A recent Sunday afternoon pub crawl took my girlfriend and me into Houndstooth, a place we had never visited. Though I'm not a coffee drinker, I found the strong aroma of java somewhat inviting and charming as we walked into the place. They had a nice selection of beer and wine, along with stronger spirits, and the choice of taps was interesting and respectful to local brands. Ramsey proved to be an outstanding barkeep, and we look forward to coming back to try some of Ramsey's creations. Love this Houdstooth! Super convenient location with lots of friendly seating arrangements. The wifi is fast, and their music is good so it's a good work environment as well. As much as I like to support local businesses, I am not particularly impressed with the coffee compared to the good menu at the Starbucks Reserve just up the street. The grounds were less earthy and more bitter -- far superior to regular Starbucks coffee but definitively lower quality than the Reserve quality coffee. The space is minimalist and calm, but there aren't enough outlets to consistently have one available, and the furniture tows the line between sufficient and cheap-looking. It's an aesthetic that works better for ice cream shops and boutique bakeries, not so much a space where you're supposed to hang out a while. Again, the Reserve up the street does far better with its aesthetic and budget. The staff was friendly and personable, and I felt welcome to stick around for a couple hours after my order. I won't be back, but it's not bad for a quick cup of coffee. I'd recommend this place to those who want to buy local and don't care about the coffee enough to mind the comparison to the Starbucks Reserve. read more

Great place to get some work done!! despite being in a busy area of the domain, the atmosphere inside is still relatively quiet enough to sit down and do some work or catch up with someone! I've only been on weekdays, so that probably is part of the reason as I've never seen the weekend crowd, but everything is always really nice and clean, and I've never had a problem getting any seating! I don't know much about coffee but the baristas do and are really great at recommending things too / they're great at latte art!!! read more

Super disappointed in my latest visit. I have been visiting this houndstooth for years on and off buying coffee and beans but has the most bizarre experience being cut in line and the employees just kept saying "we'll be right with you". I had been standing in line behind a larger group, the employees saw me and another person walked up in front of me as the group left and the staff took his order. A second person called the attention to another employee and made another order, all while continuing to smile and say "we'll be right with you". Needless to say, I walked out and ordered coffee at Bakery Lorraine. I won't be back to Houndstooth. read more

Came on a Saturday afternoon, hoping to get some work done. It's a one-employee coffee shop with slow service. It has a full bar, which is interesting for a coffee shop, but zero outlets. So unless you feel like unplugging an espresso machine, good luck charging your laptop. Would not be coming back. read more

Came in for a coffee and to chat with my friend and share photos from a baby shower she had photographed only to find that there were only usb outlets for a charge. I was informed that they are working to build a space where people engage with each other but this made it difficult for me to do with my friend in their space. And why are cell phones okay and nothing else? Do they not distract everyone from each other in the same way? Overall felt pretentious, hypocritical, and exclusionary. Hoping this helps others avoid the experience and encourages Houndstooth to rethink. Let your customer choose how to engage in your space! read more

Great coffee and margaritas if you are looking for either in a chill environment on Rock Rose. My biggest complaint about this place is that they intentionally do not have wall outlets available so they force you out faster if you are like me and like to sit and work at coffee bars for a while. read more

The inside of the restaurant was nice very similar to the previous Coffeeshop Apanas Coffee except they added a table or to or just moved some tables around but either then that it is pretty much the same as Apanas. the staff was very nice as well as Sean the shopkeeper I got a Hot Chocolate which is reguraly $4 but i got it free from a free beverage token. the Hot Chocolate was good not really piping hot but hot enough they do serve Pastries and Breakfast Tacos the Breakfast tacos is from Tacodeli not sure where they get the pastries from as i have not had a taco or pastry there it is a good location I hope this one makes it read more

Stopped in during halftime from the super bowl watching a cross the street and was shocked that no one was inside here. They have a great bar! I ordered the chocolate latte and it was delicious. When I took it back to the place I was watching the game, everyone wanted to know what was that delicious aroma. So worth it.
