Just a quick review of my first visit to a Hot Heads restaurant ever - overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked my steak bowl, especially given the lukewarm reviews of this location. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the portions were "outrageously" generous! I also liked the fact that there wasn't a price difference between chicken and steak, which is something I don't like about Chipotle, their closest competitor. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star review is because the veggies were a bit too oily (the bowl leaked juices into the bag!), the corn salsa a bit "squishy," and that some items (like cilantro and pineapple) were essentially out of stock. Being unfamiliar with the area, my coworker and I stopped by here in lieu of Chipotle. First off, great play call by myself. Both of our second times here, but it's been a couple of years. They seemed to be a little under staffed during their lunch rush, but my order came out just as ordered. The girl working the register was very kind and walked around to each table after cashing out the people in line to apologize on the wait. I didn't mind the extra 3 minute extra wait. Customer service was A+. I ordered the spicy chicken bowl with their signature hot head sauce and loaded up with the good stuff, ya know. The combination of hot head sauce and queso over the spicy chicken and rice was a great way to warm up on a cold wintery day. Hot Heads is closer than chipotle so I like to stop in here and get my burrito fix if I'm in a hurry and don't have time to go somewhere authentic. If you're used to chipotle this is pretty much the same, except with a much wider variety of ingredients. There are more veggies, cheeses, types of salsas, sauces, and ways to prepare the item than anywhere else. Very quick and easy process in making your burrito or bowl or tacos. They even have a few pre designed ones you can pick from that are usually good. read more

The only reason i come here is for the spicy sauce. They always make my burritos extremely tiny. Maybe 300 calories worth. All of the employees are ALWAYS new and don't know what they're doing. I have to ask them to make my burrito as big as its supposed to be and they still make it as small as the "lil burrito" option. read more

11 out of the 12 times I've gone here, the people working here were unfit for customer service. I could tolerate that if the stuff was taco bell priced, but for Chipotle prices, you have to either play that organic food game or pretend to be friendly. Stopped for lunch by default because sushi restaurant next door was not offering outside seating. Well we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh and delicious food. The young man behind the counter was so enthusiastic and helpful while waiting on us! He was extremely proud of the guac that he makes every morning and he should because it was delicious! Sundays is 2 for 12 which is what drew us in. The staff was friendly and explained the menu offerings. I picked a veggie bowl and took the recommended sweet sauce with it. The fajita veggies were fresh and had a nice grilled taste. The brown rice with the bowl was perfectly cooked. My husband had the steak burrito, he opted for no sauce which he regretted. The buritto fillings were rather bland, my guess is the bland flavor is by design so as to not interfere with the sauces. Came in on opening night. Was pretty busy, but the food is good. Love the sauce choices, and the queso is great. Portion sizes are good and the food and toppings were fresh. I recently visited Hot Head for lunch. Past experiences have been good but this one was terrible. I arrived around 1p after the lunch rush. The employee waiting on me was fanning herself with the container for my burrito, i hope it was just hot back there and not feverish. The chicken was so dry it was difficult to chew. As i was eating the restaurant started to fill with a smell like the cooking vents were not working. It will be th last time for a long while. read more

Overall I would say my experience was poor. This was the first time I had ever been in hothead burrito , and unfamiliar with how the ordering style works. At first glance it seems like a subway style ordering. I ordered two chicken quesadillas, The guy proceeds to put one scoop of chicken in the center, on the large quesadillas size tortilla, then he proceeds to slide past all options of vegetables and any other ingredients never asking if I wanted anything else so I assume that no other toppings go want to quesadilla. Then he goes to the next stage where all he does is put on cheese and then another girl puts on a crazy amount of cheese. Keep in mind all of this is in the center of the "quesadilla", no seasonings or sauces. Just chicken and cheese. Then they proceed to fold the quesadilla like TacoBell's crunch wrap. And I seen them wrap the burrito of the old man in front of me into a softball? And he asked for a container and for it not to be wrapped, and the ignored him completely. Stopped here for the first time today, didn't previously look at the menu prior to walking in which I should have done. I got a bowl with spicy chicken and all the toppings (corn, sour cream, lettuce etc) I didn't enjoy the spicy sauce, it was more like a thick marinade then a traditional sauce. My daughter got a lil burrito and threw almost all of it away. The flavored just seem to be very bland, and not seasoned very well. Although I do like their veggies more since they have zucchini and squash, not just onions and peppers. I do like that they have an option for a smaller size bowl which provides more than enough food for lunch or dinner. Your journey always begins the minute you walk in the door and each employee welcomes you to Hot Head burritos! The food line is incredible- you get to choose everything and all the employees give you recommendations along the way. The only thing better than the service and courteous staff is the food itself. I generally get the same meat and toppings, but do change things up every so often- each bite is better than the last. I recommend the barbacola beef (sp) meat. It has a great spice to it. We went to Hartville Marketplace today and on the way home stop at this little burrito spot. There were five of us and they have group pricing. We got the four pack: 4 burritos or bowls 4 medium drinks 2 chips & salsa 6 soft chocolate chip cookies. I had the shredded pork with white and brown rice, black and pinto beans, fajita, Cholula & straight habanero. The pork was tender, fajita and salsa had a nice char flavor and the habanero sauce was hot but didn't linger. Service was street food style(chipotle) but they check on us table side. The restaurant was relatively clean for as busy as they were which was a surprise on Independence Day. I'd recommend a visit if you happen by. I love Hothead and grab a salad there just about every week. Tonight I go in to get our usual chicken salads and after I order the girl behind the counter asks if this is for carryout and I tell her yes. She turns to another employee and asks how many take out lids they have and is told three. She then turns to me and says, "We are out of lettuce." Why in the world would she ask if it was carryout if she couldn't even make it? I told her never mind and left. But then realized the restaurant is right next door to Acme, who I am pretty sure sells lettuce! I am sure there is some corporate policy that doesn't allow them to buy from the store next door, but are they really willing to lose business over it? Call another Hothead and see if they can float you a loan for now. Figure it out and service your customers. read more

Hot heads makes some of the best quesadilla that I've had. There is just something about them I love! I have not tried any other meal there but I look forward to trying it in the future. Have you ever thought to yourself, "I need pineapples on this burrito"? Well, you should. I have been frequenting this location for several months, and one evening several months ago, I was unsure of what I wanted to eat. Since I'm always up for trying something different, I asked the burrito man what I should have. I think he had been waiting all day for someone to ask because he told me that I was getting a quesadilla and then started selling me on every topping that he felt I should have. Both kinds of shredded cheese? Yes, in his world, this is what people eat. When we got to the pineapples, he asked me if I wanted them. When I told him that I had never tried them on a burrito, he assured me that these would change my life. Because he was even more enthusiastic about selling me pineapples than he was any other ingredient, I felt I had no choice but to trust him. After my first bite, I knew that I could never eat a quesadilla any other way. The spice and salt of the meat and cheese was offset by the sweetness of the pineapple. Do you know what happened on January 18th, 1778? Captain James Cook discovered Hawaii. Do you know what Hawaii has? Pineapples. Hot Head Burrito should make every January 18th "Captain James Cook" day and hang a picture of him in their restaurants. Every picture I've seen of him clearly portrays the look of a man who has eaten many pineapples and is longing for people to discover them just like he discovered them over 200 years ago. I don't know the name of the burrito man who changed my life, and I may never know. I like to think that he is a distant relative of Captain Cook, and when he's not working at Hot Head Burrito, he is hanging out on his galleon. Somewhat off topic, Hot Head Burrito has a fantastic gluten-free menu. My wife has Celiac and has to be very careful of the food she eats. When the staff at Hot Head Burrito hears she has a food allergy, they change their gloves and utensils without being asked. My wife gets treated like a fad dieter at a lot of places when she asks about gluten-free options, so when a restaurant treats her like a person who is only eating that way because she has to, I will give that restaurant my business (pineapples or no) as much as I can. Almost every time we go to the "other" burrito place that I won't name (but you can spell E-coli by using some of the letters in its one-word business name), asking them to change their gloves and utensils is like asking them to properly clean the entire restaurant so people don't get sick. read more

Killer burritos and burrito bowls. Huge portions of great tasting meat, rice, cheese, and other goodies. My go to is usually Chipotle but they have been getting so stingy with the meat portions across the company in the last year or so. I love it when I have to travel here to work for a bit because I can always depend on a great meal here at a good price with a friendly staff. Keep it up guys! read more

Cashier did a poor job communicating this. Apparently there are only 3 words in her vocabulary: chips, cookies, drinks. They do have a decent amount of sauces. Probably their attempt to cover up the fact that their food is COLD and BLAND. Would be nice if the variety sauces were help-yourself, instead of part of the conveyer belt behind the food counter. My first time here will most likely be my last. The food is very bland. I ordered a chicken burrito and a side of nachos with queso($2 extra). The queso was extremely bland and just lacked spices or any flavor other than mild cheese, also it was very soupy and runny. There are plenty of options to add sauces but options such as queso, guacamole and extra meat add several dollars to the price of the burrito. The service was good and the staff was friendly but the food is very low quality and flavorless for the amount that it costs. Overall I was disappointed.
