I wish I could review the food, but unfortunately we had to walk out. We were told that there was a 45 minute wait. We were fine with the wait - that was not the problem. We were finally seated after an hour. We waited 10 minutes+ and no one came and took our orders - not even our drinks. We saw multiple tables get seated and their orders were taken. Our server never came to greet us - not sure we even had one assigned to our table. We had to walk out. One of our kids even said, "I'm just gonna have to eat this ketchup" lol. This is the first time I have walked out of a restaurant. I understand that they were busy, but for them to not even greet us or take our drink orders is ridiculous. We had a good enough breakfast, but it wasn't the best. The gravy with our biscuits was a thick glop, not tasty at all. We had to get our toast done twice to get even a part of it brown. My eggs were good, the hash browns nice and crispy, and my coffee was refreshed several times. Our waitress was pleasant and took good care of us. The House itself is clean and comfortable, with enough room to easily maneuver around tables. A connected ice cream and candy shop with boba teas, smoothies, and a whole lineup of sweet surprises. They've even got a couple of outdoor tables, which gives strong dog-friendly vibes--always a plus. Inside, the staff couldn't be friendlier. What really stood out was the chef making rounds, checking in with guests--not something you see every day, and it speaks volumes. Proud chefs make better food, and everything I saw coming out of that kitchen backed it up: beautiful plates, quick service, and care in the details. I built my own omelet, and it was cooked exactly the way I wanted it--no notes, just perfect. The home fries looked killer: golden, crisp, and maybe just kissed by the fryer. I didn't indulge (low carb life), but they looked hard to resist. Like most people who have left a review within the last year, I would have rated this place a two or three the first time I went, which would be June 2024. The first time I went (which was previous management) everything seemed sort of chaotic and the restaurant looked a little bit dirty to me. The random candy section did not make sense for a place that was for breakfast. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken tender was below average, which in my opinion was hard to do because how can you mess up a chicken tender? Needless to say when my family wanted to go there again in July 2025 I was hesitant. We looked up the reviews online and saw that they were under new management and decided to give it another try. The service was incredibly fast. We only had to wait five minutes because we were there at peak breakfast hour. Our waitress was super nice and made sure that everything was taken care of and checked in on us regularly. The restaurant looked cleaner too, and more organized. They must have re-organized the tables and chairs to make it feel less crowded. While our food was not five star quality, it was better than last time and decent for the price. Because I am not native to the area I do not know how long the new management has been there or how the establishment has been in the past except for the time we went in June 2024. I will say that I have noticed an increase in quality from the previous trip to the one we just took in July 2025. I would recommend this establishment for a very quick and easy breakfast stop if you are on vacation. The weight staff are incredibly friendly and I do think that the new management is making the restaurant better. The only thing that I truly have to complain about is that the candy section is still there but everything was marked down to half price so maybe they are trying to get rid of it. My husband are in town for a short vacation, and we visited this restaurant for breakfast this morning. Our waitress was Kayla. She was friendly and personable, but also very professional and was able to answer all of our questions as we tried to decide what we wanted. Although I forgot to take a picture of it, my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. He said it was very good. I ordered the banana walnut pancakes with a side of home fries. The portion of pancakes was huge! I definitely did not need to worry about ordering aside. However, my husband was kind enough to eat the home fries for me :-) The restaurant is very cute. It also appears to have a candy and sweet shop attached. We learned that this is very common place in this beach town. Their breakfast menu is very diverse and offers a lot of different options. So, if you're in town for a period of time, you could easily go here each morning and try something different. If you have the occasion to visit this area , make sure to check out this restaurant for a great breakfast! read more

Under new management! My husband and I had the pleasure of getting to know the new owners Andy & Ngoc Lee and some of their staff. It was their 3rd day in operation as the new owners and things were running very smoothly. Everyone seems to work very well together. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The food tasted great- I had waffles, eggs and a side of potatoes. My husband had the pancakes with extras of everything because that's just how he rolls but I must say that the portions are generous and I took some of mine home and ate later-yay! The ambience is welcoming, like you walked into a friend's house. Even though we were just passing through, we will make a point to come back again and recommend to friends. This is a hard one, as the service and food were pretty good, but some of the management policies are dubious. There is a set of double doors at the entry, but the exterior door was propped wide open so when people entered the interior door, so did a lot of flies. There were so many flies inside! Second, the waitresses seemed to be forbidden to bus the tables. There was one man slowly clearing tables, leaving 6 to 7 unbussed tables at any given time. Not to mention they didn't take away any plates we were done with. The prices are reasonable, expect a wait for your food, which again, was very good. read more

We arrived not tooboong after they opened for the day, and the parking lot was pretty empty. We were seated immediately and the server was with us quickly. The place looks great, looked pretty new or remodeled. Staff was attentive. The food was ok to me...not great, but good nonetheless. My wife enjoyed the Irish skillet my son loved his funfetti waffle, and it had the Carolina Ouellette and a biscuit and gravy. As we're leaving, my son (5yrs old) tells the server "this is the best place ever!" She asks him to follow her over to the "boss"....Mr. Andy. When my son tells him how much he liked the place and the food...Mr. Andy gets so excited, giant smile, thanks my son and asks for a hug. He then walks him over to the counter, gives him a small piece of candy ,then guided him over to the candy side and gave him his pick of a sweet treat and then a small stuffed animal. My son and Mr. Andy were both so excited. Now, please don't go in expecting the same thing, as I don't tell you that to set a precedent, rather to say that, that kind of treatment and service is what will bring me back to a place time and again. I've been to House of Breakfast before so I wanted to go back for a Father's Day breakfast . The line was long which I expected . We were asked by hostess on diner numbers she gave us a pager and told us about 10 minute wait after people being seated that came in after us we asked again about the wait the hostess said we were next after next family . She then took 2 more families ahead of us 1 large group and 1 our size we had been waiting 40 minutes at this point . We told the hostess that we were bypassed She said sorry but was still going to make us wait . We gave her our pager and left . Beware of UNDER NEW MANGEMENT signs . We really like this place. I read the reviews and there are a lot about rudeness but I've never gotten that and we have been here plenty. I always get two eggs, sausage, grits and toast.
