    Mac & Cheese Potato
    Rayce M.

We grabbed takeout from here after hearing good things. Overall, a worthy fast service addition to the area. We called in to place an order for pick up. Welp, you can't do that. They told us not to order over the phone, only online. OK, fine, but it seems like you shouldn't turn away business just because we used a phone. We got our order placed online instead. My wife received a confirmation email and then an email saying our order was ready for pickup. She arrived at the restaurant, and the lady working said she had never gotten an order and hadn't started on it. So my wife waited for the food to be prepared and finally got it home. The food was good. The mac and cheese potato is really good. The mac and cheese was a star. The shepherd's pie was ok, but a little shy on the meat and needed some more seasoning. At least the portions are large, and you'll likely be able to split an order into two meals unless you're super hungry. The inside of this place is small and located inside the bowling alley building. Nothing special about the ambiance. Takeout is probably the way to go. This place should be 3 stars. However, I am going to cut a little slack and assume it was a one-off experience. So for this review, I am sticking with 4 stars. When I return, I hope the food is up to par, and the service improves. I would love to write a 5-star review for this small local business.

    Yurika steak pie.
    Deejay D.

Stopped in here yesterday for lunch with a few friends. It's located inside the bowling alley building. There are a few eateries inside. Kind of like an indoor strip mall. I've never had a potato pie before so this was my first experience. The place was small with limited seating. There wasn't enough room for all of us but there were tables and chairs outside to sit in. The weather was good that day so it was perfect. These were a lot of potato pie options on the menu. I ended up getting the Yurika steak potato pie. It was huge. I didn't know they came in an 8 in pie tin. I could only eat half of it. This was totally something different. It was actually really good. So much flavor and texture. I kind of liked the burnt potato skins at the bottom of the pie. I know it sounds weird but it tasted good. I could've eaten it all but I would've been overstuffed. Oh yah, the pies are hot and fresh. It takes a few minutes to get your order because they're made to order. My buddy ordered the lasagna pie. That seemed like it took twice as long. So if you ordered that, be prepared to wait a little longer. It seemed like most people that order food there get it to go. The service was great and the people were very friendly. I'm looking forward to trying a different pie on my next visit.

Wild West Tater (Bbq pork, Mac n cheese) and black cherry Stubborn soda. Delicious!
    Crystal S.

Where has this been all my life, and why is it tucked in a small food court in a bowling alley!? I ordered the Wild West Tater and honestly was expecting a fairly satisfying, but ordinary, baked potato with toppings. What I received was an amazing blend of super tender pork in a slightly sweet but tangy BBQ sauce, mac n' cheese, and a perfectly cooked (not hard or dry), very generously sized potato (big enough for two). On a chilly day, when you're hungry, this absolutely fits the bill. Warming and savory, but well balanced, and not greasy. After some bowling or billiards? Perfect. I was thinking this was probably the best flavor, when I saw the rotating ad for....a spaghetti potato pie. Will have to come back and try other varieties. The cashier was very helpful and patient explaining the menu. Checked the website and looks like they update the menu with new options too. They say they're "dedicated to perfecting the art of the baked potato," and they're doing exactly that. Along with it, they're also serving up one of the best craft-style fountain sodas, Stubborn Soda. Don't hesitate to make a little detour (or order delivery) to try this place. TIP: Located inside the HomeGrown Bowl center: from the main entrance, head down the hall to the right past the arcade; also near a side entrance.

    Tuna-Topper Baked Potato

This place is so freaking good!!!! We put in an order at 8:25pm online and it was ready right after we arrived. We ordered one of the chili frito potatoes and one of the tuna and both were so delicious! I even saw the employee taking the tuna out of the can!! We will definitely be back! Unfortunately it seems like a lot of places don't survive in these shops but I hope this place is able to make it!!! Also, on their menu it says they have salads coming soon.

Got three different plates...chili cheese, bacon Mac (added broccoli) and the sweet potato. Couldn't decide which one was best. The gal at the counter was so sweet and polite. I had asked the guy in the cooking window where the bathroom was and she quickly followed me to tell me the code for the bathroom. She's so attentive and very concise when speaking with her coworker. The restaurant itself had super cute & punny potato signs. Felt very homey

Baked potato with grilled chicken, buffalo chicken, shredded cheese, bacon, and ranch

Tried this spot while vacationing in Nevada and it actually surprised me with how good it was. I didn't really think much of it given the fact that it was located inside of a bowling alley, but I have to say my assumption was completely wrong. The potato was perfect! Sometimes I get baked potatoes and they are way too dry. The bacon on top was crispy, the buffalo chicken was my favorite and had just the right amount of spicy to it. My least favorite was the grilled chicken, only reason is because some of the pieces of chicken had tendon in it and it just grosses me out when I'm eating chicken and all of a sudden it's super chewy lol. It's probably just a me thing and some others may like it. Did not get a picture but I did try the side of macaroni and it was also delicious. For the dessert I got a slice of pecan pie and it was amazing! It was a pretty big size enough for two to share for sure and it was topped with plenty of whipped cream. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the pecan pie either. Overall this place was great and if I was ever in the area I would definitely stop by again!

The restaurant was immaculate, super clean. It is hard to find because it's inside the bowling alley and not a ton of signage. We ordered 3 potatoes for take out. They were all pretty good with VERY generous portions. Our favorite was the fiesta, then the buffalo chicken (but the chicken was a little rubbery). Next time I want to try the sweet potato marshmallow dessert!

We came here for mothers day since My husband knows how much I love bake potatoes. We came in and the area isn't huge but it's good for about 3 families to enjoy their meals. The staff greeted us and were very friendly. They went over the menu and all the options. We tried the bake potato with brisket and Mac and cheese and our daughter got the Taki baked potato. They were nice sized and so soft. They were so filling that we took the rest home to enjoy another day. The area was bright and full of different potato decorations. We really enjoyed it and will be back for more. They even let our daughter design a possible new potato option and said they would name it after her if they went with it. Such a nice and fun experience.

Hot Potato Pie did a great job catering for us. The food arrived hot and fresh, and they kept in communication with me the whole time. They separated toppings like sour cream, cilantro, and onions, and labeled everything clearly. They even helped set up and explained what went with what. We served about 100 employees and didn't get a single complaint, majority just asked if we could cater with them again.

Food was great! I feel guilty purchasing something from a restaurant that I could easily make at home so I think portion size is the most important thing for me but overall it is delicious. I loved it. I think bigger portions are always appreciated.

Hot Potato Pie is now open and it does seem quite popular now. We all love a new restaurant! It's located inside the little mall where the bowling alley is in south Carson over by Aloha Liquors. I arrived just after noon and there was quite a line already. Having looked at the menu online, I had an idea of what was on offer. I did notice the posted menu didn't include all the selections on the website, but some were available even though not listed up on the board. Basically they serve baked potatoes with various toppings and fillings, ranging from the basic butter and chives to steak with cheese and sour cream and even birria pork. Prices range from $6.99 for a basic potato to most of the loaded selections at $12.99. $13 bucks for a baked potato seems a little on the high side, but I guess prices are what they are these days. No french fries if you were wondering. We stood in line and placed our order of the Bacon Bacon potato and the Steakhouse potato, made with beef, onions, cheese, bell peppers and sour cream. Every order is packed to go, even including a big paper inside plastic bag. The interior is sort of small, so this seems more of a to go order place, rather than a sit down place. There are a couple of tables and bar stools at a counter to sit. The food didn't take too long to come out. Upon taking off the to go covers off our potato containers, my friend exclaimed, is that all the bacon I get? The potato didn't look as well stuffed with goodies and bacon as the picture on the website would lead you to believe, but hey, what fast food burger actually looks like the advertisement photo? He was a bit disappointed. Mine was the steakhouse potato. It was just OK, but could have used some pepper and salt, but there was none available at the tables or pick up counter. If you got this to go you'd just be outta luck on that! My potato had cooler spots in the center and really could have been kept hotter before served. The meat was just OK, lacking and grilled or charred flavor. Overall it was just an OK, experience and I probably will not return. Maybe give them some time to fine tune the operation and give it a try. You do gotta be brave to open a restaurant these days!

    Too bad it's all gone!

Rich, the owner, was very helpful to us as we read the menu. This is a baked potato BOWLFUL and more than one person can eat, we split one. Hot, tasty, clean restaurant, nice staff...and so yummy! We'll be back or over to try Hot Potato Pie #1 in the Carson Lanes Bowling center.

A total of 8 people and we fit perfectly in one of their booths. Very cool place. Lots to look at. A little on the mood side but that's because everyone is having fun! Our waitress was awesome! She was quick, everything was amazing and she kept in touch with us throughout our meal. The food here is fantastic! So good! The cornbread alone was so good! They do have shirts available if you're interested. Stock may be limited. I hope to visit again. This will definitely be a must go for me.

Food Unfortunately,…read morethe food was very disappointing. The ribs tasted stale and almost jerky-like, as if they had been sitting out too long or reheated multiple times. The basket of wings was cold in the middle and tasted as though they had simply been microwaved. They also tasted old and lacked freshness. The Jump Up and Kiss Me Chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The flavor was just okay, but there was nothing particularly special about the dish. Service The service was very poor. Our waitress repeatedly rolled her eyes and barely checked on us to see if everything was okay. I had to repeatedly get up myself to ask for condiments, refreshments, and napkins. Management I was also disappointed with how the manager handled my concerns. After I explained our experience, her response was essentially, "Okay, I'll pass along your comments." She did not seem concerned or interested in making the situation better. Unfortunately, I understood why the service was so poor after speaking with the manager. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and in this case, I did not feel that there was much care or concern for the customers. I used to love going to Reds when they had the previous manager. He was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customers. The food was also delicious and tasted fresh. It's disappointing to see how much the experience has changed. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously because Reds used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed visiting.

But at the same time, it would be silly to hear a server say bad things about the menu items to their guests. So, she was just doing her job. The bad - The food. Of all the things we ordered, the cheese curds were the best thing cuz...how could you go wrong with frozen items you throw in a fryer? Anyway, we also ordered the Fried Pickles. I enjoy fried pickles, but holy sh*t these were SALTY! These pickles were more like chips. They were actually light and crispy which is unusual as fried pickles are typically still soft and and keep their integrity after being fried in a batter. These, however were like, dehydrated pickles that were battered and deep fried. I really liked how crispy they were, but with how salty they were, we couldn't finish it. Chicken Pot Pie - one of the more popular dishes ordered. It looked great when presented. The top crust looked nice and thin like a cracker, but when I dug in, the filling was runnier than what I am used to. But more importantly, the flavor was off. I assume they use a frozen pie crust because it didn't taste buttery at all. It had a weird chemically taste. I missed having that rich buttery crust a pot pie should have. The filling didn't taste great either. Also, had a weird chemically taste to it. I almost think they use canned chicken based on the flavor and texture it had. I was so looking forward to a homey comforting pot pie. It's not often I get to eat one of these, but this one fell way short of my expectations. The Lamb Burger - My husband loves lamb and it's not often you see a lamb burger anywhere. He was so excited to have this, but was so disappointed after taking his first bite. He said it was so bland. I took a bite. And while it did taste of lamb, I agreed it lacked seasoning. Now, THIS needed some of the salt that were in those pickles. Lol! Foxy Fried Chicken - A panko fried chicken breast. It was good. Mashed potatoes were good and the veggies. I didn't expect this dish to be spicy though. I don't know if the cook went heavy handed on the pepper, but the veggies and mashed potatoes it was served with had a kick to them. Meh. All in all, we wouldn't return. There was nothing we had that made me feel like this place had potential and worth making another visit to. We did order quite a few things and everything, but the curds were lackluster and a disappointment.
