They shouldn't have had to feel that way in a place where they were simply trying to enjoy a meal. To make the situation even more uncomfortable, the same server stood at a distance and continued staring at them until they eventually left. What makes this especially disappointing is that this café used to have such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It always felt fun, friendly, and inviting, which is what made my parents' experience today so unexpected and upsetting. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected when they walk into a restaurant, regardless of what or how much they order. I really hope this was an isolated experience and not a reflection of how customers are normally treated. However, I felt it was important to share because my parents left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome when they should have simply been able to enjoy their meal.
