Crocchette di granchio Dungeness Crab Cakes
Dee A.

I had such a beautiful evening this past weekday @ Hotel Sorrento. The staff is so amazing and Giovanni is so accommodating and attentive to the guests. I had no idea the food was so good - although I only had the Crocchette di granchio (crab cake) it was PERFECT with a surprisingly tasty honey crisp apple relish. As a local I am excited to visit again soon.

The Ferragosto party at Hotel Sorrento was pure magic. I had the pleasure of attending this midsummer celebration, beautifully produced by Jaclyn in collaboration with Hotel Sorrento. From the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into an Italian summer dream--linen-draped tables, twilight aerialists, coastal scents, and Vespa photo moments all brought la dolce vita to life in Seattle. The evening was thoughtfully divided into two experiences: La Tavola, an intimate Italian dinner with wine pairings and live music, followed by La Festa, a vibrant open-air celebration with curated bites, wine tastings, and beach cabanas. Every detail was intentional, and the atmosphere was both elegant and welcoming. This was one of the best social events I've attended in Seattle. I made great connections, enjoyed exceptional food and service, and was impressed by how affordable the tickets were, given the quality of the experience. Huge thanks to Jaclyn and John B for creating such an unforgettable night. I'll definitely be watching for future events like this. 15 out of 10 experience!

Gorgeous hotel! We stayed here the night before our Alaskan cruise. Front Desk Attendant was so courteous and considerate. She understood how we didn't intend to check in early but took a chance since we've been traveling since 3 am. Rooms are clean and well cleaned. Old world glamour in the heart of Seattle!

Elevator

This is an older hotel, you can tell by the decor and style of the place. Absolutely beautiful structure and details of the building, even if you don't like older style decor. Even the elevator was gorgeous! Checking in, they ask for your ID and card and give you a candy. Staff was nice, but they didn't direct me to the elevator so I entered the wrong hallway and was lost, but eventually went back and found it. There's a restaurant downstairs on the right side that is not included with your room, but offers breakfast, lunch and dinner to anyone that wants to pay for it. The room itself was a decent size for a hotel, and everything looked maintained except for the temperature control. I came here in April so it was pretty warm, but the cool option did not do anything. I ended up opening the window in hopes that it would cool down but it did not help. The bathroom also had some hairs on the towels and on the wall in the shower, they did not clean as thoroughly as they should have. But the bed itself was comfortable, and the door was sturdy so I felt safe despite being by myself that night. Overall I wasn't crazy about my stay because it was too hot in my room.

It's been so wonderful to get reacquainted with Sorrento now that Giovanni is F&B director! Can't wait to experience the summer program in courtyard!

The penthouse of the Hotel Sorento was the setting for a very special occasion that I was honored to organize. I was very astounded by it! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The experience was so much better than I had anticipated that it left me with an indescribable sense of elation. This place is fantastic, and all of my guests rave about it. I'd like to thank Kyle and Jessica for helping to make this such a memorable occasion. I am still floating on air; it all seems surreal. I can confidently say that anyone who chooses Hotel Sorento as the site of their event will not be let down. To be continued...

Upside down bedding. Sheet on top of comforter??

This is an historic luxury hotel. It does not have all the modern niceties but has been cleaned up well. Floors squeak, takes forever to get hot water (but it does show up!), spacious room, etc. All things you'd expect from an old place. Unfortunately, there were a couple operational aspects that just couldn't be overlooked. After being checked in quickly at an empty front desk, we found dirty towels left on the floor and hanging on the door in the room. Ok - cleaning staff missed them. Fine. Dial '0' as instructed and ... nothing. No answer. I wandered back downstairs to an empty front desk. Where's that promised, "We're here 24/7"? I wait and soon someone arrives. "I'll let housekeeping know". We step out for a couple hours (it's 7:00pm) and the towels haven't moved when we arrive. Ended up putting them out in hallway just to get them out of the room. Second, the bed was made ... upside down. Who puts the sheet on top of the comforter?!? Weird. We just remade the bed ourselves. The bar area is beautiful but only open on some nights - and not open past 10:00. The restaurant was decent, with a limited menu. On another trip we'll try somewhere else. Oh - notice the carpet in the elevator. Changes each day! How fun is that?!?

Gorgeous new place on the block!!…read more Stunning new event space right in south lake union/ downtown with sweeping lake union views. Views alone were worth a trip or 4!! Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. Overall, this was such a fun place.I came to check out the space: left with all the food and fun.The space, the team, the design, the music!! And that Photo Booth: all are essential part of throwing an epic event. All events should be this fun!! I guess they will be if you throw them here: weddings, birthdays, corporate events, sweet 16th. I wouldn't mind coming here for a photoshoot: hello contents!!Or just a fun anything event.Did I mention the views?? Ahh the possibilities!!!

We had the most wonderful experience having our wedding at Cathedral Ballard! The space was…read moreincredibly bright due to the huge windows, the exposed brick was lovely, and the candles were stunning. This venue is exceptional for so many reasons: not only is it a non-profit venue, but they light over 100 candles for your event and provide so many things that you would typically need to rent at other venues (chairs, tables, glassware, etc.). Also there are so many things for your guests to do in downtown Ballard if your wedding is mainly out-of-town guests like ours was. Nate and the team were so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend our special day at Cathedral Ballard - it was truly so special!!! :)

Came here for an event being thrown by a local business - Papa Chango for their anniversary…read more Cathedral is an event space so you can have wedding receptions, local art showing, VIP party and more. There is a ground level and an upstairs. Upon coming in staff greeted us and informed us of the going-Ons upstairs. There were 3 bartenders all of whom were very nice. Lots of seating and small music and dancing area. The food was self-serve, buffet style, catered La Cabana. The salsa and guac were good and was nicely laid out. Cathedral donates much of the earnings made from the use of the space and are also known for their candles which I've received as a gift and can say are nicely scented and benefit causes. So, if you see one in a local shop or otherwise it makes a good gift. Not sure they sell them at this actual location of Cathedral though. If you 're looking to host an event or know someone who wants to, Cathedral has a decent space to be rented out with nice staff who will help manage it.

The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. GTB is very LGBTQ-affirming, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. We're still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and effortless everything felt. Georgetown Ballroom truly gave us the wedding of our dreams.
