I am so disappointed I was so disappointed with our dinner last night. The sushi was so one dimensional with minimal flavor. We ordered the Viper which was topped with a spicy crab salad. There was literally no spice. All the sushi needed to be salted as it clearly had not been. The fish quality is good. They are severely overpriced for the quality that you get. Hands down best vegetable tempura that I've ever had. The ceviche was also AMAZING. I loved how they offered so many vegetarian/vegan options on the menu including some of the sushi rolls ! The owner came by while we were dinning and asked how everything was. We were able to learn a little bit about his journey and loved the place even more because of it. I have tried a couple of different sushi places in WI and this is by far the best one. The issue I've had with WI sushi is the rice. It's tough with a weird texture. This place is the closest to CA sushi. Yummy sushi rice, fresh tasty fish. Large selection of rolls and a good selection of sake. read more

I never write reviews especially bad ones but, I had reservations for our anniversary and requested "private" seating...aka booth. When we got there the hostess was immediately confused and didn't know where to seat us. And ended up seating us in the middle of the dinning room. When we sat down we saw a booth open up and asked if we could move but was told others reserved booths...apparently our request was not important. They even asked the owner who said no. Basically you get what you get. We waited over 30 minutes just to get water. Then another 20 to get our soda order then after another 20 minutes without receiving our soda we left. We didn't even have the opportunity to order food. Oh and by the way there were 3 open booths sitting there open the entire time we were there. I have been so excited to go here since they announced they were opening. And so extremely disappointed at the disorganization and made to feel like we didn't matter. Our anniversary was save by another amazing local restaurant. We will NOT be going back unfortunately. read more

The Sushi was fresh and amazing, we met owner Juan who assured us that everything comes in and is never frozen or fake fish! We loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back! Overall, I think this place is on the right track. The sushi was quite good, though I'm not sure it was any better than the other sushi available in Green Bay. A few of the roll options were a bit strange in terms of ingredients, and some rolls just tried to do too much with respect to how many ingredients were incorporated. I think the menu would benefit from some simpler, more traditional roll options to help counteract the more chaotic offerings. The service was good -- we were checked on frequently, and our server was friendly. No complaints there. The ambience could use a little work -- the lighting was a bit all over the place in terms of color, and the music choice felt off for a sushi restaurant. Generally, I think you want a more quiet and relaxed ambience when eating sushi, and this didn't quite nail that vibe. Finally, though the experience and food were good, I think it was just a bit too pricey. We ended up with a bill well-over $100 for two people. Even subtracting the drinks we had, we still would have been over $100, and that just seems a bit too much given the other options available in town. Overall, it was a good first impression, but I think there's some refinement needed. Has the potential to be a great place. read more

Amazing atmosphere and food at Hot Sake! My mom and I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. We started with the spicy edamame and Serrano Hamachi Poke (pictured). Both were incredible and packed with flavor. We got 4 rolls to share- Ichiban, Veracruz, Super Smoky, and The Wonderful Roll (vegetarian). All 4 rolls were very good. The Ichiban was our favorite- it is their one deep fried roll on the menu. The Wonderful roll had a lot of flavor especially for being vegetarian- definitely a good one to try! If you like smoked salmon, the Super Smoky roll is right up your alley. Would order all 4 rolls again and excited to try the rest of the menu. The service was great- the owner came to our table multiple times to make sure we were enjoying the food and experience. Our server did a great job of checking in on us throughout service. I think this is a new hidden gem in the Green Bay Area. If you like sushi, definitely give it a try! read more

The atmosphere is so nice here that it makes for a perfect date or outing. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. The owner came and shook our hands and introduced himself and asked for our honest opinions of his business and food. He really cares. Our waters stayed topped off, they always checked with my husband if he'd like another drink. We got our food rather quickly too and we went for dinner when it was getting busy. The quality of the sushi and chicken teriyaki was phenomenal. So fresh and amazing flavor. The prices looked a little expensive at a quick glance but you get twice the size sushi rolls compared to other sushi restaurants. The chicken teriyaki plate had very generous portions. I love protein so I'm always asking for double meat when I go out, but I took a chance and I would have thought it was double chicken. SO MUCH FOOD. We loved it and will be coming often. read more
