Cute little hair salon in Vacaville. The place is clean, inviting, & everyone was pretty friendly. Came here to see Brittney & got a balayage done. She did a great job. The only thing was she accidentally missed a piece in the back when she removed all the foil & washed out my hair. It processed that section for another 5-10 minutes of so. How did she miss it & how I didn't feel it, who knows! But. It happened & it is noticeable when I put all of my hair up or if my hair is pulled forward & resting on my shoulders. I still think she did a good job overall & hope that next time I see her, we get all the pieces lol. read more

She was cool and understood my teenage angst/punk/New Wave aesthetic. She used me and my friends as hair models encouraging my many colorful hairstyles. I followed her from that strip mall to another salon across town. She struck out in her own with the first Hot Shots off Merchant St. to the current space on Elizabeth which has created a Beauty Destination in Vacaville. I love this little hidden gem! The salon is an old house converted to a salon (that's been there for about 30 years). The decor is awesome! The owner did a great job. They offer refreshments and it's an Aveda Salon, so Aveda Tea. They have a very large selection of products for sale as well. I love when a salon uses products on my hair and then actually have them in stock so I can take them home! Now, the important part: I love my new hair! Miranda gave me a balayage. Sadly this place was very unkind and dishonest. My first stylist at Hot Shots colored my hair way too dark and so without complaining, I reappointed with a new stylist there named Ashley, who had only worked at Hot Shots for a month. She was about 15 minutes late arriving, which was fine. But after my appointment with her, she said she would get back to me to reappoint. She never called me back so when I finally got an appointment with her a month later, the receptionist called me and made up an excuse that I would have to have a "physicians note" before I could be seen again. I could not even believe it. I have a perfectly healthy scalp and I'm a very kind person and I don't even know why I was being treated that way. In all my years of great hair appointments, with other talented and kind stylists in town (who eventually retire or move) I have never been treated so rudely. I cannot recommend this place at all. There is so much competition in Vacaville, and so many great salons, you would think they would try to be accommodating and kind but they are not at all. read more

I received a thorough consultation on what I wanted done with my hair before she started to do anything. Natalie suggested a new style for my hair that turned out great. She talked through everything she was doing so I felt comfortable with the cut and color. The salon itself is adorable! Fashioned from an old house, it has great character and charm. I also received a facial from Jess. What a relaxing experience! Jessie knows all about skin and was able to tailor a facial for my particular needs. Sam did a great job with my subtle highlights and A-line cut. I have a lot of volume, so my hair is always a ton of work for any stylist. I walked out feeling like a brand new person. Considering that no salons have been open since mid-March because of coronavirus and I haven't been to a salon since the end of January, this has been long overdue. The Aveda products smell great and are probably not harsh, considering the emphasis on natural ingredients and Ayurveda. They also do facials and Brazilians. Can't wait to come back! read more
