On a night I was dying of hungrier I decided to try out Hot Pot 828. Like most AYCA (All You Can Eat) Hot Pot places in New York, per adult it is $19.99 (not including tax and tips)! The decoration is very compelling. Upon entrance there is the wings wallpaper that you can take a picture with and there is also a commercial photo booth in the front allows you to print out one picture per WeChat account. Don't get too excited because half print out is your chosen picture and other half is a commercial. Now the main main reason why everyone is crazy about this place of course would be the Rotating dishes(conveyor belt style) around your the table ! How fun is that to just sit around and grab whatever you want to throw into your hot pot. Now overall experience of my two visits at "A-OK" -The first time I was starving and half of the Group share Electric Hot Pot Stove was not working so everything cooked really slowly. Another problem was the soup was around 2 inch of soup and when I asked if they can add more soup. We were told that it will cook quicker so the soup base did not have much taste. We were seated closer to the front so the services was really great, No Complaint on that -The second time I came here was for Thanksgiving dinner. We had reservation for 9 PM and our whole group of 5 came earlier waiting to feast. After 9:15 PM, we were still not seated and instead we got skipped a group that had connections. This time my group was put to the back and they barely checked up on us. By 10:30 PM there was only 3 tables (including us) left in the whole restaurant and the workers also hot potted next time from us. When one of the waiter brought us our order and starts to put it on our table, one the waitress stopped him and told him in Mandarin "that is not theirs, it is ours bring it over here." The waiter was trying to tell her that it is our order and she already started putting our order on their table. The boss or manager came to apologize to us and scolded her which I find it a bit ridiculous not that I was mad or anything. Food Wise; The meat was fresh not bad, soup base is very light and not much taste which is a big down side for me. It is fun when you sit by the conveyor belt, you can grab whatever you want but don't get too excited and over grab. You will be charged if you waste a lot of fun. Would come back again but find it very similar to other hot pot place.

Keep calm it's hot pot season! I love hot pot. My kids loves hot pot. Everyone loves hot pot. Who doesn't? Who knew hot pot can be this fun?! A moving conveyor belt, not with sushi, but with plates of hot pot items! AYCE for a great low price ($19.99 a person). The belt is never empty and around and around comes the little portions of fishballs and other staples. Seafood and sliced meats (so fresh) needs to be ordered, however. I've tried at least 3 of their soup bases, all of which rich in flavor. My favorite? Tomato. Pots were constantly refilled and skimmed. Dessert wise not many options (only had watermelon the past times I've visited). The atmosphere is nice, lighting wasn't too dark. Decor looks trendy with a hint of British accents. Though, I felt cramped when it came to seating wise. No where to hang coats and bags, couldn't even do that behind my chair since they're rounded. This place has quickly become our new favorite in the neighborhood. I would say come in smaller groups if you wanna sit by the belt, otherwise they have larger tables by the farback for bigger parties, away from the belts. Come for the experience, you can go to any other place if you wanna place orders. Most AYCE hot pot restaurants looks surprised when they see the amount of food my daughters eat. 828 ,you better watch out, we're coming back for you.

Seafood buffet for 2

Came here with a friend when we were in Brooklyn. This is a hidden gem! They offer $35.99 seafood hot pot buffet. How can it be sooo cheap? How are they making money? We had fresh salmon, Argentina shrimps and live one, oysters, clams, shrimp pastes, snow crabs legs, shellfish and etc. with the amount of food that we order, this simply can up to $200 in any non buffet hot pot restaurants. 5 stars for services: very attentive servers, good at recommending and answering all of our questions 5 stars for the environment: clean and hygiene. 5 stars for food: very fresh Strongly recommended this place. I'll definitely come here with a group of 8 people to enjoy a private karaoke session while having hot pot in a private room.

Salmon, oysters etc

Attentive staff, good variety of food, they forgot our pitcher of watermelon juice but they swiftly apologized and quickly made it for us, gave watermelon and ice cream at the end. My friend didn't like the mushroom soup base. It was smelling really bad but they quickly switched it for another pork bone soup base.

Fantastic!

This is gonna be my favorite seafood hotpot place. Will definitely come back again. Service is great too.

This spot is pretty good for seafood hot pot. Most hot pot spots have seafood but this spot got more options. They also have razor clams, artic shrimps (palm size), live shrimp, snow crabs etc. The price is higher but you get better seafood. There's an option for regular hot pot which is $20. Seafood option is $36. They also got a conveyor belt that serves regular hot pot food. Which is fun but they sat us in the back and we didn't get to experience it. I didn't give it a 5 star because we had reservations at 9 but wasn't seated till 9:30. Overall pretty good and will def come back

Giant Alaskan Shrimp!

We came for a party. We had the seafood hot pot. The seafood was fresh. Some were frozen but, still good quality. (The above statement was written in front of our server because I had to write the review to get the 5% discount for our total bill. Overall, it was not a bad place for a Chinese hot pot. I just will not go out of my way to come from where I live if it were not for my high school friends wanting to eat in Brooklyn. We had to wait for 40 minutes more for our table even though we arrived 20 minutes prior to our appointment time. So we waited for almost an hour for our table. Can you imagine about 20ish people waiting by the front desk because it was cold outside?! There were only two chairs to sit. We were given one private room in the basement with a karaoke/dining room split set up. for our party of about 25 people which consisted of adults and children. Our room had a part of the wall paper coming off. Some of the hot pot plates were cracked. The chairs were mix matched as if they bought them from other restaurants that were closing down and they got them for a penny on the dollar. The restaurant's decor was cheesy for my taste. It looked like a scene from the Sponge Bob Square Pant's restaurant. The main dining room had stuff hanging what looked like nets/ivy that belong in the garden. Our servers were nice. They were attentive. Some items which were more expensive had to be asked repeatedly for us to get the items to our table. We had all the typical items that you can get from any Chinese hot pot place. The item that stood out was the Alaskan giant shrimp which was the longer than my palm. Although it was frozen and I question its origination, it was good. We had the razor clams and Alaskan crab legs. We also had the surf clam and salmon sashimi. They gave us Haagen-Daz ice cream cups at the end for dessert. Because of the size of our group, the server told us that there is no time limit for our room which was nice...to make up for the time that we had to wait for our room. It is a good place for a small crowd but, our group just did not work well. If you do not mind the cheesy decor, typical Asian hot pot food then this is the place for you.)

Fresh seafoods

A new refreshing place for hotpot, all you can eat style. Also, it is ktv!!! Their seafood is pretty fresh. I like the staffs more, they are very nice and offer a lot of free items like drinks. There is an hour limit for food but you can add time for ktv. We are filled up with food feeling nice and warm. Everyone is singing afterwards. The staffs are a plus to this place. I did not read any reviews and place a bet on this place and it came out pretty good. I enjoyed it and surely will be back in the future. There are a seafoods that will definitely charge you extras for. Big crab legs and different types of clams. You got to try it out for yourself. There is many seating and many private rooms. The food and service comes up pretty quick. Make sure you ask for what are the type of services they have. If someoneis birthday make sure to bring ID and cake for free dining for the birthday one(s). If not just check in and review you will get a 5% off 100 bill before taxes. Try it out.

My friends and I decided to eat here on a snowy day after karaoke. We called them and they told us they could find us a table if we got there within 10 minutes. I wasn't a big fan of hot pot honestly, but the food here was extremely good. The waitress was so kind, she constantly made sure we were okay and refilled our food choices. We also were given free icecream in the end! Definitely will come back here.

All you can eat!

What is the gigantic seafood platter called? How much is it?

This is seafood hotpot , they put on big platter for 6 people or up

Is it free for the individual dining on their birthday?

yes

For the AYCE, is the food delivered on the conveyor belt when u order it?

No everything, some item only

How much would it cost per person when including the tax and service tips?

It's around $26 for regular AYCE hotpot and $44 for seafood AYCE. The seafood option is well worth the money, fresh selection of seafood -- snow crab, razor clams, jumbo shrimp, crawfish just to name a few of my favorites.

It was around 4:30pm and when we arrived, it was empty which was perfect for us. Space is big and spacious and their tables, plating, and decor really stood out to me. Seemed fancier than other Chinese restaurants! Ordered a variety of dishes and they were all really large portions and well-prepared. None were overly salty or sweet, just right. My favorite was their chicken, eggplant and salted fish claypot dish. It's one of my favorite dishes in general and they made it very well. Definitely will come here more often and will rec my family to try this place out for our next family event.

The meal includes geoduck sashimi, jellyfish & mixed appetizer, soup, steamed fish, crab & lobster with sticky rice, abalone, steamed shrimp, noodles, and veggies. Some dishes were bigger than others. Both times I came they didn't have abalone so we substitute the dish for garlic scallop (which I prefer). The menu also says it comes with house special dessert but we never gotten any. For any seafood, it's market price plus they add a 30% processing fee, which is strange to me. For a Chinese restaurant which usually does not charge tax if you pay with cash, they charge tax here whether you pay by card or cash. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. They have pretty large tables, suitable for parties and celebrations. There's a private space upstairs with 3 large tables for parties. The restaurant is pretty slow in the afternoon.

So so good! Pricing is fantastic for happy hour…read more We ordered the following and only spent about $100 before tip: Drinks -Mi Barrio (HH - $11) -Bay Ridge Baby (HH - $11) -Bar Chuzo Margarita (HH - $11) -Rose Sangria (HH - $11) Food -Mini Salchipapa (HH - $11) -Ecuadorian Hot Dog (HH - $5) -Pork Chuzo Platter ($18) -Ecuadorian Chorizo Platter ($16) Everything was delicious. Our favorite was the Salchipapa and the yuca croquettes from the platters which we could eat plates of. Between the pork and chorizo, I thought the pork was more flavorful but the chorizo was also very good. Out of the drinks, I enjoyed the bar Chuzo margarita the best. Since it's a clarified drink, it looks different from a regular margarita but oh so delicious. My least favorite was the sangria but I don't usually enjoy wine. When we entered there was only one other table occupied. Food and drinks were served quickly. Their menu is also great in delineating between GF= Gluten Free | DF= Dairy Free | V= Vegetarian | V+= Vegan. I would 100% come back during or not during happy hour. Highly recommend.

The sushi grade tuna and avocado layered together in a bright, herbaceous broth that had just the right amount of heat and freshness. The Scallop Crudo was equally impressive, silky smooth scallops with a citrusy, slightly sweet backdrop that let the quality of the fish shine. The Crab Cake was well seasoned and had this beautiful depth of flavor from the Ecuadorian manglar crab, not your average crab cake at all. And the Chicken Chuzo Platter genuinely surprised me. I normally avoid skewer style meats because they tend to come out dry but this chicken was incredibly moist, tender and packed with flavor from the brasa marinade. Served alongside yuca croquettes and Andean corn, it was a full, satisfying plate. On the drinks side the Light Roast Espresso Martini was smooth, perfectly foamy and had this lovely depth without being overly sweet. And the Ruby Rose Cooler? As a pink grapefruit lover, this one was made for me. Bright, refreshing and dangerously easy to sip.

Delicious food, good portions, and everything was exactly on theme. Besides the food, this dimly lit restaurant has a great moody vibe: perfect for a classy evening out with friends, a date, or family. The service was wonderful as well. Water was consistently refilled, staff checked in enough to make sure all needs were met without being overbearing, and everyone was friendly. Rude hostess/manager. Seems to overbook and makes you wait 30-40 minutes even with reservation…read more I want to preface that this review post is not related to our actual server but instead with the hostess/manager. We made a reservation about a month in advance for a party of 16 which was confirmed by the restaurant. As we were on our way to the restaurant, they called us asking if we were really going to be a party of 16 which we thought was odd. We get to the restaurant and I let the hostess know that we were there for the 5pm reservation and it was about 5:05. She said that the table is still not ready. Then about a few minutes later the manager comes over and says it'll be about 2 more minutes. At this point it's about 5:15. Then the manager comes back over and says we're getting your table ready outside (which also was set up outside where it was no longer part of the actual restaurant which makes no sense) - it's much cooler outside than it is inside - does he think I'm stupid or naive? It's literally sweltering outside at around 90 degrees meanwhile indoors it's air conditioned. At this point I'm starting to get very annoyed as I see the hostess and the manager conversing with each other and then glaring back at me especially the hostess giving me nasty looks. Her job is in customer service - if she doesn't like her job then don't work there and maybe do a better job at managing reservations. Then the manager comes to me and points to the room behind the hostess stand and proceeds to tell me that the table is reserved for a party of 30 and in my head I'm like I literally made a reservation a month ago. He tells me that if we want to sit inside we have to wait 30 minutes - seriously? They definitely overbooked and didn't know how to handle the situation. Then he comes over to tell me that they have a table but they need it back in 1.5 hours and I said fine - so dumb because if they had originally given us the table at 5 we would've been out of there by 7 but instead we didn't get done til close to 7:30 because of their ineptitude. As it's nearing 7pm the manager comes over and asks how everything is and unfortunately one of our party guests still didn't have his meal - guess they forgot to put the order in so that also took longer - they needed us to get out by 7 to turn the table over. After a while the manager comes back and says to us "Are you happy now?" What is that supposed to mean? If you're going to ask like that then NO. This is absolutely unacceptable. Then as I walk out of the restaurant I see the party that must've had the reservation at 7pm go "oh this must be the party." Yea you can thank the manager for your late seating. We will definitely not be returning as this was terrible experience and the food wasn't even that great. After reading another yelp review from 5 years ago, it seems like nothing has changed with the hostess/manager and reservation seating.
