, despite the difference in location and ambiance, the food was still absolutely delicious and everything that i've remembered it to be. they explained the lack of a line -- and in fact.. any customers at all due to their hidden location due to the police shutting them down at their original location. takeaway: their original location got shut down, new location a little hidden, but food is delicious as it's always been. writing this review so more people know of their new spot. p.s: follow the instagram!!!!

The plaza is closed by the time the truck sets up shop here - so plenty of parking. Prices are fair - I was able to get Nachos with Brisket as my choice of meat. Same row of self-serve toppings including their yummy pickled cucumbers, onions & cilantro, and your choice of three salsas (I like the avocado one, which is mildly spicy). My nachos came in a sturdy container - with layers and layers of crunchy, fresh nacho chips. Topped with delicious nacho cheese, and a TON of brisket. Well worth the $10. I normally get a burrito, but wanted something less messy this time around. Everything is made to order - so expect a short wait after you order. I felt bad because I was the only one here, but if you follow their Instagram, the vendor will let you know whether Bolsa/Magnolia is open or not, or reroute you to here (Beach & 11th Street). I was told that the truck has a greater likelihood of being open simply because they don't have people trying to shut them down like they do over at their Bolsa/Magnolia stand. Hoping to see more people show up. It felt a bit sketch (sorry neighborhood people!) chilling in that parking lot by myself so I just wrapped my food up and drove home. I came in with my son and asked if sugar could be put on only one side of my corn dog. This is something I've requested at multiple Myungrang locations before and have never had an issue with. The employee taking my order told me that if I wanted sugar, it had to go on the entire corn dog. I simply explained that the Buena Park location, as well as other locations I've visited, have been able to put it on only one side. For whatever reason, he immediately put his hand down and told me, "You need to calm down." I was genuinely shocked because there was absolutely nothing for me to "calm down" about. I wasn't arguing, raising an issue, or being disrespectful. I was literally just explaining my order. I have also been heavily congested recently, which has affected my hearing on one side, so I may have been speaking louder than I realized. But at no point was I angry or aggressive toward him. He then started commenting that I "looked" or "seemed" upset. I explained that I wasn't upset at all and was simply trying to order. The interaction became even stranger when he actually came out from behind the counter onto the customer side and stood there staring at me. I had to ask him what he was doing and why he was making a scene out of a completely normal order. When I told him that in the future he shouldn't tell a customer to "calm down" when they haven't done anything, his response was, "Don't tell me what to say." After I finished ordering and sat down with my son, he came over to our table, handed me a bottle of water, and said something along the lines of, "You seem like you need something to drink." Given everything that had just happened, it did not come across as a kind gesture it felt patronizing. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching him then walk over to other counters in the food court and appear to discuss the situation with other employees/vendors. Whether or not they knew the full story, it was incredibly unprofessional and made an already uncomfortable interaction feel even more embarrassing and unnecessary. Then our food came out. Ironically, my son's corn dog had sugar on only one side (exactly what I had originally requested) while mine had no sugar at all. Instead, he put sugar in a separate container. I told him, "Sir, I don't want it on the side. I wanted it on one side of the corn dog." He rolled his eyes, laughed, and acted as though my request was somehow unreasonable or burdensome. Even asking for sauces became another unnecessarily defensive interaction. We ordered two corn dogs, and when I asked for sauces, he immediately responded that he could only give one sauce per corn dog. Again, that policy itself was not the issue it was the attitude and defensiveness surrounding every basic request. And unfortunately, after all of that, the food itself was disappointing too. My corn dog tasted awful. The oil tasted stale or old, and there was a very unpleasant flavor that honestly reminded me of gasoline or fuel. I've had Myungrang plenty of times before, so this stood out immediately. That is really the point of this review. If this particular location has different policies from other Myungrang locations, that is completely fine. All he had to say was, "Sorry, we aren't able to do that here." Instead, a simple request turned into being told to calm down, having assumptions made about my demeanor, having an employee come around the counter toward me, being spoken to dismissively, having my request incorrectly prepared anyway, being laughed at and eye-rolled when I corrected it, and then watching the situation seemingly be discussed with other vendors around the food court. There was absolutely no reason for the interaction to escalate to that level. This is also a brand-new H Mart/location that is still establishing itself in the area, which makes this kind of customer service even more surprising. You would think a new business would want customers to leave feeling welcomed and wanting to return...not embarrassed or uncomfortable over something as simple as ordering a corn dog. I've had perfectly normal experiences at every other Myungrang location I've visited, including much busier locations. Unfortunately, between the way I was treated and the poor quality of the food, this experience was enough to make me seriously reconsider returning to this particular one. Management really needs to address both the customer service and food quality at this location. There is a huge difference between saying "we can't accommodate that request" and making a customer feel mocked or singled out for asking.

We ordered an al pastor torta and an asada burrito, and unfortunately it was one of the worst meals we've had in a long time. Neither the burrito nor the torta was cut in half, which made them difficult to eat. As soon as I picked up the torta, the meat and toppings started falling out everywhere. The biggest disappointment was the food itself. The flavor was practically nonexistent. The rice was completely bland, and the asada was chewy, fatty, and low quality. The al pastor wasn't any better--it lacked flavor and was underwhelming. Overall, the quality of the food was far below average. It was so disappointing that neither of us even finished our food. My fiancée couldn't finish her burrito, and I ended up leaving most of the torta as well. To make matters worse, the prices don't match the quality at all. For what we paid, we expected much better food. It simply wasn't worth the money. We were really looking forward to trying this place, but based on this experience, we won't be coming back.
