This hotel had limited…read morereviews and I was about to book the Clarion but gave Comfort a chance. **Location** Located right outside the airport and can be seen from the SAS Lounge. **Check-In** Flew in from Barcelona and landed around 23:00. Self-check in with over 10 kiosks. In-person check in also available. **Accommodations** Simple bedroom with no closet. It makes sense especially if a majority of the folks are staying here are on a layover. **Amenities** Comfy bed, shower amenities. Lots of seating around down in the Lobby and good design. Didn't do breakfast but it looked packed. **Local Attractions** Since it was a layover, I wanted to maximize my time after a couple hours of sleep. I walked to the airport and didn't do enough research on whether to take a train or light rail. I ended up taking a train which took me to Central Station by Tivoli Gardens. I got to central station around 5 AM and was wondering why there were so many people so around and so energized, guess the clubs ends late in Copenhagen. I walked from the train station to one of the longest shopping streets in Europe 'Strøget' and browsed the window displays. When I got to the end of the street, I was at the famous Nyhavn waterfront. I walked across the bridge 'Inderhavnsbroen' to Lagkagehuset for some Danish baked goods/coffee for breakfast. I then did a 25 minute walk to the Nørreport light rail to to a train back to the airport. 2 1/2 - 3 hour covered a lot of ground in the morning. Looking to come back again, possibly for a Michelin experience!

We liked…read moreseveral things about the hotel--nice rooms, clean everywhere, friendly and efficient staff, many little spots indoors and out for gathering in small groups, ice water/juice stations throughout, delicious breakfasts and lunches, etc. We had trouble keeping the room cool enough though, as it was unseasonably warm and humid while we were there. They, as many hotels these days, has only a duvet to cover up. That was far too warm for me, so a light sheet would've been nice to have. The pillows were too soft for our taste, but I'm sure they were perfect for some of the guests. The biggest drawback was its location. It was quite a walk to get anywhere, or you'd have to pay for a taxi or try to figure out the bus system in a different country. They did have bikes for rent if you were so inclined.

I staff was excellent, very helpful with local info, and their hospitality made wish at times that I had stayed at the Moxy. The restaurant, although basic, was still pretty solid. Solid bar snacks and local beer was just what the travel doctor ordered.

Check in went smoothly and front desk staff were quite nice and helpful throughout our stay. The Standard Double room was good size and very comfortable. It had a small closet (could've used more hangars), a safe, desk and comfy lounge chair. No problems with the AC and we could leave the windows open as our room was located away from the street. The TV was located parallel to the bed so we always had to turn our heads to watch. The bathroom had nice counter space and roomy. We were not a fan of the shower which was the European style with the half glass that allowed too much water to get all over the floor. Breakfast got fairly busy and luckily there were two buffet areas to split up the guests. Breakfast every morning was the same food and after awhile it was a bit disappointing that there was no variety at all during our stay. However, the food was filling. The vegetarian section had an interesting selection that included sandwich meat equivalent, mushroom paste from a tube, hummus, etc. There also was a good selection of non-dairy milks. Laundry area was located in the basement and we had to inform the front desk in advance since these were the same washer and dryer used by the hotel cleaning staff. Each load cost roughly 50DKK so it was not cheap. Detergent was automatically injected into the washer so no need to bring or buy your own. If one opted to skip housekeeping then you got a 100DKK voucher each day to use on drinks or snacks at the bar. One caveat there was always a different person each morning making the drinks at the bar and the espressos tasted slightly different each time. Also one day it came in a glass and another day it was in a smaller mug. Luggage storage was available and it was up to the guest to bring and retrieve their luggage from the storeroom. Access to the room was via your keycard but of course it didn't work when we came back in the afternoon to retrieve them. The would be a likely return stay if we come back to Copenhagen.

When we checked-in, the front desk staff were friendly and provided us with lots of local tips for our time in the city. They also let us know that for everyday we opt out of room service, we would receive either a voucher for the bar, a discounted hotel bike rental, or a complimentary beauty product. We opted to skip out on room service most days and received a 100 DKK voucher to spend on drinks at the bar, which were very reasonably priced. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Though we booked a smaller room we still felt like we had plenty of space for two people, and the room had an AC unit which came in handy on the more humid days. The hotel breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. I feel like complimentary hotel breakfasts are becoming more and more scarce, so to have a full spread of breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruits, coffee, and tea was super convenient. One of the best features of the Absalon is probably their location, it's walking distance from so many restaurants and attractions (including Tivoli Gardens) and a short 3 minute walk from central station, so getting around was a breeze. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Copenhagen!

Zoku Copenhagen is located minutes away from the Metro. Check-in was available on the tablet or with staff. As the total for my stay was different on the tablet vs my confirmation e-mail, I checked-in with staff and was informed that I had been upgraded to an XL Loft. One of the check-in tablets was out of service during my visit. The top floor features a restaurant, chill-out zone, and cafe while lofts are located on floors 1-4. There is a laundrette, locker room, as well as a shower room in the basement. The HVAC in the loft worked well once the windows were closed and the loft was occupied. The loft had a couple burnt out lights, above the kitchen, as well as above the bed. The XL loft was spacious and featured fast and free wifi. The kitchenette was fully stocked with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, electric stovetop, as well as pots, pans, plates and cutlery, There was a big table for working along with a soft for chilling out. The XL loft also featured an in-room safe. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping area also had HVAC vents.

From my perspective, the "cons" of citizenM are room size, best for traveling alone or with a partner (in this case, my spouse) with whom you enjoy sharing very close quarters, and no coffee service in the room. The "pros" include outstanding location and view, very good climate and lighting control, very good breakfast buffet, and large dining area that doubles as a "living room" when you need it. We loved biking around the city! Cost was slightly more than other places we researched but very easy for pickup and drop off! Cons -Toilet was not properly cleaned for the duration of our stay (looked mildewy underneath the rim of the seat). Disappointing. -Weird system re. room keys - guests are asked to leave their key with the front desk when leaving the building, however not asked for ID when coming back to pick it up. We only stayed for 3 days so I'd be very surprised if the staff (which rotated) remembered which room we were staying in. I don't mind dropping off the key but wish the system for picking them up was more secure - I got the feeling it would be easy for someone to walk in off the street, say a random room number, and get access to the room. Other -There's a breakfast offered in the restaurant downstairs but the cost is NOT included in the stay. We ate elsewhere which we thought was better value. -Rooms are very basic - slightly older furnishings, no fridge, coffeemaker etc (common in Europe). Our room did have a small safe for passport/valuables. -The main elevator is older and very small (max 3 people). We didn't use it, just took the stairs to the second floor, but something to be aware if you are looking for an accessible hotel. -Location on Aboulevard is decent. It's a loud/busy street but lots of hidden gems in terms of bars and restaurants within a 15 minute walking radius. Short walk (10 minutes) to Forum metro stop.
