Went for lunch with department at work. I had the pot luck stew or whatever. It was amazing!!!

Our family thought food was average but my youngest son loved the kids pizza. Our waitress, Hannah, is the reason it gets 4 stars otherwise it would be a 2.5-3 star for us. She was great and very friendly! We ate here twice on our visit since it was attached to our hotel. She was our waitress both times and did her job well! Drinks were great and they have a good beer selection. Oh, please put white gravy on your menu! Y'all sell food in TEXAS there should ALWAYS be an option for white gravy! read more

45 minute to 1 hour wait to be seated when we went (granted it was Valentines Day -- but with reservations), BUT the food/service was amazing (they had just opened so we are giving them a pass)! We will definitely be back on a slower night! read more

Saturday night and boy was I excited to try Houlihans right here in Denton. It's a little confusing trying to find the restaurant at first because the whole area is under new construction. Besides the point. I'm giving Houlihans two stars. The food saved us from what could have been a horrific visit. We drove up right around 9:30 confused if the place was even open that's how dead it was. We were promptly seated in what ended up being a section from a server that was already "cut" so while they sorted out the miscommunication we were left stranded lonely and waiting for someone to even acknowledge our presence in the dining room. After all of that it was right around seven minutes before we were even offered a beverage. We order an app and was halfway finished before my beer even arrived. But it seemed the patrons in the bar received a steady stream of service the whole time. After we finished our first bottle of complimentary water we were failed to receive anything else to drink. So my wife and I had to finish our meals while being parched. The server just simply never brought us another after we had asked. I also had to wait another five minutes for the server to bring malt vin for my fish n chips. I feel the only reason he remembered is because I was staring him down in the extremely dead dining room watching him stand in the expo window running food to the two tables in the restaurant. It was then after we made awkward eye contact that he remembered. All in all we waited a good 30 minutes for our entrees only to receive lukewarm at best. Upon completion of our meals we waited for another ten minutes for our check. It was then we had to flag down a manger so we could pay and leave. After I explained to her the experience we just had she seemed very unsympathetic. But had no problem taking my payment for the meal. And seeing us off on our way. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the food was actually pretty good. read more

I have eaten at other locations and the food, service, and environment was fantastic. In this instance I can't speak to the food or the service because my fiancé and I never got to experience it. We made reservations for Valentine's Day for 7:30 pm. We arrived 5 min early and expected to wait just a little while being the holiday and that we were somewhat early. We did not expect to wait 40 min only to find out they hadn't sat other party's that had reservations for 7:00 pm. The hostess did the best she could, but she informed me that we were next on her "list". Mind you her "list"consisted of a pad of sticky notes and miscellaneous loose sticky notes plastered all over the desk of her hostess stand. As I was asking about the status of our now 30 min. late reservation, a cook can out of the kitchen in a frantic breathless panic and told the hostess that due to them being backed up in the kitchen, tables were not allowed to order food until they caught up. At that point we made the decision to leave and cancel our reservation to go to a different restaurant. Attached is a picture of the reservation we made and a picture of them still accepting reservations on open table when we arrived at our Plan B Valentine's Day location. Ate here a few times and the manager gave me a tour of the kitchen and I am super impressed by the "scratch kitchen" system they use. Mostly everything is made from scratch including their dipping sauces to fresh cut ahi tuna! Definitely recommend and great ambiance and decor. A++++ read more

Our food and service were excellent - definitely not your typical Denton restaurant fare. Prices were a bit on the high side, but we thought it was worth it. We found the ambiance to be quiet but friendly and the decor somewhat modern but in a classy way. All in all, this was an enjoyable date night for us. We'll be back! read more

I love this restaurant. I have been twice....first visit I ordered a steak. It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The potato soup was good but not great. Second visit I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and fruit. The fruit was a small container of blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. However, salmon was incredible and potatoes were very good. Service better on first visit, I'll let you know about third!!! read more

Went on Friday night 5/11/2018 to try it out since it's new and I heard the food was good. When we arrived we were seated fairly quick with no wait time. It took our server at least 10 min to take our drink order which consisted of a margarita and a beer. That took another 15min to receive. I ordered a Caesar salad/chips and salsa/ the ahi tuna appetizer and the 12oz strip steak ordered to cook MEDIUM WELL. Food took around 20min to come out. I received my salad at the same time as my steak came out, everything looked great bit into the thinnest part of the steak and it was cooked perfect. Until my lady said cut into the middle of the steak and check it out, as soon as I did a puddle of blood started to pour out and it was completely raw so I waved the waiter down and asked if they could cook it some more he stated that since I had already touched it they couldn't do that but he would cook another one for me. So I kept my mashed potatoes and asparagus smothered in blood while I waited for my steak another 20 min passed and he comes rushing out with my new steak it looked charred on both sides but I was ready to eat since I was starving. I cut into it and it was the same exact thing completely raw and the waiter just goes I'm sorry I don't know what's going on we will reimburse you for the steak and that's all. They Didn't offer a different meal or anything the manager did not come talk to us they just brought the check and said sorry. So we ended up paying around $45 and I was just as hungry as when we got there. read more

Came here for the first time today and was sadly disappointed. Our waitress was extremely unfriendly, except when she went to the back and was chatting with all of her coworkers. We got eye rolls and blank stares, while they received smiles and happiness. My salad came and it was so sad with a small sprinkling of bacon bits and no croutons (the menu said it had croutons). I asked her for some croutons and unfortunately had to eventually ask someone else passing by because our waitress was too busy socializing with her coworkers. Our main course came out and my husbands burger was supposed to have an additional table side finishing "finished tableside with our signature five cheese blend, melted on a sizzling raclette skillet." When we asked the waitress about this she said the restaurant hasn't done that because they didn't have the right utensils for it. My steak tasted like a glorified hamburger. We also had to ask for refills on our water. After today I'm not sure we will be back. read more
