Yesterday we met here with a group of coworkers for our monthly lunch meeting. At first, I thought the prices were high, compared to our usual breakfast/lunch places. But then we received our food and the quality and the amount of food we got was exceptional. I ordered the seasonal veggie omelet with house potatoes minus the toast and it was excellent. Lots of fresh vegetables and the potatoes also had green onions and were perfectly sautéed. I was only able to finish half of my plate and took home the leftovers for anther meal. Besides the food, the service was good; the only thing that was lacking was the coffee. It was weak, but we did get refills. Overall, I would recommend Hot of the Griddle and I am certainly planning to come back in the future. read more

Local breakfast place where a lot of folks working the graveyard or overnight shifts come and grab an early morning breakfast before heading home. Came here to grab some brunch w/ friends before they left town. Service was excellent. Food portions were solid. Eggs and potatoes are cooked well. Prices are a little on the higher side. Parking is plentiful in the lot adjacent. Selection is solid and covers all of your normal breakfast griddle fare, including a selection of eggs benedict. They also have a mimosa selection if you're deciding to make a morning of it. read more

Whenever we order food for pick up, the food seems to not be made with love or care. I always ask for my food to be well done, they never do it. We ask for no tomatoes, we still get tomatoes. Just no care at all. The one time I ordered delivery; the bacon meal. I only received a box with bacon only. $18 something for just 4 pieces of bacon. Somebody does not seem to know how to do their job.. I know they're always busy, but tbh the carelessness is going to make them lose customers. read more

I have been to this location 6 times in total - I have not been disappointed once. When you first walk in, it is a bit intimidating, as you see many people standing around, but if you pay attention, these people are waiting to pay - and you will be promptly greeted by one of the very kind and helpful servers. You can see the beautifully drawn mural on the upper right-hand wall - it is drawn on with chalk pens. The mural has all of the various ingredients and dishes from their menu. The art is so creative and nice. We are usually waited on by a handsome gentleman named Anthony. Anthony always does his best to make sure to answer any question about the food/menu and quickly brings you your drinks and food - he's got a great attitude, provides great service, and has a great sense of humor. Let's talk about the mimosas: *Diverse and delicious flavors *Quickly made *Reasonably priced *Just strong enough - you will only need one! They also sell delicious homemade jellies and jams at the front counter - check it out, you will NOT be disappointed! The corn beef hash is homemade and is the BEST I've ever had at a restaurant. I live in Rancho Cordova, and I've driven past this place quite a few times when I was in the area. So, I decided to come out and have lunch today. I'm glad I did. I walked in, the place is spotless, bright, and has plenty of tables as well as a counter to sit at. As soon as I was seated, somebody came right up to my table. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and polite. I decided to try the Cajun omelette. Hot links, onions, bell peppers, and tomato, with plenty of cheese and green onion on top. I asked if the hot link was very spicy, and she said the hotlink was delicious, but it wasn't very spicy. I asked if I could have mushroom to replace the bell pepper, and I was told no problem at all. The omelette was delicious. All of the fillings and the toppings went well together, it was nice and fluffy, and as I was told, the hotlink was absolutely delicious, but not very spicy at all, there was just enough of a spice that I knew it was there, but that was it. It was very very good. Instead of potatoes, I had fruit on the side. It was a good selection of fruit, And it was very fresh and delicious. The only reason I am taking away A star, was because I had a biscuit instead of toast. The biscuit was delicious, but it wasn't as light and fluffy as I normally like a biscuit. There was just something in the texture of the biscuit that was just a little bit off for my personal taste. Completely disappointed and totally embarrassed when I took my out-of- town guests here for breakfast. 1-name implies pancakes but menu had literally only one hidden word "pancake" and we had to ask 2-ambience is cold and sterile with straight-back chairs and only a couple booths, no decor 3-coffee was terrible!! 4-meals weren't served at the same time; two of us waited a long time for the third's waffle to come, by which times my french toast had cooled 4-syrup served in tiny cups, not pitchers, so the waffle asked for my extra and still had to ask server for more 5-only positive was the fresh fruit cup - really excellent, fresh, ripe, at peak of flavor Also, the server was a lovely young woman who tried her best to make up for all these issues. My wife and I had brunch here for Father's Day. It was packed due to the Fathers having meals there. We both ordered omelettes. I ordered the California omelette with fruit on the side. It took half an hour but that's understandable given the restaurant had a waiting list and the kitchen was slammed. My wife's omelette was ok. Mine was not. It was brown on both sides which meant it was overcooked. The ingredients did not taste fresh. The egg portion of the omelette was firm which also means it was overcooked. Any chef or cook knows eggs are delicate and need to be cooked carefully. The fruit on the side was not good either. The peaches were super firm and not ripe or sweet. I hate giving one stars but I had a case of diarrhea two hours later. Next time, we'll go to IHop. At least the food there is decent and the consistency is there. read more

Any place that knows how to season breakfast potatoes is ok in my book and Hot off the Griddle has this mastered! In this town for the first time, we wanted to find a good, solid breakfast place. HOTG worked for us. We got their signature omelet with hotlinks, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions, jalapeños, and cheese and the lil' bacon breakfast. Both came with house potatoes and toast. While you could order toast, the toast options also included a pancake and a biscuit. I opted for the pancake and I ordered a biscuit as a side. We enjoyed everything about our breakfast and definitely those potatoes! The portions were great - the pancake was huge and the biscuit was sizable too. Both of these offer a good value if you want to substitute one of them for the toast/bread with the meal. There was so much food that I had some lover for another meal. The food here was excellent and clearly we weren't the only people who thought that. When we went to pick up our order, the dining room was packed and people were steadily walking in. On Saturday the 24th my boyfriend and I decided to finally try out this highly anticipated spot that opened during quarantine. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Pancake, Over Easy Eggs and House Potatoes. Oh man the BEST corned beef hash I've ever had in my entire life, the corned beef is just so tender, mouthwatering and just bursting with flavor! Homemade too FYI!! The house potatoes were perfectly seasoned and plentiful and the over easy eggs were cooked to perfection and broke easily! The pancake was big, nice and fluffy, topped with sweet powdered sugar and served with butter and delicious maple syrup! I loved the hot classic Bigelow natural hot Green Tea I ordered as well, not to mention it's full of healthy antioxidants! I would highly recommend this small, local, family owned restaurant that's been around since 2017! They are open daily from 7:00 AM- 2:00 PM with 2 locations, Orangevale and Natomas! Okay, I remember it was back in late 2017 we dined here when it used to be Annie's Breakfast & Steaks. We don't often come this way in the neighborhood... what happened to Annie's? The restaurant is known for serving comfort food. I ordered the Classic Bacon breakfast accompanied by a large glass of OJ. Four strips of extra thick applewood smoked bacon with two eggs (over medium). My hubby had the Classic Sausage Link breakfast. Our meals came with house potatoes and toast. The bacon was a bit too greasy for me... I ate 2 pieces, hubby finished off the rest. Immediately noticeable (to me) were the prices. Prices was definitely on the higher side compared to Annie's. I love breakfast places, and was looking forward to it, but I will be nice and still gift them a 2 star rating. Overall general summary before the details....overpriced and false advertising, to a point. I will explain.... The menu had about a page and a half....barely...of breakfast items. And....there was only one mention of waffles and pancakes. (A stack of pancakes by itself was about $10.00). I would think a place with "Griddle" in the menu would have a plethora of options. They essentially had 5 ingredients, ham, bacon, sausage, and eggs...arranged about 15 "different" ways for a "varied" menu. Not much choice, and extremely expensive for diner food. My cheese omelette came with unmelted cheddar cheese....with "liquid" fat orange colored coming from my omelette....a sign of poor quality cheap cheese. Despite all that, the staff were all awesome. We usually order breakfast items, but lately I've been trying other things since you can order anything from the menu at any time. The other day I had a Reuben and it was fantastic! They make the corned beef in house and put lots of it on the sandwich. Today I got a tuna sandwich and it was stuffed with great tuna. We're always pleased with our meals here. My first time here... I had corned beef hash and eggs. Here are my thoughts: The good: The potatoes were perfectly done and very well seasoned. The gravy on my biscuits was good, and had a touch of cracked black pepper which I liked instead of the usual ground pepper. The biscuits were fresh. The service was good... Although it took a little longer to get my last cup of coffee. The scrambled eggs were very good. The corned beef hash was obviously homemade. Social distancing was enforced and the wait staff was wearing masks, and sanitizing between guests. The bad: The corned beef was cubed, which was fine except the pieces were too large, and they were untrimmed with lots of fat on some of them. Having said that the flavor of the corned beef was excellent. The ugly: The cook was not wearing a mask. Overall I was quite happy with this meal, the lone exception being the extra fat on the corned beef. I would gladly return here and try something else, probably the chicken fried steak. read more

We used to frequent this restaurant when it was Annie's. Wifey decided to try it out as Hot off the Griddle is a fave of ours as we have been to the West El Camino location several times. It was nice to know HOTG took it over as they cleaned it up & it's similar in appearance very much like their original restaurant on West El Camino. Bc of COVID in 2020 we ordered our breakfast to go especially with the current spike of cases. My wife ordered the CBH with no potatoes but with tomatoes on the side & an English muffin. Their CBH was totally homemade not that yucky stuff from the can. Obviously one of the best in the business! My order was meat omelette which was excellent as well. They do load your plate with tons of food that I could only eat so much at two separate occasions. Our waitress had worked at the previous restaurant as she knew most of her customers by name. I have went to Hot Off The Griddle two times. The waiters are always polite, even if they are not as attentive with bigger crowds. The restaurant is small, but the seating is spread out and it doesn't give you that cramped feeling that some diners do. The food is good, but not great. My pancake was amateur and it was very plain since they didn't have any options. As a non-egg eating person, this restaurant was not for me, that is not to say it is a bad restaurant though. I have heard the omelets are amazing. With so little options for me, I would much rather go to a breakfast place with a better variety of foods. read more

I really, really enjoyed my breakfast here. I came on Sunday and it was super busy. Luckily, there was a spot at the counter so I got to sit down right away. They have a pretty small menu, but that just means they specialize in their foods. I got the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes, and it was superb! My absolute favorite part is how good they were with allergies. I can't eat onions so they made me potatoes with bell peppers. It was tasty and most places have not offered to make it without. They have my favorite, the hamburger salad - what is the hamburger salad, its a salad with a cut up hamburger patty and all the things that would go on a hamburger except the bun. Want cheese on your hamburger, its in the salad. Like pickles on your hamburger, its in the salad. Like bacon on your hamburger, its in the salad. Stop and eat the hamburger salad, so delicious. Had occasion to stop in with my wife and another couple. I had not been here since Annie's closed. The place was a bit busy when we arrived, and they seemed to be a bit short staffed, however, the server was very responsive and friendly. We each ordered something different. The food was served in a timely manner and the portions were good. It's a bit pricier than similar places, and I guess that is the only negative about the review. I was very bummed when the greasy spoon breakfast joint "Annie's Breakfast & Steaks" permanently closed their doors in spring-2020 due to their business severely getting affected by COVID-19. But when I heard of a "Hot Off The Griddle" opening up just a few short months later in fall-2020, I was relieved and ecstatic. This is their 2nd location while their original location on El Camino Ave. in South Natomas already has hundreds of amazing Yelp reviews. I came here with my lady on the morning of Sunday 10/4/2020. We arrived around 11:00am, put our name on a waiting list, and got seated within 20 minutes. Not bad considering their restaurant is only allowed limited seating capacity at 25%. They do have a generous outdoor patio but we opted to dine-in at the bar area. The interior layout of this place is bright, cheerful, and full of life. I have been very hesitant dining in anywhere ever since the pandemic began but they were following all strict safety protocols. As far as the menu goes, they have that good old stick-to-your-ribs breakfast food. I ended up going with a smaller portion of their breakfast platter a.k.a. their "Lil Breakfast". I chose 2 slices of their cold smoked Applewood Bacon complete with one egg (cooked over easy), house potatoes, and a warm fluffy homemade biscuit. This was reasonably priced at only $8.49. To complete my meal, I ordered a large 16 oz. orange juice. Both our breakfast entrees came out very quickly. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly while including yellow and green onions. The bacon was extremely tasty while it definitely had that distinctive smokiness to it. However, I loved the biscuit as it hit the spot. And when paired up with jelly, it eventually made its way to my belly. I also saw many other parties order meals such as omelets and Eggs Benedict platters as this place does not skimp on the food. Overall, "Hot Off The Griddle" is in an amazing location directly on Greenback Lane and close to Hazel Ave. It is a warm welcome to residents that live in Orangevale as well as surrounding areas such as Folsom, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Rancho Cordova, and Roseville. This was my favorite place to get a tasty breakfast but the last two times I went the service was subpar which made it hard to eat the food. Our server one time had her breast in the plates she was serving and last time our server had two inch or more nails with decals. She had the nails up on the plates where the food is and I got an up close look at her dirty nails and lost my appetite. So did the person I was with. My husband and I stopped here for brunch on a Sunday on our way from Folsom. We were looking for a really good place to get brunch and I remembered seeing this newer establishment a few times driving by. We were greeted by friendly employees upon entering, which was so nice, as they were pretty busy with a non stop bustle of patrons, which immediately told me we were at the right place! Our waitress was friendly, quick, and took our order. It was hard for me to chose what I wanted (several choices peaked my interest), and I eventually just had to try their Benedict with the fried green tomato in the mix of the other delicious sounding toppings on it. Our food came to us promptly, hot and looked delicious. Mu husband enjoyed his eggs, bacon and fruit and I loved my Benedict! It had the fried green tomato on each half of the English muffin ( which lent a delicious tart and savory twist), and also included avocado, bacon, spinach, and two delicious and perfectly poached eggs! The sauce was very good as well. I got a side of fried potatoes and it came with and yummy fresh fruit that was perfectly ripe! When we come back, I will probably order it again and as I'm writing this review, I wish I had some now, lol! We now have a new spot for brunch!
