Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend to use a coupon. We had eaten at the Chicago location before and loved it, so I was excited to find a location relatively close to where I live. I was disappointed that they did not have enchiladas at the VA location. Instead, I got the Chicken Finger Platter. My boyfriend got the Buffalo Style Chicken Wings and Chipotle Chicken Nachos. First of all, the serving portions are very generous. I could have probably filled up on the nachos alone. I enjoyed my food: the nachos and chicken tenders w/ a side of fries were all perfect. I've had better Honey Mustard sauce though. My boyfriend, however, did not care for the buffalo wings at all. He thought that they may have given him the Thai Wings instead. Also when he asked the waitress, she dismissed his concerns in a somewhat rude manner. I can't eat spicy food, so for kicks and giggles, I tried one of the wings. I ate the whole wing without any problems and didn't even need to use the blue cheese dip. The service started out great. We were seated right away and when we asked them to change one of the channels at the bar, they were very agreeable. Despite being one of only three groups in the restaurant though, we didn't get a lot of attention. Any time we needed anything, we literally had to wave someone down: questioning the wings, requesting drink refills, to-go boxes, the check. This Houlihan's was great. This is not grommet dinning, but was GREAT for lunch. Had a burger which was perfect, and reasonably priced. Manager walked by 3 times while we were there and each time, stopped and asked if everything was OK. Ask for Tien as your server, she is great as well. Know I do not know her and actually live in Boston area, so I will probably not be going there often, but I think you will enjoy. read more

If you are looking for service, this is NOT the place. Traveling a lot, I see many different places when it comes to service this is among the worst. Stayed at the Crown Plaza attached to this place on an overnight. Dinner I waited 18 mines to get beverage. I question the manager and she jumped right to it. Thought well maybe just having a bad night. After my meal was brought, nobody came to table to check and see if I desired anything else. 28 minutes after meal was finished one of the other servers says I see you have been siting here a long time, would you like your check? I politely say yes I have I would like my check. Wake up in the morning though I will give them another shot. Leave my hotel room and head down. I stand there for 10 minutes and no host or waiters to be seen. There were about 10 people already eating and one gentleman waiting to pay his bill. He too was very irritated he had be there for 10 minutes at the waiter station to pay and still No one around. So he too stood there for more that 20 minutes just to pay. I left and went some place else and will not eat there again! Even if I stay at hotel!!! read more

Ok, so I've been here I think 3 times so I figured I would jump on a review and do it while at the end of my 6 hr spa day in India. My Yelp BFF I think is the Duke of the joint and I am pretty sure he has everyone on a first name basis maybe a few nicknames and a bar stool named after him. I've mainly only had Long Islands here and they are quite notably the best around if your into that sort of thing. I am not a connoisseur of LIIT's but I do know they are tasty and pack a serious punch. The bartenders Chuck and this other fellow( I are on top of it all.... food and drinks... busy evening or not... first class service). I've had the spinach dip with the Naan looking thin crisps... the plating is pretty to look at but lacks any depth of flavor for what it is. I think I could just eat the crisps alone and be happy with that to accompany my salty tooth. One other day we had ordered the Chicken sandwich with Gouda/bacon and what tasted like a basil aioli but most likely wasn't... I believe it was a Dijon aioli. The bun was like a giant challah roll... the bread ratio was way off and you're better off eating the whole thing with just one half. The charbroiled chicken was on point ,perfectly juicy and charred. Being that I never order chicken sandwiches because of a typically poor execution everywhere else.... it was a pleasant surprise. The bacon was thick and crispy... always a welcome addition to anything edible. This I can see to be my go-to spot for goodt drinks, better happy hour, and the best service. read more

We had dinner here on a wednesday evening. Not to crowded, got seated right away. The bar seemed a little crowded. Mostly a middle aged business crowd. There is outside seating. The food was really good. We had the Thai wings for an app, they were the best flavored wings I've had. I got the lime jumbo shrimp which were yummy, and the French onion soup, which was also good. My husband got the steak salad which he enjoyed. All entrees come w a soup or salad. They have a lot of different flavors of iced tea, which tasted good. I suggest the mango. Our waitress Tiem was wonderful. Very nice, helpful with suggestions, and overall pleasant to talk to. We will be going back! read more

I did the breakfast "buffet". $12 for what is a worse breakfast than the continental breakfast at the motel the drug addicts and hookers use down the road. Eggs weren't just cold, they were under cooked. The pastry I tried as drier than a desert. It wasn't worth 25 cents. Why they are charging for this is beyond me. I gave it 3 stars only because of the food. The food was outstanding- too bad the service was awful. We waited a very long time to get our water with no lemon, once it finally came it was water with lemon and no ice!!! I am always asked to Houlihan's on a business luncheon. Everything I order has always been on point. My favorite lunch item is the Chicken Chop Chop Salad. It is so good and filling! Everything else from the appetizers (the firecracker shrimp, stuffed mushrooms & the new goat cheese filled artichokes) have been delicious! They also have different flavors of iced tea. My favorite is the mango iced tea. So good! Do not get intimidated that this place is connected to a hotel. It is so good and everyone is so friendly! read more

I go there for lunch with co-workers fairly often. Its a solid "go to" place and the service is great - always upbeat and they will actually converse with you. As for the food, I've had a decent amount of the menu (and everything has been pretty good) but I would have to say I think my two favorite dishes are the Ahi Crusted Tuna Salad or the BBQ Salmon Salad. I just had the Ahi Tuna salad earlier today and I wouldn't mind going back for dinner - its so good. read more

I was very disappointed. The service atrocious, the food mediocre, the prices on par with what we paid in Georgetown for an amazing meal. We were staying at the Crowne, I travel extensively for work and was very happy to see a Houlihans attached on this family vacation, they've always been decent and while nothing spectacular I figured we could count on an easy, enjoyable meal. I was so wrong. Other reviews say things like "If you're feeling fat, go for the stuffed mushrooms - they're absolutely delightful." I will agree with that. That's the only thing that kept me from seeing if I could leave less than a 1 star rating. The food was mediocre, the service terrible. It took 12 minutes to get 4 lemonades we ordered. I used to work in restaurants. The place was practically empty, there should not have been a single reason why we had to wait. So now, we're already almost 25 minutes into a meal we were hoping was going to be quick and easy and she says as she drops off the drinks "I'll go put your appetizer in and be right back." Um... we ordered that 12 minutes ago. We didn't see her again until we received our appetizer. Our appetizer came out in a timely (from that point) manner and was delicious. We did order the mushrooms. Now she is back and took our dinner order. My husband and son ordered sandwiches, my daughter ordered chicken alfredo. I attempted to order the 4oz mini fillet on their menu, only for her to argue with me about how that isn't a thing (it's on the menu, listed with soup or salad and 2 sides) She tries to tell me it's the steak and wedge salad on the special menu. It was easier to not argue with her and I ordered a burger. She comes back with our salads (shredded lettuce like you'd put on a cheap burger) and puts one in front of me. Now I'm confused, because I ordered fries with my burger. She tells me that she changed my order to the steak after talking to her manager. (Without asking how I wanted the steak or what sides) our food came out nearly 25 minutes later. My son had ordered fries with his sliders (important to note as we never got them) The steak was ok when I got it, but like I said the food overall was mediocre. I should have known when we waited 10 minutes for our server to bother with us that there was going to be a problem. Or when my son saw her standing and chatting with the bartender the last 10 minutes we were waiting for our food. (was it sitting in the window?) When our server did bother with us, we really wished she hadn't. She was the type of chatty that makes you want to run. Not so much "How was your day, see anything cool in DC?" But the kind where she lurked around our table and chimed in with her own life experiences (mostly bad) down to telling us about her parenting techniques when her kids were younger. No thanks. My kids are polite and respectful teenagers who enjoy vacationing with their parents, the advice and monologue (15 minutes, no lie) about how she used to spy on her kids was out of place and uncomfortable for everyone but her. We chalked our experience up to a bad server and left a reasonable tip and didn't complain. We had breakfast included and figured we'd give them another change. The next day was Easter, very busy, buffet was cold and sloppy. Service was again terrible but they seemed terribly short staffed. Since it was free, (included really.. not free) we kind of rolled our eyes and figured people had called in on the holiday, etc. We were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. None of us are big breakfast eaters so we thought we'd try one more time. We had breakfast the next day. Same experience as on Easter. We had one more set of breakfast vouchers and we didn't bother. We went to a little diner that was amazing. The hard part is we are very easy to please people, we kept giving them chances and finding reasons why it was bad but it was just bad. read more

This place is too good for words. All of their food is amazing and their servers are always friendly and helpful. Especially Steve and Somphone. They are awesome! No matter how busy they are, those two are always willing to help if there is a problem with something, and are really nice about it! Every one of the employees are nice, and make delicious food!
