I don't say this lightly--it was an absolute delight and privilege to dine at Southern Tail…read moreBrewing. The atmosphere is great; the space was huge with indoor and outdoor seating, with a kind of vibe that is perfect for an evening out with friends. We made a last-minute reservation for a group of 22 (yikes!) at 6:30pm on a Thursday, and they happily accommodated us. We were seated in a private back room with plenty of space, and the décor was absolutely adorable (peep the photos!). I strategically sat next to friends who were willing to split appetizers, entrées, and dessert, which gave me the perfect opportunity to sample a few of their signature dishes. We started with the Beer Cheese & Pretzel and the Brussels & Bacon, and both were fantastic. The Brussels were the standout, wonderfully charred with a smoky flavor, while the maple bacon added just the right amount of sweetness to balance everything. For our entrées, we shared the STB Craft Burger and the Chicago Hot Dog. Choosing a favorite was nearly impossible, but the hot dog ultimately won me over. The toasted poppy seed bun was chef's kiss, and the combination of pickled vegetables and relish made every bite pop with flavor. But friends ... do yourself a favor and order the brownie à la mode (or, strategically place yourself between friends that like to share because we also got the honey vanilla sundae. ). I'm not being dramatic when I say it's the best brownie I've ever had. It wasn't dense, yet it wasn't cakey either--it existed in that beautiful, perfect, magical space between the two. Warm, rich, perfectly textured, and paired with ice cream... "otherworldly" is the only word that comes to mind. I'm only visiting from out of state, but I would gladly return to Little Rock just for another meal here. An incredible dining experience from start to finish.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the customer service. I have alpha-gal syndrome, which can make dining out challenging, but the staff here went above and beyond to make sure my meal was prepared safely. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about getting everything right. That level of effort and awareness means a lot. I ordered the shrimp po'boy, and it was fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Experiences like this are rare, and it's the reason I keep coming back. I highly recommend this brewery to anyone looking for great food, excellent beer, and truly exceptional service!

Well, I am happy to report that it IS true, that Petit & Keet is an outstanding restaurant. We made it in, in time for their terrific happy hour at the bar. Packed at 5:00 PM on a Tuesday (who woulda thunk that?) we were able to squeeze in and jump in on their goodies. The HH Menu was so appealing we would up just tasting several things; for starters, their signature frozen drink, the Peechy Keet, was absolutely phenomenal (it might also be because it was over 100 degrees outside). Not too sweet, nicely fruity and packing a punch. The Crudites was atypical with a larger assortment of veggies (including some tasty Sheshido peppers) and a really, unique and delish hummus. Next up; the Tuna Tostada. This could actually be my favorite item on the menu; sashimi grade tuna on a larger Tostada, perfectly marinated. Yummy. We topped things off with the Empanadas' that were also delectable; plenty of filling, not overly fried so as to be firm but chewable. I can't believe we wound up being stuffed, and sadly, it prevented us from diving into what looked like some wonderful entrees. Next time! A special note to the management; your bartender (sorry, her name escapes me, but she's in the pic with my wife and me) was as phenomenal as the food & drink (and the decor; sorry I hadn't mentioned that before, but it is a lovely space). She was everything (and more) for what someone behind the bar should be, an expert concotionist, professional, fun (and funny) and on top of everything at a packed bar/restaurant. Can you say "deserves a raise" with me? Also, loved the story of the place on the menu. It feels great to see a local place like Petit and Keet deliver top notch food, service and environment.

One of the saddest steakhouse experiences I've ever had. When we walked in on Saturday night at…read morealmost 6pm, there were only two tables. No one was at the front and it took almost 5 minutes for anyone to notice we were there. Best part is their music wasn't working the whole evening, so we got to enjoy the lovely sounds of awkward silence, the kitchen phone ringing, the dishwasher running, and our waitress listening to youtube on her phone. For two people with two very sad steaks, one side each, bread, and 3 coronas came out to over $200. Ordered a rare filet, it was served medium. It was covered in seasoning I assume to mask the poor quality of the filet. My husband got the ribeye and complained of a very odd taste in his mouth the whole time. I could've ordered the exact same meal at outback for half the price and had a better experience. The cold untoasted bread they served that you had to pay for literally looked and smelled like bagged sliced bread. We were one of 3 tables the entire 2 hours we were there. It took almost an hour to get our steaks with only 2 tables there before us. It took our waitress about 10 minutes to just run our card and finish our check so we could leave. She took her sweet time either being on her phone or getting drinks for other tables etc while we were waiting. My husband said he's never seen a slower moving waitress and it was insane how long everything took considering there were only 6 other people in the entire restaurant. When they did get some music to play, they played the same 3 very obnoxious jazz songs on repeat, and the volume varied the entire time. Sometimes it was too loud to hear each other talk, then there'd be a gap of silence for about 5 mins, then the music would start playing at such a low level you could hear the waitress's phone playing youtube clear across the restaurant. One of the saddest overpriced dining experiences I've had in a long time. You could tell the second you walk in that no one really gives a crap. The tables are very awkwardly placed, the lighting was unpleasant, there was one light going through a flicker cycle the whole night. All the bar chairs (which no one was sitting in) were haphazard and everything just looked like it was falling apart or unkempt. It's sad because you could really do a lot with this space, but whoever is managing this place is running it into the ground. You can tell based on the fact that they had a total of 4 tables the entirety of Saturday night that this place won't last much longer. I'll be shocked if it lasts through the year.

The atmosphere is interesting, bit of that renovated warehouse vibe. We were definitely underdressed compared to everyone else, but there was no mention of a dress code, and if it was a problem, they wouldn't have seated us. The server took 10+ minutes to acknowledge us, and said she'd be right back with water. Another 10 minutes and she came to get our order, and said she forgot the water. Probably another 5 minutes and we finally got some. We ordered some drinks and a charcuterie board to split, as we weren't super hungry that evening. The server was a bit condescending that we didn't order entrees, saying "oh no entrees? you just wanted to try us out, I get it!" No lady, we actually just wanted some finger foods and booze. The charcuterie was very good, and worth the price. But we didn't see the server again until we were ready for the check. So, we did not feel very welcome. Hopefully other servers are more friendly to everyone, even if they're not ordering three courses.

We kept it in our sites as we descended, and found it to be on the 6th floor of the Avenue Hotel. Its outdoor seating area was lovely. On one side you're just in the tree tops. The other side looks over an underwhelming cityscape, but that's not Rooftop's fault. It's still just nice to be on a rooftop! It started to rain not long after we arrived. We moved under the patio cover, and that was a lovely way to watch and hear the rain until the wind really picked up and we moved inside. It was only around 4pm so we both ordered the mocktail on the menu. It's the only one and pretty simple, but it was quite delicious -- muddled strawberry and 7up. I bet it would be even better with Ginger Beer! Maybe a little high in price for the small size and no booze, but oh well. As the rain continued, we decided to share an appetizer to wait it out. We ordered an olive hummus which was surprisingly decent (I'm not an olive fan normally) with pita chips. I wasn't a huge fan of the pita chips, but they served as a perfectly fine delivery mechanism for said hummus. The staff there was really nice and seemed to get along and share duties well -- in a small place you notice things like that and it made an impression.
