Stayed here for two nights for my birthday. The staff was so kind and friendly! Doorman offered to take a few pictures for us one night when we were the only ones in the foyer. Bellmen had friendly conversations with us while they carried our luggage. Everyone treated us as if they actually cared about us, not like they were just doing their jobs. It's also just a short walk to Hall's Chophouse where we had a delicious dinner and Sweet Belgium for yummy, unique waffles. The room was beautiful, as was the rest of the hotel! The beds were super comfortable with lots of good pillows. Bookcases in our room were full of books and I found one quickly that I enjoyed reading during our stay. Truly felt like a home away from home with new friends. Would definitely stay here again! read more

If you are looking for a wonderful hotel in Charleston, this is your place. They spared no expense with this hotel - the rooms are well appointed and the service is impeccable. The price is decent for what you get. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star review is the hair dryer situation in the bathroom. They could have gotten better ones - you may want to bring your own. Beautiful hotel, happy to see that people like to check out new spots immediately. I like a big crowd. The pink bar type area (I think called the champagne room?) is really pretty and a chill spot. They allow babies (YAY) and I was glad everyone else wasn't hating on us having our kiddo out (I'm looking at you, you Judgey D.C. people) it's 10:30 am and my kid is still sleeping. Yup he parties with us and lets us sleep in. Go hate. The staff is lovely! 99.9 percent of them were lovely. There's one guy I'd like to point out. I'm sure his intentions weren't bad but he was the guy hovering around the pink lounge (let me call it that, you get the point) and tickled my baby once. He was being very nice kept telling us we are a beautiful family and beautiful kid etc etc ( maybe too nice ? I'm not used to it) I let it slide but it annoyed me to no end. Tickling is torture and no one wants an elderly man tickling a baby. Common sense. So when he tried to do it again I told him politely please don't tickle and he got all offended. Loved the ambience here, loved the socializing aspect. I've tried the fried fish from the lobby lounge, it was good. Will try more. Love love loved this hotel (and bonus it isn't one of the "haunted" ones in Charleston lol) the service was great and it was very clean. Bed and pillows were very comfy and the bathroom had a lovely big tub. The rooftop bar, downstairs bar, and pool were also amazing. The pool is small but nice and has a good view. We got a massage at the spa which was lovely but definitely pricey for them not having a wet area. Would definitely stay here again. read more

The building itself is amazing, and the rooms are great and everything you can ask for and more. However, the pool is very small and they have about a 1:1 cabana to pool chair ratio. We were never told you had to reserve cabanas and what the price is. Needless to say when we got up there, of course the 10 chairs were taken. The rooftop bar and champagne lounge were great, however, they close at 9pm!!!! Who closes a bar that early? We saw multiple people try to go to the champagne bar (which serves all types of alcohol) but were told to just go to the hotel lobby bar. My biggest issue was when we got back to our room at 10pm the room wasn't cleaned. We asked 3x throughout the day and we called down again to see what the deal was they said, "were limiting staffs entry into rooms, were not doing cleanings." We of course respect this and have no qualms with it, but just say it upfront. Overall, solid hotel but if you're not going to clean and open hotel bars till later you're better off in an AirBNB for 1/4 for the price. read more

The attention to detail is exquisite! The valet, front desk staff, and management are all incredible! I also had the pleasure of visiting the spa and front desk attendant, Claudia, was the most pleasant human being I've ever encountered!! Stayed at the Bennett June 9 and 10. When I returned home and received my emailed receipt, there was a charge that I did not recognize on the bill. I have tried calling a couple of times for an explanation of the charge and have neither be able to speak to a person (only voicemail) or have I received a call back. What a wonderful hotel. It just might be the best I have ever stayed in. The staff is fantastic. They pay attention to every detail to make your stay the most enjoyable. Everything about the hotel is first class. The bed was amazing. I haven't been sleeping well lately and my entire stay I slept like a baby. The hotel was very quiet as well. The bathrooms are spacious with a huge tub, which I actually used. I never do at home. But I decided to try it and loved it. It was a great place to stay after a long day of meetings and sightseeing. Food was good however Hotel service in the bar and restaurants had multiple service failures. It was a comedy of errors from the champagne bar, to restaurant and lobby bar. I have stayed in a lot of luxury hotels but this was the best of them all. A beautiful lobby and the Champagne Bar is unbelievably gorgeous. Every staff member is courteous and helpful. I felt totally pampered but not smothered. I had forgotten my comb & brush & a staff member went out of their way to make sure they were delivered to my room. The rooms are amazing! Beautiful bathrooms & everything needed for a luxurious sleep. If you are visiting Charleston this hotel should be your first choice. read more

Enjoyed my stay so much! From the beautiful room and accommodations, we were greeted by Zeke who took care of our luggage and gave us great information about places to go and what to see! The concierge Jenna helped book all of our fun spooky and historical tours! We enjoyed every night outside under the stars enjoying drinks and conversation, and the champagne caviar bar was so amazing! The rooftop bar and Breezy were so much fun! And the rooftop pool, omgosh we had so much fun and I'm so sorry if I am wrong but I believe her name was Hannah, she was so great always on top of whether we needed another drink a new towel if the umbrella needed to be up or not. It is our second visit to the Bennet and will definitely be our last. For a hotel that calls itself a luxury, it is anything but. It is a glorified Marriott. However a Marriott you understand what you are paying for-our room was almost 700$ a night here. The issue were endless- Our room was never cleaned, after asking twice for it to be done while we were out/We ordered a risotto for dinner from room service which was so filled with salt it was inedible/there was no remote control for the TV in the room/ the view is of a wall to a center "courtyard"- Just anything but luxurious. Go to the Wentworth Mansion-same price and beautiful. read more

My daughter and I were really looking forward to visiting Camellia's Champagne Bar on my birthday on July 17th, but sadly it was a GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT! The room was lovely, our waitress delightful $18.00 glass of champagne tasty, but sadly there were so many RUDE, LOUD and OBNOXIOUS women on their Bachelorette Party it made the experience awful! They were acting as if they were in a collage-freshman-bar, and they should be embarrassed by their behavior. Unfortunately our kind and soft-spoken waitress was unable to do anything about these "guests" despite our request to ask these guest to stop shouting from table to table, cramping 8-10 around a 4-top table she was helpless! My 2 suggestions: Mgmt should set a guideline for only 4 guest per table, and at a minimum "comp'd" our check for over priced beverage and dessert! We went their knowing it would be pricy, because of the elegant and pleasing atmosphere we were willing to overpay, however this was a HUGE disappoint! Shame on you Mgmt of The Bennet! read more

A wonderful anniversary! We decided to take a little weekend getaway to Charleston because I had been wanting to go for some time. The hotel had just opened and was absolutely beautiful! The rooftop pool is excellent and they serve drinks and food as well as have a cabana section. The hotel is beautiful, every room is well appointed and the guest suites do not disappoint! The staff are all friendly and accommodating. I asked the concierge where to eat, drink, shop and get a blow out! The bartender at the main bar is awesome! I forget his name- possibly David? He gave us reccos for our boat excursion the next day. The restaurant is a five star dining experience. They even offered me a black napkin because I had on black. Truly 5 star. The ONLY gripe I have is I don't think they thought about bathroom placement when they built it because there is only one downstairs which is a far walk for elderly or tired patrons. Other than that Camellias was adorable (the pink room) and the rooftop pool were great. I would 100% recommend it and stay again and again. read more

Wonderful experience in the lobby bar It was a drizzly night, and my partner and I decided to duck in out of the rain. The first thing that struck us was the friendliness of the door staff...so much so that at first we did not notice the wonderful flowers and lobby layout. After gawking a bit, we decided that it would be far smarter to sit at the bar and have some cocktails and wait for the rain to end. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Knew just when to be chatty and when to back away. Two delicious cocktails later we went out into the still wet night - having decided that we just had to stay at The Bennett the next time we were in town. Give it a try. The hubby and I stopped in for drinks before our dinner out. Ordered cocktails and shareable at Gabrielles on the main floor. This hotel is gorgeous. Service was outstanding. Karina was our server who was extremely professional and friendly. Had martinis that were delicious and shared the crab cake...WOW...highly recommend it. This is a nice relaxed yet classy area for drinks and you can be dressed up (we were) or smart casual . Look forward to returning. read more

We stayed here during our wedding weekend for valentines and also had our bridal party stay who didn't live in town. Great experience from Kevin the bell hop and Chelsea the bartender! They have a cafe on the ground level that sells pastries that are fresh and delicious. Tried the almond croissant - outstanding! Crustless quiche a bit too moist but still tasty. Ordered tea. Although the water was not that perfect 195 degrees, they gladly brought out more hot water. They want to do a great job. My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Bennett mid December. Let me first say we are frequent travelers and very picky at our accommodations. The hotel we stay at makes or breaks our experience in that city . Hotel Bennett exceeded our very high standards. Not being to Charleston in years we did much research on all the luxury hotels . We even took an Uber from the airport to check out five other luxury hotels in the historic district . With our standards being very high . Our Hands down pick over all the rest was hotel Bennett . First of the location is ideal right on king street with Marion square right next door . Do you like new modern with classic traditional finishes. Marble thick moldings top notch finishes like new throughout open lobby champagne bar is gorgeous. Open bar in main area with a fabulous vibe . The roof has a pool and bar with outside 360 degree views of entire Charleston. Magnificent. The rooms are super clean like brand new and the most impressive baths with stand alone tub and separate rain shower . We experienced a couple of missteps in our stay and we brought it to their attention and it was corrected immediately. It was evident to us that they are committed to making sure your stay is five star . I could keep going about the staff and how accommodating they were . Alex took care of us and handled the challenges we had in a fabulous way . Follow up by Ryan to make sure we were completely satisfied was like no other . We will be returning to this great city and no doubt staying at hotel Bennett. There is no way you will get better in Charleston . Top notch luxury !!! read more

Totally disgusted with my experience at the hotel. My parents stayed there for 5 days and I visited them quite a bit. Room was perfect except sink handles were broken and it took 3 days and two visits by staff to fix. Bathroom toilet wasn't cleaned properly, soap wasn't refreshed, other things as well, but the topper was one afternoon we sat in a couch adjacent to bar two feet, but we didn't know they didn't serve you in that spot none of the waiters would look at us or come over, even though they served us the day before. So we had to go to the bar and beg for our 16 dollar glasses of wine, we asked the bartender don't you serve on this couch and he said technically we don't but we do it all the time. So he us our glasses of wine, but we didn't get napkins or water like the other patrons and he never came back to ask if we wanted anything else or the check. So once again we had to go to the bar to ask for the check. I made a complaint and talked to the manager and they said they would get back to us on this terrible experience and the other things wrong with the hotel. She never phoned back and when my elderly parents checked out nothing was said to them. Terrible experience and not worth the hefty price to stay there. read more

I had very high hopes for our stay at Hotel Bennett. Sadly, I wish we would have just postponed our trip until after Covid 19. I completely understand and am sympathetic to any businesses operating now with all of the restrictions. We were told upon check-in that rooms would only be serviced if requested at the front desk and that the mini bar had been removed and ice was only available upon request. We requested ice, but it was never delivered. On our second day, we were completely out of toilet paper and were hoping to get fresh towels. My husband stopped by the front desk on our way out for the day and requested service. Upon our return, our room was exactly the way we left it, not serviced for the day, but we did find a single roll of toilet paper that someone sat on the counter of the bathroom. I never imagined that I would have trouble getting ice and adequate toilet paper in a 5 star hotel. read more

Lots to say - came in on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of cocktails before heading home to Mt Pleasant. Beautiful bar and atmosphere. But - there were kids climbing on outdoor furniture and a couple at the bar with a stroller. Excuse me but I do not want to spend my quality time and money around children in a bar. I have raised my kids, I am done with that. Please do not allow them. Next - our cocktails were great but super duper expensive - and they were served in a plastic cup and for 18$ a pop quite small. I spilled a little of mine and at least 4 wait staff walked by, looked down and never did a thing to clean it up. So there was ice on the floor right where I was standing so that I had to shift around to avoid slipping. One more thing - the olives in my husbands martini had no flavor at all, I tasted one and it was bitter. Thankfully one of the bartenders acknowledged it and threw them out. He should have replaced the drink at no charge. So - pretty, pretty bar, needs some wisdom if they want to compete in downtown Chucktown. Probably won't go back, what a shame. read more
