    Eggplant pasta
    Anthony H.

This place is phenomenal!!! The food is so good! The service is next level! They were so sweet and helpful! My family member who we were taking out to eat has mobility and hearing issues and they were so good about helping and accommodating her. On that alone I'd recommend this place. But the cheese bread, kale salad and spaghetti were delicious as well and served quickly with house prepared noodles and focaccia. The special, eggplant pasta was so good we all thought it was sad it's not a permanent menu item! Eat here!

Ya'll I know I just did a review but I had to get it again and post another update. The food was ready right on time, I asked for it to be ready at 4pm and it was fresh out just hit the waiting area at 4pm. Best part it was just as good at home as it was in person. Seriously can't get over how amaizng this place is.

If it not for one very important thing, this would totally be 5 stars. I was excited to see local beef on the menu along with what looked like a delicious potato side. NOPE! I have celiac disease and the dish is fried with wheat items. There are NO safe carbohydrates to eat with the steak for us with CD. I had a choice of two sides...carrots and broccolini. It is baffling that they don't offer garlic mashed. Super easy, cheap and delicious. Hunter was our waiter and he was gracious enough to share that he too has Celiac. He suggested that I choose the fettucine (GF penne is all that is offered) alfredo with grilled shrimp. It was divine. My husband said that his lasagna was equally delicious. Come on chef!!! Give us Celiacs some potatoes!!!

Yum! Another delicious Feast of the 7 Fishes at Cucina Lupo. The restaurant was beautiful and in its true holiday glory. The staff were absolutely fabulous as usual. The food was plentiful and delicious with perfectly paired wines. If you haven't been to Lupo before or one of their amazing specialty dinners, you are missing out and need to plan a visit soon.

Short Rib Ravioli - most excellent!

Pro's: Great server/service, beautiful and fun ambience, excellent food. Con's: None Go back?: Absolutely More... Being from Reno I have wanted to go to this Mark Estee restaurant for some time and finally made it. We were so pleasantly surprised. My date was thrilled that I picked such a great spot. We enjoyed our craft cocktails - mine was the campfire which was like a Manhattan but with a marshmallow theme-even came with a toasted marshmallow garnish...totally fun. I ordered veal piccatta - one of my favorites. It was delicious although the second piece (generous portion) was a little too thick so it was tough, but the sauce was excellent with the 1000 layer potato stack...yum. The highlight was my dates entree - short rib ravioli. Wow...this was delicious. The pasta was so light and delicate, so it was not heavy on the pasta. It was so thin, almost like a wonton, but fluffy and delicious...what a hit! I would go back for that entree. Our server was excellent, too. Friday night, 7/14, working bar area-sorry I don't recall her name but THANK YOU!

We had a tasty meal with friends here last Friday. Service is friendly, our Server, Steve, was attentive and helpful, the restaurant is decorated warm-Italian style, and our food was fresh and tasty. We had Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, Caesar Salad with chicken, Warm Beet Salad and truffle fries. It was all delicious.

The outside was really nice looking The ambiance was really nice inside. Music was at a perfect tone so you could enjoy a mice conversation. It was relaxing. Hostess was really sweet and cheerful. Loved that. Now is where the problem started. Our waiter never introduced himself, but the receipt says Steve S. He walked up, said do you want something to drink besides water, that is where the conversation ended when we said no thank you. We asked for ice for the water as they try to keep it authentic. He goes and grabs some ice, puts into 1 glass and walks off. We had a glass each. So, I still have no ice. Never did get any either!!!! He never came back so sometime else dropped off the food. For that fact, he never came back period. We had to ask the hostess to get him for us. She said he would be right there, time passes and still have not seen him. He NEVER came back ever. The hostess had to go get our ticket and ring us out. So yeah, tip was not great either. You get a tip for service rendered to a customer. If you do not do anything, it will reflect! On to the food. So for the waiter 0.1 stars. Worst wev3e ever had!! We ordered the warm olives 3.5 stars They were ok. The cheesy pull apart bread. Very little cheese on it at all. If you're calling it cheesy, I want some cheesy on it. 3 stars The octopus with 1000-layer potatoes and a dressed salad. Octopus, solid 4 stars as I have never had it in my life to compare it. Was tender chewy if that makes sense. The aioli that comes with it pairs nicely! 1000-layer potatoes 5 stars solid!! I would eat these for a meal. Salad 3 stars, dressing was very little. So, all in all, ambiance was really nice, meal was just ok and waitstaff was the worst I've ever had in a nice restaurant Everyone keeps talking about their great experiences, so where was our great experience. So due to this 1 bad experience, we will not give it a 2nd chance.

Italian food at its finest. The food is excellent, the wine and beer selection is great. A lot of seating from tables to booths to the bar. Been here twice and both times was very happy and full.

    Pan Fried Mortadella

Cucina Lupo is the modern Italian neighborhood spot everyone community deserves and we're fortunate enough to have it in Carson City. My son was turning four and he wanted "pasta" for his special dinner and Lupo, with their scratch made pasta and seasonal cuisine, was the perfect choice. The kids shared the spaghetti and meatballs, which the kitchen happily split for us. Four adults shared the fried artichoke hearts (a must), roasted mortadella (yes you should) and the mussels and clams (mmhmm) and all of it was delicious! I will say that I wish there was a bit more to the mortadella portion but it was so good, as always. The mortadella they make is so damn good! I can never get enough! For dinner my wife and I shared the NY strip, medium rare, with charred broccolini and roasted cauliflower, and I'm here to say this was the most tender and delicious NY strip I've ever had anywhere. Perfectly seared, seasoned, and cooked, topped with a rich and velvety wine Demi sauce, each bite was better than the next, and the veggie sides were also perfectly done and damn good too. For dessert, you know we had a budino! We almost needed two but the special dessert of the night, a baked Alaska, made stretch far enough! Our server was also on point. I think it was Kenny? He had a nonchalant vibe but was super attentive without being too present, and happily addressed any need we had. This was one of the most pleasurable dining experiences I've had in quite sometime and I frankly can't wait to do it again!

I am very picky when it comes to steaks. Usually I just make it myself because of how picky I am. And although there are pretty good places out there, it's no joke when I say that this might be my most favorite prepared steak that a restaurant has served. The ingredients and herbs that were used accented the steak in a way I've never had before.. which makes me wish I had access to this stuff as well. The meat is also from a local farm which is awesome. Customer service is pretty good too. I definitely will be stopping by to grab this same meal every time haha.

Food and service were on par with my last visit. Will return next time I am in Carson City.

Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib. There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received. The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous. All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right. The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost. So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal? However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you. Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. Stop in at the Nugget and enjoy a dinner at the steakhouse. We were told that the chef was on vacation. Should have just left then. Then after being seated and given menus, they came and took them back and gave us this paper revised menu since the head chef was out. Our actual waitress was Chelsea and she was fantastic. If not for her, I would give 0 stars if possible. The restaurant itself we really did not get to see much as we were tucked away in the 1st dining area by the entrance. No worries. It was nice and quaint inside and that's about where it stopped!! I asked about bread, and a different lady brought us 2 rolls that were barely room temp. Basically went from bag to bowl. We ordered our prime rib medium. As anything over that gets tough. We also ordered it with broccoli and when it arrived it had inedible asparagus. I mean they were so fibrous we could barely cut through them. Chelsea apologized and brough us out some broccoli on the side, and just like the rolls, it was barely room temp. Not her fault by no means. Now onto the very overly cooked prime rib. There was 0 pink in it. It was well done and very tough. It was also barely 1/4 inch thick. I mean the thinnest prime rib I have ever seen for supposedly being a 9oz. I have had 8oz at other restaurants twice the size of what we were served.. I managed to cut a couple pieces for my husband to eat. I dd not eat any of it. Basically we sent the majority of it back when we left. The only plus thing about this visit was the mashed potatoes and gravy. Still luke warm at best. I ate about 3 bites of food and was done with it. It was the worst prime rib I have ever seen/tasted in my life. Now Chelsea went and got our receipt for us, which of course was no charge, but if it was, I would have never paid 22.99 for what we received. It was that bad. Chelsea apologized several times and like we told her, you do not control what comes out on these plates. So yes she did get a nice cash tip for being such a sweet waitress and trying to do what she could. As far as the restaurant, we will not be going back for anything there. It is also only open Friday and Saturday from 4-close. I came home and made a sandwich for my now late dinner!

Our server, sorry forgot your name, was helpful and able to answer our questions, we decided on a few items and our party of six shared them. We ordered two pizzas (pepperoni and a capitol combo), we got the pretzel, caesar salad, BBQ brewmaster plate and a few beers. First off the pizzas are delicious and easy choice for anyone who comes here, it will not miss. The bbq platter was also very good, the portions are not huge but each sausage was tasty. The pig wings were tender and flavorful with the hot honey sauce. The pretzel was also great and paired with the stone ground mustard from the bbq plate was excellent. The only item that I think I would change would be the Memphis wings, they were on the salty side for all of us, the flavor is there but a lil too salty, I think the hot honey sauce would have been a hit on those wings. We tried a few beers the lager, Juicy IPA and an amber ale. I skipped the lager, my dad enjoyed his brew. As for the other two, I found them to be refreshing with a nice balance of hops for each of them and a great companion to the dishes we ordered. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stop by.

My primary concern stems from how client input is handled behind the scenes. When a fair review is posted, it is met with a courteous response here on public review platforms, yet taken as a screenshot and posted to the owner's (Jim Palan) personal Facebook page to complain publicly about the customer. Using client feedback as content for personal social media commentary, rather than addressing the core issue directly, undermines trust. Constructive criticism is an opportunity for operational growth, not public conflict. I hope the team chooses to handle future customer input with the consistency, discretion, and professional grace that customers deserve. On this occasion, we were celebrating the birthday of a close friend. Our party of 10 had plenty of room in one of the back rooms with gorgeous views out the windows. We started the evening with a healthy round of appetizers, including Calamari, Roast Duck and a plate of Mussels. While I didn't partake in the Mussels, I will say the Calamari was good but the Roast Duck was truly amazing. Such great flavor, cooked to a tender doneness and topped with a sweet sauce. The bread roll that preceded the appetizers was something special. Warm and wrapped in paper, it was like opening a Christmas present. The bread was soft, warm and delicious. Seriously good. I ordered a Prime Rib, one of the evenings specials. It was a generous portion, served with potatoes and veggies. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly (Medium Rare ofcourse) with the right amount of marbleing and seasoning. This was perhaps one of the best, most flavorful Prime Ribs I have had in recent memory. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass. The fish was breaded and topped with the delicious Macadamia nuts. The fish was light and flaky with a wonderful outer snap. A perfect blend of textures and flavors. I would definitely order this again. My friends mother ordered the Lobster and Filet, Glen Eagle's version of Surf and Turf. I don't know if she realized just how big a 1 1/2 pound (24oz) Lobster really was. This thing was HUGE. Like some giant sea creature. The Filet while a generouse portion, looked puny by comparison. She said the Lobster was a amazing but in full transparency, most of it when home. :-) We had a big party and the restaurant was quite full by the time we left. This did not deter our server nor the bus staff. The staff was attentive, ensuring our waters and drinks were always full. With the orders of appetizers, it felt like there was a steady stream of food. Never felt like we ever waited. I know understand why Glen Eagle's is a favorite amoungst the locals, atleast those in the know. If you get a chance to visit Carson City, be sure to make time to dine at Glen Eagle's.
