This location is in the Florida Mall and it made me realize that I don't think that I ever saw a Hot Topic that was not on a shopping mall. So after going to the mall of millennia; my boyfriend and I needed to go to hot topic to grab a exclusive Funko pop. We actually got the one he wanted - it is the new nightshade Harley Quinn pop. There was one available and we immediately grabbed it. I don't understand why this hot topic has three stars; but it has to be the cleanest, nicest hot topic I've ever been in. And that says a lot because it's in the mall. The staff are always so friendly and kind Dash and if they don't have the product in store they can definitely order it online for you. Upon walking into this Hot Topic, every person I walked by that was working greeted me. Some people in retail seem to go about their job with ambivalence, but the people working in this store were friendly and helpful. Although I didn't make a purchase as they didn't have the item I was looking for, they did check the computer and seemed genuine in their ability to help me find it. read more

Their customer service is TERRIBLE. I came to shop and heard a manager yelling at one of their workers while crying. Highly unprofessional. Their fitting rooms and some of their clothes were smelly and displayed messy. read more

We should never go anywhere near this place. Every time we walk in we buy something. My kids love what they sell here and can always find things to enjoy. We all like the Funko Pops that they have available. My kids very often buy clothing from them including t-shirts and dresses. The staff on hand are always very friendly and helpful during your shopping experience. Someone is almost always available to greet you when you enter the store and tell you about the specials and answer any questions that you might have. They have a very interesting selection of kids jewelry along with pins and all kinds of other knick-knacks. This location has a few things working against it. Florida Mall is doing a fair amount of renovations, which means that unfortunately, some of the stores are down an aisle that seems like it is closed off, but in fact is open for business. It's also limited in size, as in square footage, but also has a lot of merch, so it's cramped and hard to move around if there are more than like...three people inside. That being said, they do have a lot of merch to choose from, which is nice, and they always have several staff working due to it's being a prime spot for tourists, locals, and others, so finding help is easy peasy. Hot Topic: 1 stop shopping for all your goth, emo, and dark version pop culture needs. The location in Florida Mall is surprisingly small, though the selection is reasonable. Staff are around and helpful. As usual, they have a large selection of items. Everything from keychains, to Jewellery, 2 Funko Pop bobbleheads. They have a large selection of clothing as well, branded with all sorts of pop-culture items. You can find everything here from Marvel, to anime, to Doctor Who. They have a giant t-shirt wall with dozens of designs. And the back they always have clearance racks, so be sure to check those out while you're there. In all, pretty standard for a Hot Topic. That being said, still worth checking out and a lot of fun to look around. read more

Sold me a broken funko pop, granted i should have check to see if it was broken but that is still not acceptable.

This past Saturday's Active Shooter Scare revealed to us that this location is unprepared to handle an emergency that involves public safety. My family ended up in their storage room during the incident, and at no point did we feel secure. In fact, the lack of a metal gate in the storefront (while all the other stores do have a metal gate) actually made us feel more like sitting ducks. I did speak to the Area Manager who does seem eager to make it better. She advised that they do have shelter in place training, and that she is going to see about getting the current staff to go through the training again. That is a good start, but beyond that, this location needs to install some metal gates too. If there is an active shooter, and all the other stores have protective metal gates as deterrents, while Hot Topic only has glass windows and glass doors in their store front, then Hot Topic is going to be at an elevated risk. read more

This is always a GREAT stop for my daughter. This year, for "Black Friday" we had to come out to The Florida Mall for an item they didn't have in stock at Orlando Fashion Square. Hot Topic had some terrific deals this year. This particular store is newly relocated within the mall; and, is larger than other locations. Came in to pick up my order that I had shipped to the store. Walked up to an employee to ask her for help and she looked up from her clipboard and said "what?!" In the most bothered tone ever. This is a typical example of what sort of attitude you can expect from the employees in this store. On another visit, I tried to go into their horrible clearance "section" (basically a bunch of merchandise sloppily shoved into the back of the store) an employee was blocking the entrance to it while folding t shirts, and glared at me when I tried to come closer. Another time, while trying to sell me on their current sale, a male employee asked me how old I was. None of his business&rude of him to ask. Expect them to bump into you with no apology, to be given dirty looks, and all around unfriendliness. Despite moving to a bigger location it is still crowded, unorganized, and unpleasant. Hot Topic is the only store that can manage to feel SMALLER when moving to a much larger space. I stopped coming for the clothes and music a long time ago. I've been going for the collectibles, which since changing locations, seem to have been downsized. Theres simply not enough variety to keep me coming back. read more

Why on earth are these stores so small. I was actually starting to get claustrophobia just standing in line to pay. This store is located in the Florida mall next to, I think it was Ruby Tuesday's and what is now going to become a shake shack. Good placement as it's the first store on the left when you enter through this way. The have good sales on shirts and the dresses were actually cute. Bathing suits were ADORABLE. If you like adorable. Good selection of earrings for many different types of piercings. We were greeted the minute we walked in. A greeting goes a long way in my book. The shirts are on the left hand wall folded in shelves. There is also a table when you walk in right in front of you with more shirts. Step about 6 inches and the registers are to your right. Earrings to the left. Along the back wall were pop figurines which are all the rage. I can't really say what was on the left side of the store as I stood close the entrance just to get away from the cramped store. The register setup needs to be changed. You walk to the far right of the store turn around and then start make a line in between two very tight display shelvings. I had some very employees walking around asking if I needed anything but the longs were very long and they only had one employees on the register. Strange because I encountered at least three others. I know I will be back as this is one of my daughters. his is also one of the firs stores my son goes to when he comes home on leave. read more

Tiny store, but it's fairly well organized despite that and usually clean. Not a great selection of dresses or plus sizes. Not a big selection of clearance items. We did get a fair bargain on a slightly damaged dress once. The people working here are usually friendly. My only major complaint is that they won't let you use coupons on the clearance items, which every other HT store does. They also wouldn't combine sales with Hot Cash or bounce back type coupons, which again, every other store we've been to will do. read more

I came in to this location on my vacation to return a very disappointing hoodie that was far too small. I walked in the door and the gentleman at the counter didn't greet me. As I glance around looking to see if the hoodie was there in my size, perhaps, he still did not say anything to me. After finding the hoodie and seeing my size was not there, I proceeded to the register only to find that the reason he had not greeted me was because he was on his cell phone! I hand him my hoodie with the original invoice and all he says to me during the entire transaction is to ask me whether I have the card I used to make the purchase. He is on his phone the entire time. I've never had such abysmal service at a store chain I have frequented for years. read more
