As an update to my review - I am still a member going on a year and I feel great! Everyday I feel…read morestronger. Classes are varied and set at appropriate levels, skill wise. The instructors are all kind and helpful when it comes to making corrections.

Joseph Pilates said, "In 10 sessions, you'll feel the difference. In 20 sessions, you'll see the…read moredifference, and in 30 sessions, you'll have a whole new body." I've been a member of the Allen location for over 3 months now, and I definitely feel the difference and see the changes in my body. Now, I'm truly ready to challenge myself and work towards a new body. Pilates has improved my sleep, mental health, and overall energy. I'm nearly 60, and your results have everything to do with what you put into it. It's a balance between pilates/ healthy eating/ mindset. Today, I signed up for the unlimited plan, and I'm ready to make this part of my lifestyle. Signing up for the unlimited plan means you can go to another location ... however, this part is a little tricky. For example, when you Google Club Pilates, several locations show up, right. They are owned by different people, this means you are restricted to the studios they own. Although I've enjoyed most of my classes at the Allen location, today I decided to shake up my routine and visit the East McKinney location. Fantastic location!! Amazing personable warm invite from the front desk manager, talented pilates instructor (Kaylan), and the same beautiful environment. I will definitely be going back. Don't let pilates intimidate you. If you've thought about doing it, try it. No matter your health issues or age, there's a class for you. There are classes as simple as stretching, balance, and restoring. Then there are classes that will challenge you -- each level is different -- and you will work your way up. You'll never be in a class that's above your fitness level, your safety is a priority, and CP wants you to evolve in a healthy way. So ... if you decide to get a membership, you have a lot to look forward to!!! One, the Club Pilates app is amazing, and it's easy to use -- pick a date and book your favorite classes in real-time. The lines of communication are wide open and always professional. You can call or text anytime during business hours. If you need to book, cancel, rebook, or ask a question, you always get a friendly voice that will help you. Two, the instructors are trained experts in pilates. They love their jobs, and this comes through in how friendly and helpful they are. I have not attended a class where I felt lost or treated like a number. Each instructor is different in their approach, style, music, and how they make it fun. No doubt, you will be addicted to certain classes and instructors. Three, CP makes every effort to create a sense of community by connecting its members with themed days, tiny events, post stories on their Facebook page, etc. An extra added benefit if this means something to you. Take advantage of their intro class!!! It's free. You can click the form on this page, call directly, or sign up through their website. This is your chance to take a peek, feel the vibe, see the environment, try the reformer, and ask questions. Fair warning: Afterwards, there is a quick sales pitch. They won't answer questions about a new membership over the phone. Dont feel put off by this. The front desk area is super busy, and this can cause misunderstandings. You deserve the one-on-one attention, so book an intro class. You're going to love it! If you do decide to sign up, and you feel like I've inspired you to go, PLEASE tell them Melinda S. sent you. Another cool perk is that there is a referral fee. I sure would appreciate it if you'd mention my name. Meanwhile, feel free to DM me if you'd like to chat about it. M.

Earlier in the week I went to Katie's 5:30 AM vinyasa class! Be aware if you arrive right on time early mornings the door may be locked, it seems to be an automatic feature since no one was checking people in the lobby. Katie saw me and immediately let me and another girl in. The yoga studio is smaller than I'm used to but it made for an intimate session and Katie was able to quickly make adjustments. She is pretty hands on, which as a local fellow fitness instructor I am very used to. But it may be something you mention if you are not keen on people touching you. Proper alignment is important to me in yoga, especially a faster paced class, and honestly this has been very healing for me after years of running my body into the ground with ultramarathon and endurance racing. But since I've been training for a fall trail race (!) I am getting back into my namaste practice. They have other amazing things there as well as Pilates and reformer looking machines. They are also on Class Pass so I will be dropping back in to visit.

I think the studio owner is very knowledgeable and grounded in providing a highly principled and safe space for everyone. I have had minor strains and postural issues for a while now that are finally improving and virtually asymptomatic after a few months of one on one private lessons. Other pilates and fitness category studios can be very high energy and are mostly a lot of fun, but they don't offer much individual feedback or correction, and discomfort from old strains or poor posture tends to get worse without someone who knows what they're doing look out for you. Monthly memberships and barre, yoga, etc are also offered here which is a great plus for when your wellness attention span is in need of variety. I've been here off and on now for over 2 years, and it's been absolutely worthwhile. Lela might be the most cheerful front desk staff I get to run into all the time lol. But in general also, everyone here is great.
