Date of visit: December 9, 2018 Seeing how we were on the hunt for a Funko Pop my brother would like as a Christmas gift - and the folks at BoxLunch didn't carry it - we were directed over to their "sister" store at Hot Topic. MAJOR sensory overload here; while BoxLunch is the more "family-friendly" version of the two stores, Hot Topic is like the edgier older sister. You know, the cool one rocking the heavy metal t-shirt with leather & chrome-studded accessories while smoking behind the school bleachers... surprisingly, despite the loud music blasting through the store and the punk rock appearance of the staff, they were actually very helpful and friendly to us. Granted, we weren't able to find the Funko Pop my brother was interested in, but we did find some Disney-related merchandise that BoxLunch was out of stock at. So, although Hot Topic is most certainly not in our age demographic, it's still a good place to browse around and see what's out there.

Hot topic always has amazing fan gear from Harry Potter, my little pony, Disney, and all kinds of bands! Some of my favorite items that I've gotten here include my Gryffindor Harry Potter socks, my golden snitch Harry Potter necklace, my miniature care bears, my frozen T-shirt, and my new boys T-shirt I also bought a Tinkerbell costume here that I wore last year that I got so many compliments on! Everyone loves Disney Classics!! It even came with wings :) Keep up the good work hot topic!

I always like comparing chain stores. Out of all the Hot Topics I've visited, this one is my favorite. Even though the Hot Topic at The Outlets and at Main Place are closer to me, I always ship my online orders to this location. Employees are nice and helpful. Whoever is in charge of drawing on the welcome sign is really good at what they do. Their Tina, from Bob's Burgers, drawing is always spot on! Compared to other locations, this one is always well stocked. They 8 out of 10 times offer the BOGO 50% off sale. Always check out the clearance sale! I went in once and saw a buy one clearance item and get 2 clearance items for free!!! My online orders are always on time. Online returns are fairly easy to do at the store. I once ordered a Boba Fett standee online and the product came in damaged. I was able to return it without any issue.

    Cute disney accessories.

Toxic Service & Complete Management Failure - AVOID THIS LOCATION…read more The Zara at Brea Mall is an absolute embarrassment to the brand. If you value being treated with basic human Decency, do not shop here. I walked out feeling disrespected and humiliated by a staff that is clearly untrained and hostile. The experience at the returns counter was a disaster from start to finish: The "Frontline" Issue: The associate (thin with black hair) was flat-out insulting. She rolled her eyes, talked down to me, and acted like following the store's own return policy was a personal burden to her. It wasn't just "attitude"--it was blatant unprofessionalism. The Incompetence: A second associate with curly hair actually found me an exchange item in a larger size, only to suddenly "change her story" and claim it wasn't policy. Don't offer solutions you don't understand; it's misleading and incompetent. The "Leadership": When the manager was called over, things actually got worse. Instead of de-escalating, the manager was arrogant, dismissive, and provided zero help. When the leadership is this rude, it explains why the staff feels comfortable mistreating paying customers. This isn't just one "bad day"--it's a systemic failure in training and accountability. Zara corporate needs to take a hard look at the Brea location because the current staff is driving loyal customers away for good. I will never spend another dime here.

This brand always gives me major '90s throwback vibes, which I appreciate. The store itself is very clean, items well stocked and well-organized, with plenty of space to browse. There were only a couple other customers inside. That said, the staff were chit-chatting and didn't seem particularly engaged to acknowledge you as you walk by which put a bit of a damper on the experience. (FYI - I like to be left alone when I'm browsing, but a courtesy hello would be nice when you come in). I wandered around for a while but didn't find anything that stood out enough to buy --- the sale wasn't a wow-factor...even with 60% off clearance. Overall, it's nice to have this store here, but my visit felt a little underwhelming. Maybe need to try again for Black Friday!

Crew. One can see the Ulta signs (both sides) from Imperial but J. Crew is a bit harder to see (unless it's dark and it's lighted up). A friend told me this week that she's shopped here a few times, and I was surprised to hear a J. Crew Factory store had opened up here. Most of the items in the store had a discount posted near them, but the deals also got better as one walks further and further into the store - especially in the back with the clearance section. Everything is neat and tidy. There were many sizes in stock, unless they were on a special sale with only a handful of items left in that style. There were employees throughout the store, restocking and tidying up items. The fitting rooms are in the back of the store. Checkout was fast and the employees are very kind and efficient. I was able to grab a few items for myself and a family member, at great deals. There is plenty of parking in front of the store. I will most definitely be returning in the future!

The first time I showed up about 8 months ago and the store was closed - during business hours. It wasn't even lunch time. Today I was at the Brea Mall so I thought I'd try again. I called at 12:30 PM to see if they carry the style of shoe that I was looking for. There was no answer. I called twice. I don't understand since they don't even open until 12 PM. Their business hours are listed 12-5pm. Do they open at 12 and then go on a 2 hour lunch break? I really don't get it. I showed up at their store at 1:15pm today, and just as I was parking, a young man was at the front door, changing the little sign with a Clock that shows when they will be back!! What the hell? This is my second attempt. I guess they don't want my business. It's absolutely ridiculous. This place sucks already since it's never open when you show up. They won't answer the phone either so there's that. How frustrating!! don't waste your time! The store is small anyways. Looking through the window they don't have much inventory, so I guess I won't waste my time ever again in the future. Lame!! I don't know how they stay in business.
