What a lovely experience the Hotel Bennett was. My wife and I came for our anniversary, and we were truly grateful for our decision to come here. The price of the rooms very much reflects the level of service and care you receive while you are here. We got the basic king sized room, but the space was more than enough for us, and the room itself was gorgeous. The staff here were some of the most friendly and attentive staff I have had the pleasure of meeting. Our rooms were cleaned and serviced 2-3 times a day, depending on whether we were in the room still. They leave little dark chocolates on the pillows for the evening, and it's such a lovely little touch. The bathtub was quite large, enough for both me and my wife to very comfortably bathe in together. The shower was quite spacious as well. The hotel itself was immaculate, so very clean and smelled wonderful throughout (a common issue we've had with many hotels we've stayed at). The lobby itself was very welcoming, and so very beautiful. We were so caught up in the beauty and comfort, we forgot to take more pictures of it all. Also, talk to the concierges here if this is your first visit to Charleston, especially Kevin. There people know everything you could want about this city. Kevin managed to get us into Halls Chophouse down the road that I had been trying to get a reservation for over a month with a night notice. They are very skilled at what they do, and will help make your trip even more memorable. My wife and I will definitely be back here again in future visits, and would recommend anyone wanting a beautifully comfortable stay to choose the Hotel Bennett.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities. Perfect for the holiday season and bringing family of all ages. They had some holiday festivities and the restaurants attached to it were great too. Overall, everyone was so friendly and accommodating and we were so glad to have stayed here! The rooms and bathrooms are genuinely beautiful.

afternoon tea at hotel Bennett was great! Everything inside was pink making it perfect for a bachelorette group. Tea and food were both tasty

The view from the rooftop at night was really nice. I enjoyed the dim lighting, and the intimate table seating making it a nice date spot. There was also space to lounge and enjoy cocktails with friends. During cooler weather they offer outdoor heaters which is really nice. The service was good overall. The staff made recommendations that were helpful. The menu seemed a bit limited but everything I tasted was flavorful and well made. Shockingly the highlight for me was the chicken wing appetizer and the sauce that accompanied it however I'm sure there is something on the menu that everyone can enjoy.

I went to the Pet Helpers gala at Hotel Bennett for 2024. The place is beautiful. The employees are so friendly and respectful. The beauty in this place is not exaggerated! Class class class! Be prepared! Come stunning! Leave mesmerized!

5 Star Hotel in which some ppl will get 5 star service, and others will not. I have had this review in my drafts for some time because I didn't want to post in haste while I was still emotional about my awful experience there. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are very nice, it's conveniently situated in Charleston for walking to some amazing restaurants and we were there during SEWA which was perfect. It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away and it turned into a stressful disaster. Valet is mandatory due to parking constraints in Charleston so we valet parked the car and checked in. Check in was smooth, we observed other ppl getting a glass of champagne on arrival, we did not. The bell hop was friendly and helpful and got us situated. There was one chocolate on the pillow, I guess we were supposed to split it. There were an assortment of snacks, water and candies for purchase in the room which I thought was very tacky for the price paid for the room. Alcohol and sodas were also available for purchase which is more typical and expected. Room was clean and had some books as a nod to the fact that the building used to be a library. Cute touch. On our second day we received a courtesy call from the manager on duty that our car had gotten "scratched" while it was being moved in the garage. He requested that we meet him downstairs to witness the scratch and that he would let us know at that time what the process was. We went downstairs and waited around for several minutes before the manager finally met us and the valet pulled the car around. The "scratch" was actually not a scratch at all and ended up requiring the replacement of the entire front panel. At that point the manager apologized and said not to worry, he would have the car parked and send us an email with further instructions. We were kinda of in shock because we thought it was going to be a scratch so we just kind of numbly said ok, and decided we would wait to make any remarks until we received the email. Because at that time we trusted that this upscale hotel would make things right. We took a walk and returned to read the email. It basically stated that the hotel would cover the repair and we could have one night free on our NEXT visit to Charleston. Some valet crashes a luxury car and the hotel basically says they'll pay for a repair. That's it. Umm, you just devalued our car, we now have to find a repair shop, get multiple quotes, be without the car while it's being repaired and drive a wrecked car in the meantime. Plus the delay of finding parts. and our relaxing weekend has turned into phone calls and aggravation. We thought we were being generous by giving them the opportunity to make things right ....and keep in mind this hotel has a rooftop bar, a restaurant, a regular bar, a bakery and a spa on site. And they didn't offer us complimentary dinner, drinks or even send us a bottle of wine as a nice gesture, until I mentioned it and then it took them a whole day and it was a cheap wine which was more insulting than sending nothing. Pitiful. If they had handled things well the first day, we would've been ok with it, not happy but ok. It felt like they were taking advantage of us since we were nice about it and didn't yell or get angry. We will not return there. If you go, you'll probably have a great experience, just expect to pay a lot for basically a nice room. And be prepared to split the one tiny chocolate on your pillow.

My friends and I are visiting and decided to check out Camellias the tea shop inside Hotel Bennett. First off this place is just stunning and so beautiful. We were a party of 12 and my goodness. I stayed at this wonderful hotel for a weekend trip with my daughter. From the time we stepped through the front doors until the time we left, the experience was exceptional. The staff, what can I say? They are the most friendly and helpful staff I've ever experienced at a hotel. Each one of them, welcomed us with a smile. The food options in the hotel are excellent. From the beautiful pink bar to the coffee/pastry shop never want to leave.

Hotel Bennett is amazing . The pink champagne bar is gorgeous. The staff at front desk ( Drew, Bernard) were very professional and helpful. Fresh flowers are through out the hotel . The rooms are immaculate with a nightly turn down service. Breakfast was perfect and our server Ali was so courteous and the perfect server. I highly recommend Hotel Bennett. The location is in the heart of Charleston with wonderful shops and great restaurants !

There were a lots of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. They boast about their butler service, which is pretty unique in the United States (akin to the resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean). We only stayed one night and did not make the most out of it. Our butler was very pleasant and offered detailed recommendations regarding restaurants in the area. The staff is welcoming and friendly. We arrived early and had to wait a few hours until our room was ready. That was a slight nuisance as it was a cold and rainy October weekend in Charleston. Luckily they had plenty of umbrellas for us to use. The welcome cocktails were a nice touch when we were finally able to check-in. Other nice touches include the complimentary drinks, candies and snacks that were already waiting in the room. The turndown service also included chocolate and a small sweet alcoholic drink / shot. Lastly, the included room service breakfast in the morning elevates the stay. A lot of good things. However, I thought the rooms themselves were just okay and a bit dated. Our friends stayed at a boutique hotel with vaulted ceilings and its own kitchenette for less money. Another disappointment was that we booked a room with a small outdoor courtyard, but were given a regular room. Given the weather, we probably wouldn't have used the outdoor space at all, but it would be good to get what you paid for. Overall very good service and location. They have a nice bar by the lobby that we did not make use of. The rooms themselves are just okay and on the small size. I would probably stay somewhere else next time I visit Charleston, even though I have nothing bad to say about The Spectator. Maybe my expectations were too high with a 4.8 / 5 average Yelp score. I just think there's better value elsewhere.

The nice amenities, decent gym and friendly staff are what creates the environment for a pleasant experience. Two of these were met and the friendly staff, was mostly there. . .but one sour apple truly changed the course of our stay. Even my wife, who worked once upon a time in hospitality at Kiawah Resort, was started by the interactions from The Loutrel Hotel staff member. Long story short. The daily complimentary breakfast was served. I accidentally went to place the granola lid on the yogurt, my wife told me that was the wrong lid and I went to correct. From across the room the breakfast attendant yelled, "sir that doesn't go there." Startled, I immediately removed it and placed it accordingly. I laughed it off. Moments later I went to sit my breakfast down where my drink was located. Same attendant, "you're not even sitting at the right table with your wife." Again, my error, but don't call me out twice in one morning. It's a small lobby, so many staff members overheard the interaction. Nothing was done by other management. The next morning, I walked down to look at breakfast. I saw the same attendant and said, good morning. She looked at me but wasn't pleasant in her response. Unlike the rest of her colleagues at the restaurant who are polite and kind, the same customer service I expect and provide to my customers. Breakfast offered salmon with some type of eggs or shellfish. I can't eat shellfish, allergic. So, I went to grab a biscuit at a local coffee shop and a coffee. We came back to the hotel and sat our food down. The same rude attendant came over, nudged my wife in her back and said, "you can't have this here, cross contamination." So, I left. Allowed my wife to eat her yogurt in the area. Funny enough, my wife asked where the utensils were, because every table had them. Same attendant rudely, pointed to another table for her to get them. I should have just sat down and ate my food as I didn't see any signs for "no outside food." Either way, stay somewhere else. It's unfortunate that a hotel like this allows such rudeness from a staff member. I did report this to the manager, and online but was met with more passivity. Comped two nights of valet. Honestly, it wasn't enough. I would never stay here again and it ended the trip on such a sour note.
