Today was my 4th visit, two visits for breakfast and two visits for brunch. My mama and I were hungry for a good BLT and side salad. So we decided to split the BLT and add on an extra side salad. Maddie was our waitress and she was sweet as could be and very helpful. Our food came out quickly. Salads were crisp and fresh and the BLT was so good, perfect amount of all ingredients. I firmly believe this establishment discriminates against homosexuals. I was here on a same-sex date. We were sat in the back and did not interact with any waitstaff for an hour. I then went to the front to ask for water and menus, was seated again, and waited for another hour while being stared at by staff walking by. We had to leave the establishment because we were hungry. We weren't behaving poorly or displaying affection or being loud, just having casual conversation. Even if homophobia wasn't the reason we weren't served (somehow), service is extremely poor and the environment is unpleasant. Very strange experience, will not be returning. read more

Food was delicious, even though they were short staff, we didn't wait long to be seated. Ambiance was perfect.

There were many booths and tables available, yet the hostess chose a two-top with unusual chairs. The chairs were more appropriate for socializing rather dining. In order to lean against the seat back, I had to move the seat halfway underneath the table. Two people could not sit without their legs touching each other's chair. Stopped here for breakfast with my family. The location was clean and looked homey. Was greeted at the door with a friendly smile. I ordered the Cheddar Biscuit Omelette and side of french fries. Let me start the biscuit. It lacked that fresh biscuit taste. I wish it would have been fluffier as well. Then the french fries. They were too crispy and seasoned. I guess I just want just some regular fries. Other than that it was okay. Now I am only rating my own experience. I have not tried their burgers or steak and eggs. I came here with a couple of colleagues and enjoyed the homey atmosphere of the cafe. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and I went with one of her recommendations. The prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive. The chicken and waffle combination was filling and delicious. The chicken was crisp and juicy and the waffle was dense and flavorful. They had the usual condiments available such as ketchup, syrup and butter. This seems to be a popular spot for locals as well. I look forward to returning if I'm in the area. read more

The food was great, but there was a dog sitting in a baby stroller at a table. The dog's owner was feeding the dog food from the table. Any time she would stop feeding the dog, the dog would bark for more food. The dog barked multiple times--it was quite the disturbing scene. Also, a bit of a health code violation having a dog eating from the table inside the restaurant. Service dogs are not (by law) permitted to eat inside a restaurant. Her warm welcome goes beyond expectations from other restaurants we have visited in the past. I specifically chose a location that serves cappuccinos to have brunch with my sister and I do not recommend ever coming here if you expect decent coffee with your breakfast , not the place. The service has gotten better but the quality of the food has gone down. I got the turkey pesto panini and they do not make the sandwich the way they use to. First the tomato's were tiny and hardly existent. Second there was zero pesto in the pesto mayo. They tried to gaslight me but the mayo looked liked it was sprinkled with dry herb. Lastly the sweet potatoes were soggy. Over all they have diminished the presentation and quality, probably to cut corners and keep prices down. Just like how they market themselves, "nothing beats a cup of coffee & a delectable breakfast", full satisfaction was achieved after a group breakfast on a biz trip. The food made us feel like home. In addition to the food, it's actually a really nice restaurant. Minimalist entrance and cool local interior details made it interesting, oh, how often you see a baby grand piano in a breakfast place?! I ordered the iron man scrambler. It was awesome. I ordered the meat lovers skillet w/ chorizo instead of ham and it was packed with meat and the chargrilled salsa that comes on the side has some great flavor and I appreciate that it comes hot. North Point Cafe is one of our top restaurants in Denton. Their service couldn't have been better the day I was there when I was alone. I have also been there with a small group and a large group from my church. They have ample room for the large groups. The food is excellent and the price is also reasonable. I should preface this review, and explain my unique situation: I am a disabled individual (since 1995, because of virulent meningoccemia in New Zealand, where I was teaching management at Lincoln University). As a result I have been having a heck of time fitting UNDER restaurant tables, when dining out with another person (or group of folks). This venue used to be under different management (and I presume ownership), and previously the situation was much more welcoming and hospitable than now FOR the disabled, who sit at a MUCH LOWER level, which accommodates our LOWER extremities (knees, shins, and feet, if applicable). In the previous iteration and ownership, the business had a nice selection of tables of various heights, and of course the bar, which is too HIGH and thus out of range, except for sidling up to, which is strictly a bad Plan B. Any way, back to my fairly recent experience with the North Point Cafe (early 2022), my professional weekend caregiver, T. and I went in to scope it out to see if it would be possible for us to eat an appetizer or two to tide us over till lunch (it was after church, so it was not an odd hour or anything), only to be disappointed that could not find a table for us that would actually be a good fit for the power chair; I am not really sure what else to suggest for handicapped customers (or prospective ones'. I realize that all places of public meetings (restaurants, bars, pubs, theaters and lodges, stores) must pass strict laws because of ADA standards and not all of them are good for profits. With this said, I don't think I will be going back there to eat or drink any more. This facility was new to me, but not my wife. I say that as I never ate here when it was Luigi's, but my wife used them as a catering company when She worked at Honda of Denton. We came in on a Sunday around 1pm during the Covid-19 scare. So basically what I am saying is we didn't have to wait and were able to get a table quick. It was also my wife and I's first time eating out since starting to eat a keto friendly diet. Which by the way is fairly easy and hard at the same time. Lost 11 lbs in one week, but coming for breakfast was tough. The meal prices were pretty in line with expectations, however the sides are a bit pricey. My wife chose to go a la cartel with 1 egg, 3 avocado slices, hollandaise and crepe. I went with a Cedar cheese omelet with add on Bacon, sausage and diced ham. Neither if us got toast or other bread. I had a coffee and she had a mimosa. Overall we both liked our meals. That said my eggs were just a little overcooked, but tasty. My wife thought her food was amazing as well. Then comes the bill. We wondered how this change in ordering would affect our bottom line. I am happy to say it was about the same. My omelet jumped to $14 which is a bit pricey. But overall the meal was $32.39 for both of us. I will say if you are practicing a keto diet for healthier living. North Point makes it slightly difficult to find a meal to start with, but I am sure many places will be the same. I will say our server was great and the process was simple. Visited today as it was one of the few breakfast spots still open at 1:00pm, had never been before .. ordered the western omelet with cheddar instead of American and I added sausage. I didn't care for the sausage - it was bland and didn't take like the traditional breakfast sausage. I also didn't really taste the ham it was sliced very thin in small pieces would have liked the ham to have been a bit more flavorful as well. The hash browns were greasy and I didn't care for them.. Pancakes were good. The Italian sandwich was very good and the fried okra was also good okra although I thought it tasted a bit greasy. The Service was great! Very warm and friendly staff.. It is always a pleasure to sit at the computer and remember a really good meal in a really good restaurant with really good service. I did not plan on stopping at North Point Cafe - we just saw the big sign "Breakfast" while driving west on US 380. Something made me pull into the parking lot and go inside. Are we glad we did. This establishment is relatively new, but the building has had many iterations. Thankfully, it was one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere. Steak and eggs with hash browns and pancakes. One was better than the other, but the pancakes were the best I have ever had anywhere ever. My wife had a vegetarian omelet and raved about it. Our server, Teresa, was superb and was rewarded with a nice tip. The indoor ambiance was befitting an excellent establishment. The outdoor area is under reconstruction and promises to be just as fine. Most highly recommended. Unfortunately, we don't live anywhere near Denton, but when we come back, we will time our drive-through to coincide with their breakfast hours. We were checked in on often to refill our coffee... almost too often (a good thing). The dining area is a good size and audible levels were pretty low, a relaxing experience for the morning. I'm really pleased with their ' North Point Reuben' Sandwich! The sweet potato fries go perfectly with it.

We definitely left this place with mixed feelings. They have potential and the food is pretty good, but service and prices left me underwhelmed. We showed up on a Sunday at 11am. It wasn't just busy, it was a really chaotic atmosphere. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed and our server was resigned and indifferent. Actually, all the servers seemed unhappy and strained, probably because chaos is difficult to work in. They made some changes to the interior. Since we were a party of 2 and it was crowded, we were seated at a tiny table next to a pillar with big comfy armchairs. It was quite charming but we had to remove a lot (jelly, coffee creamer etc) to make it functional. There appeared to be the same number of booths as when it was Luigi's, but they added some tables and it seemed like the staff had to squeeze between. The menu has a lot of breakfast items, burgers/sandwiches/salads for lunch and a small kids menu. Though interested in breakfast, I have a very specific egg allergy. While we waited on our server to come take our order, I perused the a la carte and sides sections to see what was comparable so I could ask if substitutions were allowed. I immediately noticed the a la carte and side items were pricey for what they were, most being $3-5. Considering most of the breakfast items were $10+ for typical offerings I wasn't interested in adding to the cost when I couldn't eat a third of the meal. When our server returned I asked about their substitution policy. In short she didn't know and she asked someone else who didn't know and said the could... probably do that. I asked if it would be a sub or an additional charge and she shrugged and said "they probably would charge you for that" with a deprecating look that suggested the owners like to nickel and dime. That whole exchange made me uncomfortable so I went with my backup option. The next exchange, asking what the home fries were and why they were $1 more, was equally perplexing. The server actually had some disparaging things to say about the cook on them and indicated she didn't think they were worth more. Okay... this is just bizarre, both that the staff doesn't know their upcharges/policy and that she was openly undermining the establishment. She did end on a positive note by saying the regular fries and sweet potato fries were good. I got the turkey club with sweet potato fries for $9 and my husband went with the American burger for $8 and ordered cheese fries with a side of ranch. While I was turned off the pricing for a la carte, salads and some breakfast items, I thought the pricing on the burgers and sandwiches were in line with other businesses and general expectations. The wait for the food was pretty long, over 20 minutes. The food was mostly a hit though. The portion sizes were very fair for the price. The orders weren't correct- the pickle that comes with both was missing from mine, but on his. The bacon shouldn't have been sent out, only 10% of it was actually edible. His fries didn't have cheese and he didn't have his side of ranch. By the time the server checked on us, we were more than halfway through our meal and she offered to go get the ranch. We said it wasn't necessary and to just make sure we weren't charged for the cheese and side of ranch. Both of our fries were excellent, some of the best I've had. Those might be my favorite sweet potato fries, perfectly crispy and well seasoned! The turkey club was pretty good once I gave in and removed the bacon. It wasn't processed lunch meat, it was a decent quality with fresh veggies. I just wish they had quality controlled that bacon, some of it was fatty and some of it was burnt enough to stab me in the gums/roof of the mouth- both types couldn't be chewed through and were inedible. A couple of small pieces were pretty good, but I had to make a mess of my sandwich to rebuild it. My husband said his burger was good and juicy and he would order it again. He didn't have bacon, so I can't speak to consistency of what they are serving. We both tried his fries and they were quite good, but I honestly think the sweet potato fries are the way to go! Oh, and they had extremely clean silverware! :) We weren't checked on after that and didn't get any refills, which is a shame because I liked their sweet tea. I also had to wait in line to pay for over 15 minutes which is entirely too long- they need to have more than one person cashing out and cutting down on the chatter might've helped. It was frustrating because we had been there so long and I had cash ready, I just needed someone to take it from me. I really enjoyed the tea and the fries but incorrect orders, ruined bacon, a chaotic atmosphere with some higher prices and long wait times just doesn't inspire me to put this in the rotation. The overall experience will keep me from rushing back, but we will probably try them for lunch again in a few months to see if they worked out the kinks. read more
