Holy shoot this place was so good!! And the people who work there are incredibly kind. We brought a group of vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores, and everyone was satisfied with their big and delicious gyros. The falafel is vegan and the gyro was packed with filling, and the hot sauce on the side was a great addition. My friend wasn't going to order anything, but then the chef made him something anyways. Not a ton of seating on the inside - maybe 4 or 5 tables? But it'll definitely be nice to sit outside in the summer. I'll definitely be back here! New road trip stop when I'm heading up north. read more

Quick, friendly and plentiful food. Small dining area inside. The crew was attentive and checked on us during our meal, showing they cared about the quality and service. My wife had the beef & lamb gyro and I had the beef & lamb shawarma plate; both had a lot of good food. loved the shawarma hummus and the pita bread was spot-on! We ate inside and it was cold. Outstanding! Mount Vernon needs this place soooo bad! Flavor for miles, respectable prices, warm, knowledgeable service, scratch-made Mediterranean with heart. What a fun neighborhood place. We had the chicken shawarma plate, the lamb and beef shawarma plate, the lentil soup (Oh. My. Goodness. Best ever! Think avgolemono, but light and lentil and sumac and parsley spiced - a cup of this will keep you alive, an inch from death. He needs to patent this...). And the baba ganoush- homemade, drizzled in olive oil and hard to stop eating. Make sure you order extra pita! A lively, lovely experience. Don't miss this! I got the beef and lamb kebab plate. It came with salad, rice, hummus, and tzatziki sauce and a pita. The kebabs tasted ok but were not very juicy. They had a ton of garlic in them. The hummus was fine but the rice was too mushy. The overall taste was decent but I didn't find it authentic. read more

The food here is amazing, I want to personally thank the amazing owner for reaching out personally to me about the last time I visited. He assured me that he was saddened by my last experience with the waitress that treated me badly and how it wouldn't happen again. I am beyond grateful for the owner and the majority of the staff there for genuinely welcoming me like family. Service: it was okay--not great, and not terrible Ambiance: small place with about four tables crammed together. Order at the counter and good luck getting a seat. We took ours to go. Stopped through Hot Gyros for lunch earlier today with some friends. It's a pretty cozy restaurant, only a handful of seats. The restaurant was absolutely spotless, and the staff was very kind / welcoming. I had the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, and it was phenomenal. We ordered the beef and lamb pita (delicious huge, tons of meat), and a sandwich meal that came with a pita, Greek salad, and fries that we upgraded to Greek fries. It was a TON of food - we could easily have shared just the sandwich meal and both been full. This is a great takeaway option, but they do have a few small tables if you prefer to dine in. Very friendly staff welcome you in. A greek style menu with a little more spice. This place is hopping. Very small inside, maybe seats for 15?, so you are better off planning to eat outside or take it home. It is not unusual for them to run out of food, so if you come in later the menu may be reduced. HIghlites of the menu for me are the Gyros, especially the Beef & Lamb, the Arabic Shawarma sandwich, and, if you aren't going back to work, a side of the Greek Fries laced with Feta and Garlic. This is a really small thing I like: a soda is $1.95. I can't tell you how many places charge up to $5 for a can of pop. These guys keep it real. (And there is a free water canister there also.) I really enjoyed the banter with the staff and the taste of the food. Do yourself a favor and check out this place. read more

Very good customer service with attentive employees with good attitudes. I got the chicken Schwarma plate and it was absolutely delicious. The food comes out at a good hot temperature. After noticing the restaurant's huge number of five-star Google reviews, we decided to give it a try out of curiosity. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and the food came out quickly. We ordered their signature beef and lamb gyro along with the Greek fries. We were hungry enough that we forgot to take photos, but the portions were surprisingly generous. The Greek fries were packed with flavor, and the garlic sauce was rich and tasty. The gyro itself was solid, though fairly comparable to other gyro spots we've tried before. The only downside was that the garlic sauce was extremely salty--we found ourselves drinking water for the rest of the afternoon after lunch. Service was efficient and the food was satisfying overall, but the excessive saltiness kept this experience from being a five-star visit for us. read more

After multiple friends raved about this place I had to try! I ordered the lamb gyro and garlic fries and OMG! So insanely good!! The lamb was tender and packed with fresh veggies. The fries were so perfectly crispy and loaded with garlic! I chatted with the owner and he's super friendly (funny too) and the rest of the staff was very sweet and helpful. The falafel was the best I've ever had and I've had my share fair of falafel. Super crisp outside and the inside was moist, tender, and honestly, bites of heaven. 10/10 recommend! We each had the chicken Shawarma plate, so much chicken we each took half home with us. Super flavorful and tender. Delish! I want to preface with I'm extremely picky about my Mediterranean food because many places are greasy and don't make it right. NOT this place! The food and service were amazing! Large portions, lots of meat on the gyros, vegetables were crisp and fresh, just the right amount of sauce, and it was NOT greasy at all! If you're a major Mediterranean restaurant fan, you may not feel impressed. Service was amazing! Very sweet and welcoming people. Cute little shop with outdoor seating. I occasionally wondered to myself: Why does Mount Vernon lack a solid Mediterranean restaurant? Well folks, after several decades a really good one arrived. It's a winner. The chef & staff are a cohesive group. If smiling is contagious that's the first impression. The restaurant itself is cozy. Ladies, bring a jacket if it's cold outside as being a smaller establishment means the air temp will drop quickly as the door to the entrance is opened. The food itself is a generous portion of delicious Mediterranean go to items. I had the Lamb/Beef Gyro. It was awesome. My partner had the lamb Shwarma which was equally terrific. Friendly staff. Our server was prompt and made excellent recommendations. I got the crispy tacos (YUM) and my husband got the enchiladas with the green sauce, the sauce was to die for! Will definitely keep this place in mind when we are back up in the area.

It was sweet with a little tart aftertaste. For my meal I opted for the Porterhouse Cheese Curds as an appetizer and the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries for my main dish. The cheese curds were nicely battered and fried and the housemade ranch was a nice accompaniment to the cheese curds. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich was only crispy on the outside where the batter was applied! The rest of the chicken was tender and juicy. So tasty . I didn't think the sandwich was all that spicy, but that would be my fault because I eat jalapeno like candy and routinely use habanero hot sauce on my food. Even though I didn't think it was all that spicy I did enjoy the flavor and crunch of the sandwich. There was a bunch of steak fries served with my sandwich. Excellent fries, but way too many for me to eat them all. I think I probably ate only 1/4 of them!! I was very tempted to order a slice of the chocolate cheesecake with housemade fudge for dessert, but I was stuffed by my appetizer and meal.

Nonetheless, we waited probably 20 minutes in the entry. They called our name and seated us. They have a lot of tables set up throughout their space. I see there is seating upstairs but not sure when/if they seat up there. Their restrooms are now gender neutral and one toilet. That's nice! There was a changing table in the one I visited. The server came around within about five minutes and when we ordered our food, It took about another 20 to 25 minutes. I had time to shop the whole adjacent store, make a purchase and still waited awhile for our food. This is always a period of time that feels like it takes forever because by now you're starving and have looked at all of their sweets in the display case while in the waiting area and smelled all the cinnamon scented candles and the food being prepared in the kitchen. My Linda's brother-in-law scramble was delicious. I opted for the bacon sprinkled. It didn't seem like 4 dollars worth of bacon and there's plenty of flavor in that scramble otherwise. $23.54 with the bacon sprinkles. My hubby had the country biscuits and gravy, and he said it was good. $17.79. My husband did mention that he was disappointed that the country biscuit and gravy didn't automatically come with their breakfast potatoes. You have to choose- eggs OR potatoes. He ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, and it was a small bowl. $6.50. We shared the French toast and took most of that to go as well as some of the hash. $14.99. It was plain. We both had water to drink and had to ask for a refill. That all came up to $68.47 plus tip. The receipt says, "If you pay cash, your total may be rounded per this location's payment policy." I didn't see what that policy says.

While you're waiting you can go to the shop down the stairs or go to the dessert area right next to the waiting area to get some great desserts. Last time i was there I saw frosted cream cheese sugar cookies, and pies, and more. When you get seated there are so many great food options, lots of options, same with drinks. They are only open until 3:30 pm so be sure to manage time well. And don't expect an empty place, it's usually populated. Tight space, so scoot in those chairs as far as you can. Staff were laid back, and nice. When they're busy make sure to be patient with the staff, they're dealing with tons of other orders as well.

Delighted to find "Hot Gyros" a New Delicious restaurant in Mt Vernon. Nice variety of choices chicken, lamb, beef all prepared in a clean, modern kitchen. We Loved the flavor and freshness of our chicken kabob plate. The staff is warm and welcoming, and fun. Hubby and I both had ghly recommend. Karim and his staff were all so friendly, engaging and pleasant. I got the lamb and beef gyro, my friend got the chicken shawarma, we also got some falafel and all the food was excellent. The portions were large as well... we ate half and took the rest to go! definitely an awesome experience and I'm sad I live far away as we came up for pigs on the wings animal show. BEST SPOT EVER! We stopped here as a pit spot on our way up to see family in Canada and are completely blown away with the service and food quality. You can tell the food is made with heart and passion and the staff here love what they do. Our 19 month old completely devoured the food. We're so happy that we found this place by accident. This place was a very special experience, the food was amazing and the hospitality was the best we've experienced here in Skagit. Mediterranean food was a very underrepresented cuisine here and we basically ran to go try it when we saw it on the map. We stumbled on this hidden gem after a morning at the Tulip Fields. Upon arrival we were waited on by the owner/operator who was friendly and welcoming. The food (as well as the service) was beyond wonderful, the best Greek food I have ever eaten. Even though this eatery is out of the way of our regular travels north this will be a regular detour.
