I'm from Orange County and nail salons over there are significantly less expensive for pretty much every service. That being said, I cringe whenever I pay over $30 for a simple, no design gel manicure...but the other day I was driving down Central Ave and I saw House of Nails. I gave them a call and they said it was $25 for gel. I was stoke and booked an appointment. I do wish they had a bigger selection for gel nail polish, I think that total they had probably less than 80 colors to choose from. But they do have all the basic pinks, nudes and neutrals which is what I usually get. What I really enjoyed about this place was the fact that it was not packed, there were a few customers, but nothing like overly crowded. I was seated immediately, and the girl who did my nails was quick and precise. She painted my entire nail and didn't leave an space between my cuticle, unlike other places I go to, it grows our quicker than it should. I was in and out the door in less than an hour for gel removal + application. Most places I go to, they keep me for about an hour and thirty minutes. Overall, I was pretty happy and I will be back! This place is underrated!! read more

Expensive acrylic fill was $70 and the gel polish chipped the next day and a few days later all my nails started cracking/breaking. Too expensive to have to get it done again 7 days later. read more

0 star! All chairs, old, torn, and duty. The pedicure I got was unfortunately a waste of money and time. Sloppy work! See for yourself. The nail technician was careless and rushed through it. I did not get her name but she looks like she got a bbl done. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I wanted to try a new place since my regular place isn't open. I was able to walk in and received services immediately. The service I wanted was blacked out ( spa pedicure ) , I asked if I could get that and they said that was fine. The staff are wearing masks but, while I was getting my pedicure the lady next to me did not have her mask on :( The service was $46 and they prefer cash only tips. I'm happy with my toes. Giving 4 stars since they didn't enforce wearing the mask while inside the salon when it's posted. read more

Cero star! Stay away from this business .The service is horrible and very expensive for what they do, they don't disinfect their stuff, they treat new customers badly and they don't have a variety of colors. My mom went last week and got an infection on her finger. Due to lack of time I couldn't go to claim but what I am sure of is that I will never take my mom there. read more

This was the worst experience ever. While he was working on me he cut me twice. He had just finished the gel polish and one hand and then reached over me (because I was on the spa chair) and placed his forearm on my wet nails. He messed them up. I asked him to fix it and he tried to convince me that they were ok when they were visibly not. Then this same man polished my finger tips. It was really bad. It felt like crazy glue on my finger tips. When I asked him to remove the polish he ignored me and took another client. I paid over $80 for service and that was last Friday. Today is Saturday and my gel is straight chipping off. CHIPPING. The pic is of one hand. The other hand is the same . Don't waste your money. read more

Depends on who you get. It's either hit or miss. I didn't get the name of the lady that did my spa pedi but I was NOT happy with the results. she clipped just my left pinky toe in a way that no other nail technician has done before & now that toe hurts when I walk. also, they aren't cut/filed straight. read more

Been coming to this Salon for years! Best mani/pedi. They take their time, they listen to exactly what you want and are fast and great at what they do! Hong is my go to nail esthetician! I also love how clean the place is and how they have so many color options! Don't think about it, just come and try it out for yourself!! I definitely recommend!!! read more

I'm really not usually someone to complain very easily but this is the sloppiest set of acrylics I've ever gotten done. It was my first time visiting and I was with Eric I believe (?) and not only did he not fully listen to what I wanted (I repeatedly said I don't want them too narrow), clearly they're breaking non stop. Some of them the real nail is exposed. When I mentioned this of one nail all he did was shrug and try to file it which did not fix it. I came in Thursday. As soon as a customer HE KNEW stepped into the salon he stopped worrying about me, the customer he was currently working on, and just wanted to get done as soon as possible which is really disappointing. I won't be coming back to a sloppy place that favors different customers. Not a good impression for someone that comes in for the first time. read more

I rarely leave reviews like this but I feel absolutely ripped off. I got a mani/pedi and was charged $91. The price is listed as $50 for the combo but nowhere is it mentioned that's it's an additional $41 for callous removal. She accidentally cut a cuticle too deep and it bled but I didn't say anything or make an issue. I still tipped $15 regardless but will never go back. read more

I don't know where to start. When i first walked in and askes if they take walk in they said yes 5 min. After standing for 30 minutes i ask again and someone approaches me she starts my pedicure half hour later i ask again i was really here for my hands anyone ? My real nails with gel always last when I get them done here. This place is always busy and shows why. The quality of work is worth the wait. Nice and large selection of gel colo Parking is a hassle sometimes. So far they haven't let me down with service and my nails. Give them a try if your in the area read more

I went here just to get an eyebrow wax, when I walked in I looked at the pricing on the wall it said $6 so I assumed that was the cost. After my eyebrow wax was complete, I was charged $21! Eyebrow waxing should not cost that much and if it does they should have at least posted the correct pricing. I paid it, but I will never go back. The wax wasn't anything fancy she used a popsicle stick and sent me on my way. Even threading doesn't cost $21, I thought this was pretty ridiculous. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever received in my life. The workers in here are rude first of all. The lady forgot to massage my feet and I had to remind her. Plus she cut my toe nails way too short all the way to the meat and now it stings everytime I touch it !!!! Mad I wasted my money. read more

WORST PLACE TO GO TO! I left with my thumbs looking like Oompa Loompa. they lie about prices, are absolutely RUDE, they sit and talk about you, didnt even get the shape i asked for,etc. the lady pushed my hand away and was answering her text messages, did my fingers ONE BY ONE for gel and kept hitting the machine against my hand. hate the customer service there will never go back to spend money on people like them. They say $35 in the beginning then magically charge you $55. Service is DISGUSTING! Instead of wanting to make your customers happy they do the opposite! Dont waste your time nor money. read more

I've been going to Paul for months and every time he does my nails, they seem to get worse and worse - even though I tip every time! When you walk into the salon, no one greets you.. it's very awkward. The last time I went in for a hard gel set, I made an appointment. I waited for nearly 45 minutes because he took a walk-in right before my appointment. The very next day my nail begins to chip and it eventually it came all the way off. If I could give zero stars I would. I came here thinking I would only be here for 30 min or less. I came in and asked for an acrylic removal and got seated right away - only to be unattended for 15 min. Throughout what should've been an easy process, my experience was handed off to a total of 4 people - all who attended me in between other people they were providing services for. I ended up sitting there for an HOUR and when they were "done" this is what my hands looked like. Not to mention- they didn't even REMOVE all the acrylic. Half of my fingers still have the material. I can't believe I still got charged after such awful service honestly. This was a complete waste of my time and money. read more

First off, they got the length wrong, told them I wanted to use my natural nail length from the start so when he started cutting my nails I reminded him but he said coffin shape looks better--he had already started cutting my nails so there was no going back. So I said fine no big deal I'll just pick a color and we can do a coffin shape. He clearly rushed it because not even an hour after I left the salon, the gel started to peel off of 4 of my nails! The other ones still have pockets of wet gel in them, very bad quality and the worst part, it cost me $51 for my nails to look like this. UPDATE: went back and they fixed it for free and apologized about the inconvenience. read more

I am so happy that I decided to try this place out!!! I was going to my OG nail salon for about 15 years, but I was so fed up with always waiting (even with an appointment) and not having the best customer service. Hong has always been so nice and her customer service is amazing. She will always make sure I am happy. Tammy and Kathy usually do my nails and I couldn't be happier. The worst customer service. They did acrylic and broke my skin twice and her reasoning was my skin is thin. Then asked me if we can Zelle money almost 200 dollars. I did but they gave wrong number and I had to call the bank To cancel too much headache then they charged on my card. Nail salons are the most unprofessional places. Wondering why Zelle???? I did not have a good experience house of nails ! This place is not clean, the spa chairs are old and falling apart. When I originally first called to schedule my appointment I had asked specifically for a certain lady. Once that was confirmed I made my way to my appointment and when I got there A completely different person started working on my nails. I tried to ask for the specific person I wanted but it seemed like the language barrier wasn't allowing us to communicate correctly. Fine I let that go because I really need my nails done for a special event but now I wish I would've just got up and left. I didn't like my nails at all, I tried explaining what exactly I wanted but he just didn't get it right. I was so frustrated by the end of my appointment that I was just ready to leave. The next few days I was almost even embarrassed to show my husband and friends my nails because that's how bad of a job they did. I couldn't wait for one week to pass by so that I can try and go get them removed. Based on the other reviews of this place doesn't seem like my experience was a rare one. Save your money and time go somewhere else. I would not recommend this place nor will I ever be going back. By the way this was not my first visit to this nail salon. I have been here a handful of times out of convenience, I have never been completely satisfied but today was just the icing on the cake; what I needed for me not to return. read more

I've been seeing Vanessa here for about a year now and I absolutely love her! My sisters best friend had been going to her for years and would always rave about her! I went there expecting high quality nails and I didn't even like the outcome of it. It looks mediocre I felt like crying after getting out the chair. Even after paying 35 dollars technically 36 I felt really sad because of how ugly it looks. The person who did my nails only did 2 coats you can still see it. I've been to other places who do gel and make sure the nail is fully coveted even when it comes to light colors. I went in there expecting that it was so awful I don't know why I expected it to be high quality I feel like my nails are ugly and overall just not presentable. I didn't like them much not what I expected. read more

They also provide a private changing room and a lockable locker for your belongings, so I was able to change into a robe and feel completely at ease- no need to worry about keeping your shirt on in an open space. Lani was awesome and walked me through every step of the process, explaining what she was doing and how each treatment would benefit my skin, but I never once felt bothered or pulled out of my relaxed state. It was honestly the most gentle facial I have ever had. While the masks were setting, she massaged my hands and shoulders, which was a lovely touch that really elevated the whole experience. I did get a little chilly, but that is entirely on me- I run cold! Next time I will just ask for an extra blanket! This kind of care and attention made the whole experience feel truly personalized. I left feeling great and will absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed it and got once a masseuse listened to what I said, I told her soft (my normal pressure is medium but I was scared). But it was too soft! So I told her a little harder. I've been having issues with my back pain since turning 30, so she actually went hard on that area. She told me she would go hard on that area because I had too many knots and soft/medium on my lower body. In terms of pressure, it was still tolerable but definitely a lot more pressure. She was able to get all of my knots out and gave me a great stretch! Normally when I get massages, although I go to a "Thai" place, I feel like it's all been watered down aka they just mean the pressure but not really the technique. This place is not that place. As you can see by the photos, there's a bar that they can hang onto. But she even sat in front of me while I was laying down to use her legs to massage my arms and shoulders (to have better reach). Honestly it's quite remarkable how much body control she has!!! anyway, I really liked the warm towels that they put on you, there were some that she used to wipe the lotion off my back during the massage and then three more towels she used after the massage, 2 she placed on my shoulders while I was sitting upright. Anyway all in all, it was a great massage. I do agree with some of the other reviewers, at the front I asked if I could leave a tip with card. The new salon i went to wouldn't even do the fill for me because they said i don't have many natural lashes left and if they did a fill on me then it wouldn't last. I had no choice but to have them remove what was left on my lashes and i purchased a growth serum after being advised to take a month long break to grow my lashes back and return for a real individual lash set. I'm extremely disappointed in GBY as they've not only been charging hundreds of dollars for lash extensions made with cheap products but Courtney rushes through appointments and she uses hella clusters on what is supposed to be an individual lash set. They don't care about being honest with clients and that is a huge red flag for me.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I have to start by saying that all the bad reviews are TOTALLY exaggerated. I have never left this place unhappy or unsatisfied with my nails. I was referred by my close friend to go to Hong. I've never regretted going to her. I'll share some photos so you can see how amazing she really is. The other employees are also good but Hong is my favorite. I like my nails to be filed super thin, and natural looking. When I say I have tried A LOT of other salons I swear I've tried at least 10 other nail artists and they all disappointed me. The salon itself is spacious, and the staff has always been friendly with me. The salon is usually busy so if you walk in and nobody welcomes you and asks you what you'd like, doesn't mean that they're trying to be rude. Just approach one of them and tell them what you'd like. EVen though Hong always asks new walk in clients and anybody who walks in what they would like. And the end result is my favorite part. I get excited everytime I have to go for my nails. Hong started doing Gel-X nails on me, and I've been IN LOVE with that ever since. She had done acrylics, dipping powder and gel manicure for me as well. When I go in for acrylics at any salon im always hesitant cause I think they're going to make it too thick or mess it up. I told Peter that I wanted them very thin. His work is exceptional. His attention to detail for each nail is amazing. He picked out the cutest shape and design for my nails. I will definitely be coming back here again. They even have parking right next to them.
