The staff is really nice and I'm sure the coffee is fine, but what a disaster to try to get some work done. It's right by the interstate so it's loud. They can't control that, so it's understandable, but look at this room. What are these little rocking horses? And notice not an outlet in sight. A nice little place to do business but without outlets or desks? None outside either. Compounding this all is the difficult wifi. You need to ask for some stupid top secret password and it still doesn't work. Lastly - the espresso was sour and one of the bathrooms was broken. Save yourself the trouble and just go to a Starbucks with power outlets, real tables, and that good Google wifi. read more

Awesome little spot off of 75 the coffee is delicious !! Nice and smooth !! The place is right across a bbq place and some place called the treehouse . located in a small brown cabin looking building !! Coffee : pretty simple menu but the coffee is really delicious ! Nice and smooth and the baristas are really nice every time I come in and they always try and start conversations which is great because they are awesome !! They do not have much add ins like cinnamon or honey etc etc but the taste of the coffee makes up for it ! Pricing : Little but pricier than most places a 12 oz latte is about 5.50 and a 16 oz is around 6 ! Haven't tried there teas but herd they are really good ! But just a tad bit higher than other places but it makes up for how delicious it is !! Location: right off of 75 on the corner! located next to other restaurants and there is parking all around the building ! Vibe : very modern and simple inside . There are a few tables outside where you can sit and there is also a small building next to it where you can sit and enjoy your coffee! There is a bench against the wall and some chairs in there ! The desk are really small in the other building but you have just enough space to lay your laptop on and that's about it ! Pretty cool and simple area !! I tried this coffee shop last week, it was quite unique. On the left side of the building is coffee and on the right side are seats and the restrooms, separated by a small courtyard with picnic tables. The baristas were very helpful and friendly, made really good recommendations. The atmosphere on the coffee side is great, the menu has a good variety of flavors, good music, and I was doing some studying. I tried to go to the right side of the building, but the tables are a bit awkward. The benches on the perimeter of the room allow for lots of seating, but the "desks" are quite small, and I didn't want to do a balance act with my laptop, so I returned to the coffee side. read more

I am not much of a coffee person to be honest so my review might be a little biased due to the fact. Anyways I went with my coworkers after lunch and decided to get the sweet iced coffee with them. I got almond milk in it since I am lactose to whole milk. Service was very good. Coffee though is a little on the high side as it was $7 dollars for a 16 ounce drink. When I drank it, it was very strong and not too sweet at all. Would I go back and drink the coffee with my co workers, I am probably better off taking a pass on the next one. Adorable little minimalistic Austin-based coffee shop with friendly service. The decor is simple and modern and the menu is small but adequate. I'm not a big coffee drinker but Houndstooth makes a pretty good vanilla latte. The cups have a cute small image of the state of Texas at the bottom that you see when you finish your coffee. There is somewhat limited seating but they do have an additional seating area that isn't attached to where you actually go to order your drinks. I probably wouldn't recommend studying here - it's a great for catching up with friends. It is also a little pricey but at least the drinks are good. read more

Love love this space! This location is ideal for those that roam through Dallas, Richardson, Garland and other surrounding suburbs. I love the Sylvan location and was happy to see this one sprout up w couple of years ago. It's a fairly small space in comparison to the other ones, and is the perfect stop and go coffee shop. They have electrics car stations around the back as well. This coffee shop sort of stands up on its own, not directly next to the other restaurants! Coffee has been solid every time I've come- ranging from iced coffees, americano, almond milk lattes etc. I have yet to purchase the coffee beans here! They have seating for small groups of people, and another area for a more quiet setting unmatched to the main coffee bar. Great option along 75! read more

I can't speak for their coffee, but their blueberry tea is amazing! I have come to Houndstooth several times just to order it. The layout of this coffee shop is very unique. It is split into two buildings--one where you order your drinks and one that looks like an old school classroom with miniature desks. These desks are tiny so if you need a lot of room this probably isn't the best place work. In between the two buildings there's a patio area with several benches and tables with more room but it can get hot in the Texas summers. The staff is super friendly and helpful so don't forget to tip for good service read more

I'm not so good with concise wording, so this may be a bit long... I really wanted to like Houndstooth, particularly with the many good reviews at this location, but I was really disappointed with the snooty attitude Alex had from the get-go. I came in happy, expressing my excitement over sampling their coffee before purchasing a bag I could grind at home. I explained it was my first time there, and asked Alex what he might recommend. As a Starbucks veteran, I may be spoiled with receiving a small sample cup without question, but Alex talks to me robotically, and, turns out, he made me a full cup instead. When he rang me up for $5.50, I thought, oh well, no big deal. After 15 minutes of surfing on the WiFi, I finished that cup, and felt I should try a different flavor. I made a point to emphasize I would like to "try a sample" a of a different flavor this time, hoping for the kind of service I haven't had to ask for at Starbucks. Again, Alex gives no hint of understanding or outgoing nature. I pay another $5.50, thinking maybe that's the civil thing to do. To be clear, I am most disappointed in Alex's and his coworker's attitude toward me, something that's a little abstract to explain. I'm looking myself over afterward to see if I look disheveled because he was so friendly with easily over 10 other customers, so what was wrong with me? I spent about 30 minutes finishing the 2nd cup. At checkout, I briefly expressed why I was disappointed as I purchased a bag of the coffee I preferred, but he starts arguing with me about my experience being my fault! Inside voice, I am thinking, "hey, I just wanted to see if you cared, and...apparently not." Wow, Alex and his coworker where so unkind I felt their gaze like heat-vision searing my back as I left. I liked the coffee. The service, not so much. I guess Alex and I got bad vibes off each other, but the disrespectful behavior hurt. Houndstooth is one of my top three coffee shops in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I do not make this statement lightly, as trying out new coffee shops is one of my favorite hobbies. The prices here are higher than what you would pay for a cup of something that Starbucks may refer to as an espresso, cappuccino, or even "house" coffee, but let me assure you, those names are where the similarities end. The beans offered at Houndstooth are unique, delicious, and rotate somewhat frequently so that there is almost always at least one new option available to try. Exquisitely prepared, I have never had a bad cup among the various drinks I have tried. Some of the friendliest baristas I have ever had the pleasure of encountering work here, engaging in genuine conversation with customers and seemingly just as happy to make a doppio as a flavored latte (no coffee-snob attitudes here). The dual building layout has the pleasant benefit of separating the noise of the ordering and preparing area into one building while leaving the other building for seating alone. This allows for a quieter, more pleasant atmosphere in the second building. There is also a nice outdoor seating courtyard between the two buildings. Parking is plentiful and there is a Tacodeli on the other side of the parking area. Absolute bliss. Move Houndstooth to the top of your list of coffee shops to try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Glad I wasn't the only one who found this location odd.... Hard to find parking, hard to find a normal sized table, and even hard to get into the bathroom (you need to get the key first!)!!! If you come here wanting to study, forget about it. The tables inside of the main room (where you order coffee) are awkwardly small and uncomfortable. Not to mention it's ver loud and distracting as well. There are some tables in between the two buildings, but they are usually pretty full. There's a tiny building on the other side, but it's also small and there's no table to do actual work. Would not recommend coming here to study or do work. read more

The intersection of Central and Walnut has desperately needed a coffee shop for years, and now Houndstooth has finally arrived. This Austin-based coffee house serves some very unique and delicious brews, such as lime cold brew coffee. The lattes are well done, the chocolate or vanilla compliments, rather than overpowers, the expresso. The architecture/ambiance definitely pays homage to the stores Austin's roots. The building is new and very modern, there's a great outdoor space and a side building separate from the coffee bar that reminds me of a college lecture room. I only wish this shop was easier to get to and had a drive-thru. But I imagine the owners didn't want this to be a place where you can just grab your coffee and go. I really like the minimalist design and rustic feel of the place. It also gave off an eco-friendly atmosphere. Service was very welcoming. I got the cold brew with vanilla. And I got the drink right away since there was no customer ahead of me, the barista told me that the lids and straws are behind me, which was very considerate and helpful since it was my first time here. I feel like the place would be better for chatting up with friends instead of studying due to the seating options. There is like 3 seats at the bar area, but the seats looks uncomfortable since there is no support for your back. Then the back of the place had more bar style seating, and the tables are slim so lack of spacing for your stuff I feel like. Going back to the coffee, it was a bit water down, not as bold as I would like it to be. But props to the service. read more

Good coffee, but I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had. I got an iced chocolate latte, I probably could've asked for more sweetness but I didn't. Seating wise was quite difficult, I ended up sitting outside because it looked sunny, but I didn't know it was so windy. The absolute best part of my visit was the barista, I cannot remember her name for the life of me, but I definitely remember her smile and purplish hair. With each and every patron, she was so kind and sweet, greeted everyone even tho she had a line of customers. I've been to the original Houndstooth, and the one in the Arts district in Dallas, and I gotta say this one is by far my favorite. I love everything about it, and it's honestly become one of my top 5 favorite shops I've been to. It's by far the best shop I've been to in Dallas thus far. The design of their shop is so simple, and I love the wood look of the whole shop. Now there's not much seating in the area where they brew, but I understand that it's mainly just to order, and get your coffee. They have a separate that is connected with a patio that has plenty of seating in both areas. the area indoor area is super quite, and is a great place to go get some work done, read a book, or just to sit and sip your coffee. Their patio is great, and super simple. I always bring my Great Dane when I come here, and they area dog friendly too. They always offer a bowl of water for her, and never act like that she is bother anyone or themselves. Im a huge fan of KLLR coffee, but Tweed is definitely a 2nd favorite for sure, and that's what they mainly brew. They make some of the best lattes I've ever had! I MEAN EVER! I love their merchandise, but I feel it is too expensive so I never buy it, maybe one day, but the pricing on those items could maybe be a little bit lower. That's probably the only negative thing I can think of about this shop. This shop really a grab, and go type set up, but they are a place I can come, and sit to enjoy some delicious Tweed coffee. read more

Very small coffee corner near North Park. If you're in the area, I would recommend stopping by. Going down the highway you don't really see it except the huge sign that reads "COFFEE" and the Houndstooth signal (which looks like a Batman logo)! My sister got the cold brew here on a hot summers day and I would recommend it. Pretty tasty, and I can tell it was made well. The lines stretch out pretty far because it's a small area, but they move pretty quickly. We were in and out in about 10-15 minutes. There's also a nice outside patio area where you can chill, and also another room but it's not a place you would want to spend hours at. Good place to chill out and hang out though! read more

The side sitting room is quiet and has a very Swedish like feel. The only downside to this place is that there is limited space in both the coffee shop portion and the attached building. They bag loose leaf tea themselves and the blends are strong. This is a great little coffee shop. read more
