    S'mores dessert
    Deanna P.

My husband has been talking about this place for months and wanted to go. I was a little trepidatious as I'm Gluten free and dairy free and the place is called flour. When we got there, I was happy that there were a few options for me and the waiter was helpful and willing to make my dishes a bit modified. The good news also was they used my favorite water Saratoga. I am always happy when a restaurant uses this water as I feel it's the best, The fish and chips appetizer was very good and my Branzino dish was also tasty and delicious. The S'mores dessert was also perfect! I did not eat the graham cracker. My husband liked his dishes as well. My only real issue was there wasn't a lot of food. We both could have eaten more. The place was nice, but the couch seating was a little awkward. All in all, the place was good and I would go back and eat what I had again. I hope they get more gluten free options in the future.

This is for the restaurant not the pizza shop Overall pretty decent place with good dishes. The knock is for the service. Although we came at presumably off peak (5:30), the service and attention to detail was a miss. I can't imagine how much more it could fall off during peak hours. In terms of the dishes, great execution. The toast and spicy-ish salad were great. Just wish the salad had a bit more of a punch or zing to meet the name. The pasta dishes were pretty great as well. I recommend the Mexican street corn as well as the mushroom linguine dish. The mafaldine missed the mark and needed a bit more citrus and a bit more peppercorn. The dessert was okay. Tasted more like corn bread than olive oil cake. The olive oil used seemed to not be earthy or robust enough to punch through. Overall, worth a try. May have been an off day, but I'd still be picky on what dishes make sense to actually try.

I think this was one of the best meals I've had! Came on a Wednesday night at 6 and service was great. Our waiter recommended some of his favorite dishes which helped since we were very indecisive. If you get anything please let it be the Mexican corn pasta!! I still think about it everyday and it's unreal!!! Everything here was great so can't go wrong with your order. Good place for a Saturday night dinner date or a girls night!

Was a guest as part of a party group. Rented out the venue. 1. Space for 25ish people was a bit tight. 2. The Mafaldine, very disappointed. Strong taste of lemon, possibly too much lemon. 3. Both deserts we had: Olive Oil cake S'mores- below average. 4. spicy rigatoni was the best of them all. Great taste, good proportion of sauce. 5. mexican street corn pasta- disappointing. Overly creamy and sweet.

Flour has been on mine and my friend's "to try" list for a while, and we finally had a chance to go on a weeknight. It's worth noting that I have been here once in the past; however, it doesn't seem that there's a great waitlist system. The first time we went, we did not have a reservation. We were informed by the host that it would be about 1 hour (about 8:30) and that we should come back then as there would be a table available then. They also asked for my name as well. We came back at 8:30 on the dot and were told that another party had already taken the table before us. This was confusing, because why even bother taking my name down? That experience alone warranted losing a star. Anyway, lesson learned, only come here with a reservation. Back to the present. We were seated promptly and service is extremely efficient. My friend and I got a few dishes to share: - whipped ricotta (appetizer) - spicy rigatoni - mexican street corn - olive oil cake + s'mores dessert. The whipped ricotta was a strong start to our meal. The ricotta was well seasoned and the bread was perfectly toasted. The meal only got better. The Mexican corn pasta was a interesting twist on elote corn - very rich and flavorful. The main standout was the spicy rigatoni. I could've eaten several plates of the rigatoni on my own because it was that good. The desserts were okay. The s'mores dessert I felt was much better than the olive oil cake. The last thing to point out is that there is no tap or filtered water offered, meaning one has to purchase a bottle of still or sparkling water. This is a little bit of an unfamiliar model to me. Overall, a lovely spot for a girls night out or a date. They definitely know how to make a mean pasta over there.

Heard a ton of hype about Flour in Hoboken, so I made it a point to check it out while I was back in town. First thing to know: make a reservation. It wasn't hard to snag one, but the space is tiny and gets packed, so 100% book ahead. Also, it's BYOB, which is a huge plus unless you forget like we did. Luckily there's a liquor store a block away, so crisis averted. We went full family-style, which I recommend here. Started with the spicy Caesar and their famous whipped ricotta bread. Honestly, the apps were the highlight of the whole night. The Caesar was incredible, and the whipped ricotta with bread was amazing--plus they do a piece per person, which is a small but very appreciated detail. For pastas, we tried four: * Spicy rigatoni * Fettuccini in mushroom cream * Mexican street corn ravioli * Lamb cavatelli Fettuccini and the lamb cavatelli were the clear winners. The spicy rigatoni and street corn were just okay both leaned a little too sweet for my taste and the tables taste. Wrapped up with the s'mores dessert, which was like a mousse-style s'more and honestly phenomenal. Overall, Flower is definitely worth checking out. Some dishes hit harder than others, but the highs were really good, and the vibe + BYOB make it a great spot for a group dinner.

A definite top 5 pizza I've had (3rd or 4th place) and I've tried a lot of pizza. Called in on a Friday night and they don't take orders for a later time which I found odd but called back. They get your number to text you when it's ready. I picked up about 25-30 minutes after it was done but it was still hot. Pizza and especially the dough was fantastic, light and crunchy all the way through. Cheese and sauce were decent as well and the pepperoni was great. They also give you a side of hot honey which is a nice touch. No eat in for dinner but there is a couple parks nearby you can eat at if you're taking to go on a nice day. Really glad I tried this place!

This restaurant is my favvvvvvv in Hoboken by far! My friends and I came here for her birthday a few months ago and the owner was so sweet- he gave us free champagne, appetizers and dessert to help us celebrate. He was so attentive to us and all the customers there that night! The food was also incredible, the s'mores dessert and the Mexican street corn pasta I literally haven't stopped thinking about in the months since we've been there We will definitely be back!

While visiting Hoboken, I kept passing by this place- always full, unable to take walks ins! I figured i'd be good and we booked a reservation.. they do not serve alcohol but you can bring your own, so we prepped with a nice bottle of wine! Its a small locally owned place, with nice indoor/outdoor space and featuring a a limited menu, but all items seem quite unique.. the owner stopped by to say hi, and he made some recommendations for appetizers, we went for tuna tartare, whipped ricotta, and mussels.. my fave were the mussels, the wine sauce was amazing. We were already full.. but had to try pizza so we split a pie with different toppings and pretty much had it to go..

Delicious! I came with a party of 5 and we got 3 apps and 4 pastas (only shared amongst 4 of us) which was plenty of food! This restaurant is BYOB so we brought our own wine. We started with the ricotta, tuna, and Caesar salad. The ricotta comes with 3 pieces of bread so we were able to add on 2 more for each of us. This was the fluffiest ricotta I've ever had and it's also served with peppers which made it even more unique. The Caesar salad was delicious and came with toasted breadcrumbs with were a nice touch. The tuna was good but I could've gone without it to be honest. I will be thinking about that ricotta for a very long time For the pastas, we got the spicy rigatoni, cavatelli, Mexican street corn, and gnocchi. We wanted to try the oochi but they were out of it. We weren't planning to order the Mexican street corn but this was highly recommended by our server and she was right, it was so unique to the restaurant and tasty. While all the pastas were good, the gnocchi was my absolute favorite. It was not as dense as normal gnocchi and I believe the server said that is because it is ricotta based instead of potato. Our friend ordered her own dish and got the fettuccini which she said was so good. For dessert, we got the s'mores tart and they were able to put a candle in it for my friends birthday. This was also so yummy and I could've eaten one all by myself it was that good. Overall, this definitely lives up to the hype and I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. This was a great experience!

Excellent pasta place! Although small inside, the decor is intimate and inviting. For a Saturday dinner reservation, the earliest time for a party of 2 we could get was 8:45pm. Definitely recommend booking in advance to get your preferred dinner time! The gnocchi with pesto had a great taste. My friend ordered the squid ink pasta and she really enjoyed it. The s'mores tart was an excellent way to finish the meal! This is also a BYOB restaurant. I will definitely return to try the pizza!

    S'mores Tart (~$14) - cross-section
    Aya E.

Ordered: Whipped Ricotta (~$24 for 4 pcs): by Acre Farms with Maria's sweet peppers Spicy-ish Caesar (~$21): red little gem, fermented chili breadcrumbs, colatura dressing Spicy Rigatoni (~$30): Bianco DiNapoli tomato and Calabrian chili breadcrumbs Cavatelli (~$34): lamb ragu, Moroccan spice, Nettle Meadow sheep's cheese Mexican Street Corn (~$34): agnolotti, charred corn crema, queso fresco, tajin S'mores Tart (~$14): graham cracker, chocolate ganache, marshmallow meringue Aya's take: Flour is a contemporary New American restaurant that focuses on Italian handcrafted pastas, pizzas, and breads. They're BYOB and has an intimate, rustic vibe to it. We started with the Whipped Ricotta and Spicy-ish Caesar. The Spicy-ish Caesar is outrageously good. This should be on every table. Don't come here without ordering it. The Whipped Ricotta was a great try; the ricotta layer is a bit too thick for the bread but I did enjoy the sweet peppers it came with. We shared 3 pasta dishes among 4 people which was perfect. I'm not going to lie, they were all good. I would get all 3 again. The Spicy Rigatoni was very well-crafted and is a strong competitor of other famous Spicy Rigatoni dishes (i.e., Carbone, Parm, etc.). The Mexican Street Corn was so satisfying! I loved how creamy, savory, and sweet it was. The agnolotti was also a very smart choice for a dish like this. The Cavatelli was also solid with plenty of lamb ragu in every bite, and the sheep's cheese was fresh and added a nice creamy texture to it. The S'mores Tart is inventive but I don't think I'd order it again. My only complaint would probably be to add their pizzas to the menu so you can enjoy those while dining in. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! You will absolutely leave full and satisfied.

Nice space in Hoboken. Innovative menu with mostly hits and a couple of misses. The short ribs were too spendy for the size and flavor. But the pastas and salads were delicious. Liked the dessert.

I definitely recommend having a reservation as they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning. The Cappuccino was well-made, soothing, and gave me a much-needed caffeine kick. We got one sweet & one savory dish because that's the best way to brunch! The Steak & Eggs was surprisingly good! The hanger steak was juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. I had asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled and I felt like they were a touch overcooked but still enjoyable and paired well with the steak. The brunch potatoes could've been way crispier but I did enjoy the peppers & onions mixed it. The French Toast was fantastic. The coconut butter was a nice addition and it was the right sweetness level overall. Good try for brunch!

While we were seated inside almost immediately, we waited almost 20 minutes for a server to come check in with us. Ordered the nutella donuts, eggs any style, french toast and bacon benedict, along with the Jalisco Flower and Bloody Maria. The brunch cocktails were a highlight of our meal. Had things gone better, we would have had another round. The donuts came out shockingly fast. However, they were incredibly dense, and the nutella sauce was extremely watered down and more of a generic chocolate sauce. The french toast and bacon benedict was perplexing. Benedicts traditionally come with hollandaise sauce- none to be found here. There was also an overwhelming amount of coconut on the french toast, which was not disclosed in the entree description. Other french toast descriptions advertise a coconut butter - this was not a butter consistency, but rather a layer of mushy shredded coconut on top. The watered down nutella sauce ended up being a nice sauce for the french toast. It was pretty warm and cramped in the area we were sitting. Our server never came back to refill our water during our meal. For over $100 (including tip) for brunch for 2, there seem to be better places in Hoboken to have a boozy brunch.

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. My first visit was for my birthday a few years ago where we ordered a steak dish that was so incredibly fatty that it was inedible. We told our server and they offered to bring us out another, which was also still SO fatty. The experience left a bitter taste in our mouths but we were comped the steak and offered a $100 gift card to use on a future visit. We were in no rush to return and it took almost a year for us to visit again. On this visit I don't recall anything being bad but nothing stood out. Our third and fourth visits ended up being yesterday (Valentine's Day) for last minute brunch and dinner reservations. We were appreciative that they were able to squeeze us in last minute. We weren't too keen on a pre fixe menu, but everywhere appears to have a set menu on the holiday. I ordered the shakshuka which lacked depth of flavor and was very disappointing. Probably the worst shakshuka I've ever had unfortunately. The salad and bread that came with it were both good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich (the other 2 entrees he wanted to try were both sold out). The sandwich was very flavorful but needed to be served on a crustier bread. The skillet pancake had good flavor but was so incredibly dense and could've used more bananas. Valentine's dinner was the straw that broke the camel's back. Out of everything that was offered, the only dish worth mentioning was the lobster pasta. It was spicy, pasta cooked al dente, and a fair amount of lobster chunks. We received our salad promptly but our pasta second course came out before the seafood starter course. We brought it to our server's attention and it still took a long time to receive it. Then we had another long wait for our main course. The steak was okay, mashed potatoes were good, but the peppercorn sauce absolutely ruined the meal. There were too many peppercorns in every bite. Also the Nutella flan they offered for dessert was a far cry from a flan. It wasn't good. I would've preferred their regular desserts as an offering. Service was very lackluster. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I really wanted to love antique given that it has been voted best restaurant in Hoboken, but the service and food are both subpar.
