Customer service is terrible. Love the store but the past few times I was there the workers were rude. One time there were 2 workers at the register gossiping and we were ready to buy and stood there for 3 minutes before one worker turned and said it'd be a few more minutes. Today we were standing in line, the workers were all in the back, the phone was ringing, and nobody came up to help us so after about 5 minutes of waiting we ended up just leaving. Great customer service here. I forgot the employee's name but she had blonde hair and was wearing something that was supporting her wrist. I came in looking for an item, they didn't have it in stock, so she helped me look up which store was carrying it, she even called to confirm and was very patient while being on hold and helping another customer at the same time. Every time I come to this Hot Topic it's busy, but for all the right reasons! The products are cool, they have tons of merch that relates to people young and old, and they always have promos or deals to draw in the crowds! But the customer service at this location is always amazing! Over the years I have been helped by awesome employees who seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and have knowledge or interest in the products they sell! Tonight was definitely my number one trip though! I was helped by Tayler and Amina to find exactly what I was looking for. Tayler even helped me figure out what was inside of one of their "mystery" keychain bags because I wanted a specific one, and Amina searched the store in order to look for a novelty item I was dying to have! They were awesome, and I cannot be more grateful! Hot Topic is definitely my favorite store, and that's thanks to these lovely ladies! :D read more

If you're the least bit claustrophobic, do not enter this ceiling-to-floor stacked venue. If you aren't, squeeze right into to a world of band t-shirts, satirical Disney paraphernalia, and gothic-fused clothing. There's stuff in here that brings out nostalgia for older generations and items that would titilate a fourteen year old raver or lonely outcast. Today I bought a very affordable red summer dress that had a sinister twist to suit my sense of humor. I like giving this store the occasional visit much like one does the circus: you never know what you'll see or if it will amaze or scar your eyes. read more

I just went here again recently and i must say that this place is stellar! I always have a good experience here the staff rocks! They also have killer deals on T-hirts and hats here. I always get asked "were did you get the shirt?!". I do more often shop online for good deals from hot topic but the store itself always has good deals on stuff from just a season ago. Those kind of deals you do not find online. When ever i go to the mall i always make a stop here. read more

Love this store,it's always my first stop when I get to the mall. Very friendly staff, pretty clean and well organized, good music. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because it's pretty cramped and hard to get through most of the store, it can also get fairly hot in there,I am not sure if they have a/c, but it would be nice sometimes. Went in here today and the staff was super sweet and nice, was really refreshing. There was a blonde girl that was super sweet and made sure all my accessories were bagged properly and another guy with awesome eyebrows that helped me get everything off the wall as well as a really tall guy with cool hair. Short Version, managers are horrible people who don't care about customers just profits and their personal ideals. As a customer turned employee I can safely say this place is a disaster. The manager had no clue how to run the store, let people go who were dedicated to work there for childish reasons and just skimped customer service. Worked there about a month no issue except this one girl who was constantly giving me attitude. So I thought I did something and didn't realize it. I was one of two guys who worked there so maybe she took something I did as flirting despite me having a gf? Tried talking to my supervisor who was an assistant manager. "Oh she's just like that." So I ask if they could talk to her about it, "oh no, she's our best seller. She's also 17 and going back to school so won't be here much longer" So I was told to suck it up in the name of sales. I had seen her multiple times be openly rude to customers, but they wanted to keep her... So two more months go by and I start getting less hours. Which was suprising because a lady had told my manager "customer service needs more people like him" after I helped her pick out a birthday gift for her husband and helped her because it was a star wars based one and I'm a huge Star Wars guy. "You help customers to much" (which was also boosting my sales for the record) So the same reason you wouldn't reprimand someone is the same reason you cut my hours? Now that felt hugely discriminatory and I believe it was because I was a guy and she didn't want to ruin the girls dynamic of the store. She would even tell us "if a customer asks if we have something and you know we don't just stand in the back and check your phone for a minute and come back no worries" Now this was last year in fall, now all of the employees who were there have quit save the managers. The return policy sucks! I had received a shirt from there from a friend for Christmas and wanted to return it but they didn't give me a gift receipt. At the store I work at we let people return things if you don't have the receipt so I expected the same thing here. All I wanted was merchandise credit which should have been fine since the tag was still on the shirt and the size sticker so obviously it wasn't stolen. So when I tried to return it the lady said that I needed to provide the phone number my friend used so I gave that to her and then she tries scanning the item but for some reason it didn't pop up even tho she works at another hot topic. So she basically denies my return not even allowing me to get store credit. The only way to do the return she said was my friend would have to be there. But I'm thinking to myself I don't want her knowing I'm returning it. Like seriously do they think I stole it? I'm surprised with the holidays this issue doesn't come up more. But that's stupid of them to deny this return. read more

I don't shop here much... Usually only around the holidays for gifts. They have a huge selection of Twilight/New Moon stuff, which caught my attention as I walked by the store. Decently priced. Excellent customer service. Friendly staff. No complaints here. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I shopped here during last Christmas 2014 and I must say, I've never been treated so unfair and insulted in a retail store in my life. During the last weekend before X'mas I decided to pick up some last minute gifts. My husband was at the register paying and I asked the lady working there should I add my items on my husband's bill or is it ok if I pay for my items separate. She CLEARLY said, she didn't mind ringing me up separately since I was with my husband. Then all of a sudden, I was approached by the MANAGER and I was informed that I had to go to the end of the line. I informed her I was with my husband and her worker said it was ok to ring me up separately, but she insisted that the line was long and it wasn't fair to the other customers. SERIOUSLY? GET A CLUE, if a husband and wife are together in line and your worker said it was ok to be rung up separately, YOU (manager - blonde lady with glasses) should have allowed that to happen. I didn't know that family members needed to be rung up separately from different cashiers EVEN IF they were TOGETHER IN LINE. I was not only embarrassed but truly insulted by her rude actions. If you need to shop at HOT TOPIC you should stay away from this store location, you might be asked to get in the back of the line on a busy day and end up wasting your time and $$$. Poor customer service from the manager but great service from the other hot topic employees. Maybe they need to school her on her work ethics and learn how to treat customers fairly. Keep it up and you will definitely lose customers.... read more

I used to shop here regularly, until it became the worse store ever, as a hot topic, specifically the employees being unprofessional and rude. I was just gathering some items like any other customer because I was shopping (obviously) so I asked one of the employees to see if I could use the fitting. She was definitely cool (probably the only nice one there) about it and took me to the back so she could open the door for the fitting room. I tried on the clothes I wanted to buy, but they didn't fit so I went back out to see if I could find other sizes to fit me more efficiently. I went ahead and gathered different sizes of the clothes and asked another employee if I could use the fitting room again. She (not sure what her name was, but I believe her hair was blueish or greenish teal? not fat, but a little pudgy) gave me a rudely sounding response and a straight forward face as if she were annoyed and did not want to help me out. She proceeds to take me to the back and before opening the fitting room door she asks me how many items I was attempting to try on acting as if I were going to steal. Really? A regular customer who spends a decent amount of money at THAT specific hot topic STEALING? I told her how many items I was going to try on and all. Another employee (she has stretched ears and tattoos on her face I believe) who was very unprofessional was very hesitant in helping me, I asked if I could try on some vests and you know when someone is being passive aggressive but I was like whatever. I was not sure if they both communicated to see if there was something suspicious going on with me, even though there wasn't but whatever. I ended up purchasing the $50 vest and some pants. This experience is completely ridiculous and the staff should be terminated. I am sure I am not the only customer who experienced this BUT I RATE THIS STORE ZERO IF I COULD. The lack of stars have nothing to do with the store itself, it's all in regards to the associate who was helping me. She gave a ton of unsolicited advice that was actually pretty offensive... I was interested in purchasing clothes and any time I would ask her to get a medium off the wall for me, she would tell me I should probably get a large or even an x-large. I don't know if I was looking particularly out of shape that day, or if she saw my larger chest and assumed the rest of me was equally large, but I have not had any issue fitting in a medium even with my recent weight gain. Sorry I don't weigh 75 pounds like the store associate did! The first time it happened, I politely said I would stick with the size that I requested. The second time, I asked for a medium and she gave me a large and an x-large saying they "ran small"... well the x-large looked as if I could fit two of me in it and the large wasn't much better, so I left them on a random rack, mortified that I was even considering her suggestion. Since she didn't give me a medium, I couldn't even buy the shirt. I ended up leaving with just one tank top , the medium which she had removed from the wall for me initially and had said I should consider a large. As I checked out, she reminded me that if it was too small I could always come back and exchange it as long as it was still in original condition, with a little laugh, and urged me to be sure I keep the receipt. I don't know if that meant that she thought my apparent fat @$$ would stretch it out and make it look distorted, or if she just meant the tag need to be on and the item not worn... but it again was offensive. As I write this, I am wearing that medium sized tank top and it is PLENTY roomy. It isn't even remotely tight on me, it's very flowy and long (even though I am also very tall). It's pretty appalling that anyone would treat a customer this way, in my opinion! I think she forgot that flattery is the best way to SELL and thus, I left with only one item when I was hoping to purchase many. I won't return to this store, that was honestly one of the most embarrassing experiences of my entire life! read more
