    Chirashi bowl

So happy a sushi place opened up near my home! The staff was very friendly and asked if I had any questions. The seating area was very clean and the tables had all the condiments for your meal. I tried the hamachi lovers, Aloha poke bowl, chirashi, and Teri chicken bowl. The fish tasted really fresh and not "fishy". The Teri chicken was very good, not dry or too salty! My kids mopped that bowl up! And sometimes they bring in uni from Hokkaido and sell mini bowls with ikura. You can ask for all uni but it will cost more. Overall, Hou Fish Market is a great place to get your sushi fix quickly! They have sushi platters for your pot lucks and parties! Also a good selection of boba drinks and teas. My fav is the calamansi/honey drink. Oh and lastly, they have a doggy menu!

I wanted fresh fish and boy was I in for a treat. The cashier gave me some recommendations but ultimately I went with my favorites - salmon and spicy ahi bomb. It's peaceful and clean inside and the seating is ample. Lots of parking in the lot. Now the food was so fresh! I loved the salmon. It was fatty and delicious. The spicy ahi was also spectacular. I brought rainbow roll for my husband to go.

We visit Hou Fish in Waipahu regularly because it's a solid spot for great quality fish and udon. Service is friendly and quick, and we love that the store is dog friendly. They have a dog menu so your pup can enjoy a treat too! We ordered the seared salmon bowl, California roll, super volcano roll, and honey calamansi drink. The seared salmon bowl was definitely the star for me. If you love aburi-style salmon, this will hit the spot. The salmon was buttery soft and literally melted in my mouth. The super volcano roll had a nice balance of flavor. It not too spicy, and has a sweet-savory tang from the sweet chili sauce. The California roll was solid too, with a generous amount of imitation crab. We also tried the honey calamansi drink, which was light, refreshing, and a perfect pairing for the food. Parking is plentiful. The store is very clean. There is a fridge to buy canned/bottled drinks. Definitely a spot worth checking out, especially if you're a sushi fan or want to bring your dog along for a bite!

Adorable to go sushi and sashimi spot with a couple of indoor tables. Food was served very quickly and the staff were welcoming. The types of fish offered is limited, but everything was fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. Also, try the passion fruit sparkling water. Generous sized and very refreshing on a hot day!

Simple menu, fresh ingredients, good quality portion, quick service, plenty of space to sit inside. I chose to dine out, it was delicious!

Wow, what a great place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We've requested substituting certain fish items and they didn't hesitate to do so. I've visited here several times recently and I got to say this place is very consistently fresh with great flavor. We also tried their Udon noodles and again very firm and tasty. I have tried almost everything on the menu and no complaints on my end. So now it's our regular go to fish market. The market has modern a look and very clean.

Ordering online is easy. We always do take out and get the same platter. So good. Never disappoints.

Poke is one of my favorite dishes, poke bowls are frequent choice. I tried Hou Fish Market yesterday and loved it so much I came back today. The poke was super fresh and very well made. The chunks were cut perfect the, the flavors were on point and the portion was good enough. First day I had a hamachi poke bowl, today I had a udon combo. The son was ok but again the poke was awesome. Today I had spicy salmon and it was delicious.

Went to try this place for the first time. This place took over a precious boba spot in Waipahu. The poke was fresh, and seasoned okay. The presentation was done nicely. & looks like they offer boba drinks as well. The prices are reasonable for the portion. It filled me up. They give you complimentary water even if you don't ask for it when you dine in, which is really sweet. It's a pretty clean place. There is quite a bit of parking available too, even with the amount of eateries nearby. I would like to come again to try the different bowls/rolls and give this place an updated rating.

OHHHH EMMM GEEEE! Why have we waited so long to try this place?!! Bomb sushi for a takeout joint. Flavor and freshness is real here, guys!! Very impressive. My wife is a diehard UNI & IKURA lover and she was melting in her seat!! Lol! Should I be concerned?!!! Haha Before placing our order online, we called Hou Fish Market to check on the availability and quality of their Uni. The young lady who answered was helpful in explaining the different ways they serve Uni, and also shared that it's from Japan. Definitely surprised about that and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! 10/10 says the wife :) Same goes for the Ikura! She was loving the Ikura in the donburi, as well as the Ikura Nigiri. I'm surprised she stayed in her seat from all the melting body motions. Hahaha!! Aisus! In total, here's what we got: - Uni & Ikura Don (mini) - Maguro Nigiri - Salmon Nigiri - Masago Nigiri - Garlic Ebi - Garlic Salmon - Cali Maki w/Masago - Ebi Nigiri - Hamachi Nigiri Total: $74.14 All in all, this place was a hit. Highly recommend you give them a try! SIDE NOTE: Inside the dining area are a bunch of small tables. The place was wreaking of Clorox tho, so I'm glad we didn't dine in. Maybe something for the staff to consider as the smell of Clorox during a meal is extremely off putting.

Located in Waipahu went there because we had reservations at the sushi spot in Aiea, I confirmed the reservation 2 times letting them know I had a dog at first I asked them if pets are allowed and the girl that answered said yes and I called that day to confirm because we had a Birthday dinner and she again said yes. After getting there they were very rude and then telling us tie the dog outside if we want to dine in or we could take out the food. Then I tell the lady why didn't you just say no pets allowed we could have gone elsewhere, which now she says my English not good? Well we left and good thing we found Hou Fish Market which was very good and reasonable, the quality and freshness was very good and tasty! They had lots of seats inside and the staff were very friendly and lots of parking shared by other restaurants and shops. The Hamachi Kama was tasty and moist and salted just right and the spicy tuna was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal!

First off. I walked in and the girl was eating at a table. I quickly apologized. She didn't respond. Took my order and I thought she was going to go Back to eat. She went straight to making my food and Didn't wash her hand! Yikes! Anyways The sushi is like any other fast sushi spots. I ordered a bunch of stuff to try it out. But wasn't to impressed with the way it turned out. Also found an eye lash in my Udon!! Yuck! I know it's not mines because my eyelashes are short! The girl working also dropped one of my shrimp tempuras on the counter top and it hit a dirty looking rag. I thought she was going to replace it as she did a few things walking in the back, while the piece of shrimp sat on the counter. She came back to the front with my udon and started to bag it, She then turned around and picked up the shrimp with a thongs and with the other shrimp in a container in the other hand turned around and packed it up. She side eyed me as she was doing it. Then she called me to get my order. I didn't eat the shrimp because of what happened. I also got the seared salmon bowl which only the sauce and mayo was torched. Honestly never going back to this place and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Need training on customer service, and food handling.

The Pearl City location has tons of Musubi, poke, and snack options available for you to eat. Although seating is limited, all the items you can purchase there are easy to take with you and sitting comfortably in the car we were able to enjoy our lunch poke bowls. But let's be real, most of us would love to just pick up some poke bowls and head straight to the beach right? The service was friendly and helpful and they even have signage that helps show you how to navigate your poke and rice options. The poke cuts were smaller than what I was used to but didn't detract from the flavor, in fact, it probably make the flavor better in that it helped with the mixing and you got a more balanced bite. I'm usually not an ocean salad kind of person either but they've changed my mind with their great flavors, don't be afraid to try that either. With all that deliciousness acquired, don't forget to find a great canned juice of your choosing to wash it all down. While the price isn't the cheapest poke that you can buy, it was definitely delicious and made with care that I truly appreciated and served out of a shop that makes you feel nostalgia. I will definitely be stopping by again when I'm in the area to see what other kinds of poke they've created.

Laulau pleasantly surprised me as this was my first foray to Waipahu Highway Inn. Every time I got laulau at the Kakaako location the meaty (non fatty) parts of the pork was dry; this one was moist throughout, even in the meaty parts. Poi was good, especially mixed with the lomi salmon. Mom's squid luau was nice, came out hot, though it was a little sweet for her taste. The smoked meat was also a little sweet, though we know that's how they prepare it at H.I. Nice mix of smoky and sweet with the meat and onions. Finished with the haupia, which is standard and always dependable there. Like the old plantation feel and the old photographs of Waipahu all over the place, right down to the palaka decor. But, they also have locations where you can dine in or takeout. I've had takeout as well as catered food from here a couple of times. I love that their food is a complete meal and comes with haupia (coconut dessert). Most recently I tried their tasting plate which came with a little bit of everything: chicken long rice, lomi salmon, squid luau, kalua pork, poi, pork laulau, and okinawan sweet potato. Definitely good for sharing as well. I shared with my daughter. Everything was so flavorful and had lots of variety. The squid luau is sweet because it's made with coconut milk, the kalua pig and laulau are salty, the poi was not sour and went well with the lomi salmon, the sweet potato also added sweetness. It all worked so well together. For dessert, we got the Sweet Potato Haupia Shortbread. Definitely a sweet and savory combo. The potato isn't too sweet, the buttery shortbread crust and the coconut haupia. Definitely a local fave. Overall, great place to try Hawaiian food with tons of parking and usually not crowded. A must try!
