The service was lacking to say the least. Called in an order Togo and was told 25-30 minutes. Ok that's reasonable at dinner time. But when I arrived they said I probably called the other location. Once I pointed out the number I called they took another 30 minutes to make my order. Not one apologize for the mistake, the manager did not comeback to talk with me, he just sent hostess up there with my check. They did give me a discount for the mistake. But ignoring me basically while I sat there and no "we are sorry" is not good service. read more

Got a little confused as I went in through the the hotel and I didn't see the hostess station. But once I got situated it was all good. I pretty much knew what I wanted and ordered the fish tacos and a small cup of tortilla soup. Everything was delicious! Of course I was starving but still, it was very good! The tortilla soup was warm and delicious and just what I needed coming from warm Texas to frigid Missouri. The fish tacos were awesome as well. They were on flour tortillas which was a little strange to me but still good! The waitress was nice and friendly and kept my water refilled and checked up on me just the right amount of times. The reason for only three stars is the price. It's not cheap. I know it's in a hotel but still. The food was good but not sure it's as good as they think it is. If I'm up there again and have no other choice I'd eat there again but if I can, I'll probably go elsewhere. read more

I was so impressed with this restaurant from rhe moment I walked in. It is such a cute, clean place with friendly staff. Jordan was a fantastic waitress. She gave us plenty of time to decide on the menu and made a great recommendation for dinner. Which I just loved! The tomatoe soup was the perfect temperature, and it was so creamy. The Sedona shrimp pasta was unreal. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. The foccacia bread was made perfectly. My dad had the fire cracker shrimp, and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The flavors in it kept going with a flavor or cracked pepper towards the end of the bite. I loved it! They have outdoor patio seating but I opted to eat indoors.Upon entering the greeter gave us options for seating.Booths,tables or high chairs all options... We sat down and looked over the menu.The happy hour was all day with $5 specials. I opted for mushrooms,fries and thai wings. After a little wait the food arrived hot and smelling good. Located adjacent to the DoubleTree, this was a convenient stop. The cocktails were amazing and the on tap beer selection was pretty impressive (and a real local one). Service was good. We ordered the chipotle chicken nachos which were average. It was topped with ground chicken which we're not a fan of. I would certainly stop in again (especially if we're at the DoubleTree). Amazing food! We had the wings, nachos, mac and cheese (good but not worth $5 for the 2 bites that come in the dish) and Parmesan frites. However, service on a Saturday night was bad and no they were not at all busy. My husband ordered a Long Island Ice tea before the meal. On vacation for the first time in Missouri. After a very long day traveling from the Central Coast of California we finally got to eat a meal and were directed to this place. Hungry and thirsty we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. Our server, Taran, patiently and pleasantly guided us to our meal. Scallops were expertly prepared. Stop in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was very nice, clean and quite and our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the meatloaf special. My husband enjoys the fish and chip though he did say the lunch portion of fish was a bit small for his appetite. Great experience tonight at Houlihans location which is attached to the Doubletree Hotel. Jordan was our server and he provided excellent service along with having knowledge of the food and providing suggestions. We had an appetizer of egg rolls followed by a house salad we shared and then fish/chips and hamburger. I would recommend this restaurant and ask for Jordan. If you are staying at the Doubletree, Houlihans is better than the hotel. read more

My boyfriend ordered the Koren chicken. I received my order first, and it looked AWFUL! The noodles were all stuck together, then when I took a bite it tasted like it was sitting out for a long time and it was very crunchy in some areas and mush and not done in others. My boyfriend and I are on a cross country trip and we stopped in Springfield for the night to get some rest. We spotted this place next to our Fairfield Inn hotel. We both had the fish n' chips and WOW! Literally the best we've ever had. It was piping hot, super crunchy and the portion was basically an entire whole piece of fish. We've never eaten fish n' chips this way before and we were extremely impressed. The service is very friendly. The restaurant is decorated nicely and it's very clean. This place is taking safe precautions with social distancing seating due to COVID19, which is very much appreciated. Had a late dinner while here on business! Had ky as a server- she was so nice and sweet and such a great addition to our meal- loved her recommendations and very attentive! Started off with a stacked bean, lettuce, tomato and goat cheese salad. I didn't expect such a unique side salad at a chain ! I was pleasantly surprised! 5/5! We have eaten here many times in the past. Our prior visit to this one resulted in the manager giving us a coupon for two dinners due to a total screw-up on our dinner. In particular, the stuffed chicken dish was completely burned on the bottom side and other problems with my dish. So, after a couple months now, we decieded to give them a second chance. My wife ordered the same thing as before, stuffed chicken and garlic mashed. After about 25 minutes (much too long in my opinion) the dinner was served. Totally incinerated on the bottom and the mashed potatoes cold, and green beans uncooked. She sent it all back. When the new plate was finished we had it put in a box to take home. The service is alway good here. It is a shame that good servers have to put up with a bad cook and a pooely managed kitchen. We will not be back. read more

Lettuce wraps were AWESOME, I could have eaten them as a meal. Hubby had the KC burger and he really enjoyed it. I had the chicken wrap and it was very good, little too much lettuce and not enough other fillings. Huge portion of fried for both of us. It wasn't busy when we got there but when we left it was. We had many drinks as they weren't strong and for the price we really should have felt it more. Bill for a app, 2 entrees and 7 drinks was just about $100. Houlihans apparently has a lunch deal which requires the meal to be delivered to the table within 16 minutes of the server taking the order back to the kitchen, sounds too good to be true, right?!While out with two friends/co-workers, we waited over 25 minutes for our meals (I will include that one of my co-lunchers ordered well done steak, which the server clearly stated would take a flat 18 minutes, no more, no less....understandable). When he finally arrived with our food, I made the server aware of the time delay. He acted as if he had the IQ of a salad bar and pretended not to understand the Houlihans rule, (which is printed at the top of the lunch menu). He refused to provide any discount and to respect the rule of a free entree. The food was good and I have had great service/food at this chain of restaurants in the past, but this level of inept service is unacceptable. Don't make the rules and blatantly disregard them, Houlihans, it makes you appear to be a discredited organization which has little understanding of what it means to provide quality customer service. read more

We were staying at the hotel attached to the restaurant, so we thought placing a phone order was a good idea....wrong!!!!! First of all, the server for my pick up order was rude beyond rude, she acted like my daughter was bothering her. When my daughter ask her about dipping sauce and their soda selection she acted that she was so irritated for doing HER job. My daughter spoke to some one else who apologized for the server and comped our soda's. Then my daughter went back when I told her that a tip was added on the order, she asked who the tip went to because she didn't want the server to be tipped for being rude. They gave us a free dessert-beignets...they we greasy and flat and didn't taste good. Then we realized part of our order was missed, she was pissed, she went down to get a full refund and was told by someone named Axel she could leave her number and have a manager get back to her tomorrow. I really enjoy eating at Houlihan's. As you know by now, I am a gluten-free foodie, and Houlihan's has a very GF - friendly menu. They even have a GF appetizer! Ate here with my hubby and really enjoyed the food, as well as our lovely waitress, Tara, who went above and beyond to provide excellent service. We had the Tortilla soup, and the Chicken Sandwich on GF bun. It was delish. My wheat-eating husband shared the dish and couldn't even tell the difference on the GF bun.
