    Yurika steak pie.
    Deejay D.

Stopped in here yesterday for lunch with a few friends. It's located inside the bowling alley building. There are a few eateries inside. Kind of like an indoor strip mall. I've never had a potato pie before so this was my first experience. The place was small with limited seating. There wasn't enough room for all of us but there were tables and chairs outside to sit in. The weather was good that day so it was perfect. These were a lot of potato pie options on the menu. I ended up getting the Yurika steak potato pie. It was huge. I didn't know they came in an 8 in pie tin. I could only eat half of it. This was totally something different. It was actually really good. So much flavor and texture. I kind of liked the burnt potato skins at the bottom of the pie. I know it sounds weird but it tasted good. I could've eaten it all but I would've been overstuffed. Oh yah, the pies are hot and fresh. It takes a few minutes to get your order because they're made to order. My buddy ordered the lasagna pie. That seemed like it took twice as long. So if you ordered that, be prepared to wait a little longer. It seemed like most people that order food there get it to go. The service was great and the people were very friendly. I'm looking forward to trying a different pie on my next visit.

This place is so freaking good!!!! We put in an order at 8:25pm online and it was ready right after we arrived. We ordered one of the chili frito potatoes and one of the tuna and both were so delicious! I even saw the employee taking the tuna out of the can!! We will definitely be back! Unfortunately it seems like a lot of places don't survive in these shops but I hope this place is able to make it!!! Also, on their menu it says they have salads coming soon.

Got three different plates...chili cheese, bacon Mac (added broccoli) and the sweet potato. Couldn't decide which one was best. The gal at the counter was so sweet and polite. I had asked the guy in the cooking window where the bathroom was and she quickly followed me to tell me the code for the bathroom. She's so attentive and very concise when speaking with her coworker. The restaurant itself had super cute & punny potato signs. Felt very homey

Tried this spot while vacationing in Nevada and it actually surprised me with how good it was. I didn't really think much of it given the fact that it was located inside of a bowling alley, but I have to say my assumption was completely wrong. The potato was perfect! Sometimes I get baked potatoes and they are way too dry. The bacon on top was crispy, the buffalo chicken was my favorite and had just the right amount of spicy to it. My least favorite was the grilled chicken, only reason is because some of the pieces of chicken had tendon in it and it just grosses me out when I'm eating chicken and all of a sudden it's super chewy lol. It's probably just a me thing and some others may like it. Did not get a picture but I did try the side of macaroni and it was also delicious. For the dessert I got a slice of pecan pie and it was amazing! It was a pretty big size enough for two to share for sure and it was topped with plenty of whipped cream. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the pecan pie either. Overall this place was great and if I was ever in the area I would definitely stop by again!

The restaurant was immaculate, super clean. It is hard to find because it's inside the bowling alley and not a ton of signage. We ordered 3 potatoes for take out. They were all pretty good with VERY generous portions. Our favorite was the fiesta, then the buffalo chicken (but the chicken was a little rubbery). Next time I want to try the sweet potato marshmallow dessert!

We came here for mothers day since My husband knows how much I love bake potatoes. We came in and the area isn't huge but it's good for about 3 families to enjoy their meals. The staff greeted us and were very friendly. They went over the menu and all the options. We tried the bake potato with brisket and Mac and cheese and our daughter got the Taki baked potato. They were nice sized and so soft. They were so filling that we took the rest home to enjoy another day. The area was bright and full of different potato decorations. We really enjoyed it and will be back for more. They even let our daughter design a possible new potato option and said they would name it after her if they went with it. Such a nice and fun experience.

Food was great! I feel guilty purchasing something from a restaurant that I could easily make at home so I think portion size is the most important thing for me but overall it is delicious. I loved it. I think bigger portions are always appreciated.

Hot Potato Pie did a great job catering for us. The food arrived hot and fresh, and they kept in communication with me the whole time. They separated toppings like sour cream, cilantro, and onions, and labeled everything clearly. They even helped set up and explained what went with what. We served about 100 employees and didn't get a single complaint, majority just asked if we could cater with them again.

Hot Potato Pie is now open and it does seem quite popular now. We all love a new restaurant! It's located inside the little mall where the bowling alley is in south Carson over by Aloha Liquors. I arrived just after noon and there was quite a line already. Having looked at the menu online, I had an idea of what was on offer. I did notice the posted menu didn't include all the selections on the website, but some were available even though not listed up on the board. Basically they serve baked potatoes with various toppings and fillings, ranging from the basic butter and chives to steak with cheese and sour cream and even birria pork. Prices range from $6.99 for a basic potato to most of the loaded selections at $12.99. $13 bucks for a baked potato seems a little on the high side, but I guess prices are what they are these days. No french fries if you were wondering. We stood in line and placed our order of the Bacon Bacon potato and the Steakhouse potato, made with beef, onions, cheese, bell peppers and sour cream. Every order is packed to go, even including a big paper inside plastic bag. The interior is sort of small, so this seems more of a to go order place, rather than a sit down place. There are a couple of tables and bar stools at a counter to sit. The food didn't take too long to come out. Upon taking off the to go covers off our potato containers, my friend exclaimed, is that all the bacon I get? The potato didn't look as well stuffed with goodies and bacon as the picture on the website would lead you to believe, but hey, what fast food burger actually looks like the advertisement photo? He was a bit disappointed. Mine was the steakhouse potato. It was just OK, but could have used some pepper and salt, but there was none available at the tables or pick up counter. If you got this to go you'd just be outta luck on that! My potato had cooler spots in the center and really could have been kept hotter before served. The meat was just OK, lacking and grilled or charred flavor. Overall it was just an OK, experience and I probably will not return. Maybe give them some time to fine tune the operation and give it a try. You do gotta be brave to open a restaurant these days!

    Too bad it's all gone!

Rich, the owner, was very helpful to us as we read the menu. This is a baked potato BOWLFUL and more than one person can eat, we split one. Hot, tasty, clean restaurant, nice staff...and so yummy! We'll be back or over to try Hot Potato Pie #1 in the Carson Lanes Bowling center.

#2 Smokey Pork and Baked Bean

Second time here. First time had the pleasure of meeting the owners and getting an amazing potato. Daughter wanted to return for the same Smokey Pork and Baked Bean. This time received a potato with just beans. Went back to discuss with the two employees who stared that is what i got! Not friendly and unwilling to listen that the previous time we ordered the same and had a pile of pulled pork and a BBQ sauce drizzle. Unfortunately not pleased with the product nor the employees the second time around causing a quality issue that the owners are going to need to fix!

I'm a huge potato fan so, this place was a definite must-try! Their birria version had well seasoned beef instead of the traditional goat. Very good. I went back and tried the Carne asada, too. Fresh jalapeños in their pico de gallo added the perfect amount of heat. They play cooking shows on the TV, which is how I personally choose to eat at home. It's a small spot inside of a bowling alley but, the flavors are solid and consistent. Be sure to try their fountain sodas. The cream soda is the best!

I haven't found another place that lets you build a salad this loaded without charging you for every extra sprinkle of goodness. Now let's talk açaí bowls. The Cool Bowl is my ride-or-die. Banana, blueberries, coconut flakes, granola... it tastes like dessert but doesn't come with the regret of eating a large sized ice cream cone of Handle's upside down pineapple cake (that's still reserved for weekends). It 100% cures my ice-cream cravings. They also have fresh juices, smoothies, and cleanse options for anyone who wants the benefits of juicing without washing a juicer afterward (bless them). Everything is fresh, thoughtfully made, and actually keeps you full. The vibe is clean, bright, and welcoming, with community tables and fun little health tips hidden around the shop. And the staff? It's been our go to place. Today being Father's Day, we were out and about in town and decided we would eat there. All the way there I kept bragging to my grandson how great this place is and it's our go to spot. yada yada yada. It wasn't very busy and we were seated very quickly. The service has always been pretty friendly. The service today was adequate and I'll get to that in a second. My grandson ordered the pork belly, Mac and cheese. I kept saying how that is a really good choice and he's really going to like it. My wife ordered the half rack ribs with fries and coleslaw. I had what I think is called the butchers platter with ribs, chicken wings, and pork belly. The food arrived and looked pretty darn good. But that's where it ends. My wife kept saying how salty the food was. And I got to thinking about that as I was eating my wings with the so-called Memphis dust flavoring on them. Those were equally salty so I thought wow OK maybe it's just our taste buds. Then I tried my ribs and they were also salty. I tried my wife's ribs just to see if they were that salty and come to find out they really were and dry. The fries that came with my wife's food tasted like they were old like they've been sitting out for a while. The coleslaw was also bland. After bragging about the pork belly and cheese, my grandson stated that it was pretty bland with very little flavor. So I tried it just to see what was going on and sure enough it was really lacking something what I don't know. I'm thinking garlic because it was pretty darn bland. I honestly hate to give a review like this because I really like this place as I said before it's been our go to spot. Now, as far as the service the server, she was very friendly, but that was pretty much it, after getting our food she didn't even check on us until it was about time for us to leave and she brought us our check. It's just kind of weird because there's a couple of servers here that are exceptional. So I don't know what's going on, but this was a very big letdown for a couple of regular customers. As usual, the place is clean and spacious with plenty of TVs to enjoy sports. In the end, the beverages were about the best part of the meal. It was Father's Day, so my beer was free so thank you for that maybe this was just a rough day. I don't know. I don't know if you have new cooks or what but this was pretty bad considering how much we like this place and how good it has always been.

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. The restaurant is located on a street where there was very limited parking in front and all the rear parking is super dark so bring your night vision goggles. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
