Ordered here for the first time just tonight. I remember when they first opened and just never got around to trying it. This is good-tasting pizza. Sauce is one of the better sauces I've had in Hoboken and the crust was thin and crunchy towards the crust. Cheese was a good portion, and slightly salty which is the way I like. Not too greasy. 4 out of 5 because the large pie is definitely on the smaller side compared to other spots in town. Overall I will be ordering from here again, and consider it very good pizza. read more

Sneaky one of the best pizza places in Hoboken! Underrated wings (buffalo & bbq) and the pepperoni slice is very solid (both traditional and sicilian) Think their specialty slices could improve a little, but if you're looking for traditional wings and pizza, this is your spot. read more

What a hidden gem - in a way it feels like the old combined with the new. Something about hot house feels old school in the best possible way. The setup is a garage type room with a massive door either open or closed depending on weather. You get a simple, tasty slice. It's affordable and if you get it delivered, arrives promptly. A spacious patio in Hoboken is a coveted treasure. When that patio comes with delicious pizza and sandwiches and BYOB, you can't beat it. This place is very reasonably priced, has a ton of seating (a patio in the back and a few tables in front as well), and yummy food. Last time I stopped in, I got the 606 wrap: fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, chicken, arugula, and balsamic vinegar. I got a wheat wrap and they may have toasted it a littleeeee too much but it was still an amazing sandwich. Love love love that it is BYOB. It's the perfect place to go out for dinner with people without worrying about spending too much money. Our lunch of two sandwiches and two drinks was under $20. They also own Cafe Sophia next door, which I am a huge fan of. Big fan of this place! Got fries (just like McDonald's) mozzarella sticks (sooooo good and came with 6 which I thought was a lot! And the chicken parm sandwich, which was actually amazing. This is the school cafeteria pizza of my youth. Sauce is very bad, dough is bisquick-like, cheese is cheap. Pepperoni is excellent. What happened to the rest of the slice? In particular, the sauce was the worst. It almost tasted like someone mixed some bbq sauce in the tomato sauce, just a weird sort of cloying aftertaste. I've been a regular here for a long time now and I absolutely love this place. It's my favorite restaurant in all of Hoboken, but I'm a pizza lover so I come here at least once a week. The pizza is the best in Hoboken, and IMO competes with the best pizza in the NYC area, which is saying a lot. The people who work here are friendly and hard working. They're excellent people. They also have a cool outdoor space in the back where I've seen kid's parties. I would have loved that as a kid. I highly recommend Hot House. read more

I am a huge pizza fan , and this place will not disappoint. Just wanted to grab a slice (3.00) but ended up getting their small pie (12.00) and I'm glad I made that call. From the dough, to the sauce and cheese ratio it made a perfect pizza. loved that they make thin crust. Although this visit I only had pizza, they serve a lot more that you can checkout on their menu, they do offer 10% off online orders, they have seating available in the back of the pizza spot, and the store front. Just moved here from Mississippi and this place is right around the corner from my flat. Our first visit we had little experience with Jersey's pizza scene so we took our time and the owner/operator explained some things that we should probably have known but he was patient with us. The pizza is killer! So cheesy and the crust has just the right crispness. Oh, and try the buffalo wings. They are fantastic. Good pizza joint for a quick slice in the Southwest part of Hoboken. We often will stop in on our way home from the bus or Path. We often will pick up pepperoni and/or sausage. It is a tad more greasy/soggy than I like but otherwise I am a fan. Their food is also very reasonably priced and the staff is often friendly. If I have more time, I would rather order delivery from Renato's in the Jersey City Heights but if I want it now, Hot House is the place to go! read more

I was looking for a new regular pizza place nearby. I have lived in Hoboken for 25 years and have tried so many places. I had finally settled on Imposto's and Delfino's as my regular pizza places. They just have good and reliable basic pizza. With Imposto's being sold (new owners just don't make it the same) and Delfino's closing in a few days, I needed a new pizza place. I live a 10 minute walk from Hot House and I have no idea how I have missed it. I ordered it last night and got the arugula pizza. It was so good. The sauce was the right combination of tart / sweet / tangy, cheese was flavorful, and the dough was crisp, yet chewy. It was not overly "bready" or heavy. Hit the spot. I think I found a new go to! This place is absolute trash. John (who I sincerely hope is not the owner and/or manager as he claimed) was rude, exhibited terrible business practices, and was generally just horrible. We ordered the Monroe Pie ($20.00) with extra mozzarella ($2.00) and extra prosciutto on the right half ($4 00). With tax, delivery fee, and the extra toppings, the order ended up being $34.67. We got a dough-y pizza without extra cheese, with three pieces of prosciutto, and soggy arugula-- picture attached. They must have misunderstood that we wanted EXTRA cheese and EXTRA prosciutto and instead gave us 9 quarter-sized pieces of mozzarella and 3 pieces of prosciutto on half of the pie. When I called and asked for them to remake it or refund us, I spoke with John who quite literally yelled at me. He said that he "Is not clairvoyant and could not tell that we ordered extra." I asked him to look at the price of the pie and see that it was $20.00 and then $6.00 extra for toppings. He said he saw that but it didn't say extra so we were out of luck. We could call Grubhub. We called, they gave us a refund on our toppings, my boyfriend ate a piece, said that it was gross, we threw it out, and we ate elsewhere. What a cute pizza place in Hoboken! They have a lovely, intimate back yard/garden for you to enjoy!. Its BYOB so take advantage of that! The Buffalo Chicken pizza was one of my favorites the night i came here! This was my far a winner! Another suggestion i would try is the margherita pizza! Both of these type of pies are made on a thin crust , but will deff. fill ya up!. Their spicy sausage pizza is not for someone who cant handle heat. I tried Hot House Pizza after a recommendation from a friend who also lives in Hoboken. As you know Hoboken is filled with Pizza establishments and i am always looking for the best places to eat. I did not not to dine in so, I had placed an order in for pickup and they indicated that it would take about 15 minutes to pick up, which was great for a Friday night. The pizza was exactly as ordered. I am not a huge fan of the flavors of the pizza but that is just my opinion. The pizza was not bad, but in my opinion there are other places with better flavors. It should be noted that this place is BYOB! I would rate Hot House Pizza as follows: Pizza is 3 Stars, Price is 3.5 Stars, Atmosphere is 3.5 Stars and Service is 4 Stars. I've passed this place many times, as I live less than two blocks away. We're always looking to try new pizza places, so tonight we decided to give Hot House a try. What a disappointment! We ordered delivery through GrubHub. Despite being a block and half away from this place, our pizza arrived almost exactly room temperature. After heating the pizza up for 15 minutes, we were again disappointed. The crust was incredibly doughy...to the point of being almost inedible. To add insult to injury, the caesar salad we ordered was SMOTHERED in dressing, leaving a salad that was both soggy and totally unappealing. Major, major fail. Hoboken is filled with plenty of bars and pizza spots. Everyone has their go to place that they have been loyal to for years and years. Well, I am here to tell you that your loyalty has to change to Hot House Pizza and for so many reasons. Hot House is located on 2nd Street and gives off a NY style atmosphere. With a garage door opening front this is the best place to check out especially now that the weather is starting to warm up. Upon entering they have small tables where you can sit down and have a slice or try some of their other food options. The owner Ralph (fellow Hobokenite) is always pleasant when you stop in along with the other staff members. What drew me into Hot House was the pizza (of course) but also its simple menu. If you want pizza, chicken/meatball parm sandwiches, salads, or cold sandwiches then this is the spot. This place differs from others because it doesn't lose sight of the additional hundred menu items that other pizzerias tend to offer. It sticks to the basics making every order delicious and made with special care. Now let's get to my two favorites parts: the pizza and back patio. Have you heard of a place that has A+ pizza and is BYOB in Hoboken? Didn't think so. The pizza itself has the perfect amount of dough and is not overbearingly heavy with the sauce and cheese that I've had at other pizzerias. If you're into those slices that droop down with masses amount of oils then this isn't the place for you. However, if you're like me and can enjoy a good quality slice which is balanced with all the right ingredients then this is your place. For $3 a slice I promise that you will not be disappointed. Hot House offers the cutest back door area that feels like you're walking into someone's secret garden. Set up with a nice amount of tables this can be your weekday escape. We all have those days or even weekend nights where we want to go out for drinks but aren't in the mood to make plans or get all dolled up. Problem solved! Take a walk down 2nd St. with a few friends, stop for some wine/beer, and head over to Hot House and park yourself right in the back area. This was one of my go-to places for a Sicilian pie but my order yesterday will be my last. There was an overwhelming amount of garlic on both my salad and pizza and while I understand some people love garlic, that's a very specific taste. It pretty much ruined the whole meal for me because the garlic overpowered everything else not to mentioned I ate before 7pm and woke up still tasting the garlic. I ate about half of each item and had to throw the rest away, even after picking off as much of the garlic that I could (you could visibly see it sitting on the pizza in huge chunks). read more
