This store has been around forever, but then Diamonds are forever, are they not. They're not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination, but the service can be great and it's good to keep your money within the community and that's why I like the place. This is a massive Plaza located at Chimney Rock and Westheimer in the Galleria area which has all kinds of restaurants and good stuff and plenty of parking spaces, which is excellent. I wish that my experience was more in line with all of these other reviews but sadly it just wasn't. Upon pulling up there was a man outside smoking who walks in right before me which I later realized to be the manager Lee that helped me out. (Although he wasn't much help.) Not exactly what I like to see/small but whatever, no big deal. I can deal with talking to someone for 5 minutes that reeks of smoke. I was greeted promptly (the store wasn't very busy.) that's probably the only positive thing I can say. I had come in to look at loose diamonds which I was immediately told they did not have due to a recent change in ownership. So I decided to tell him what I was looking for because I planned on coming back the following weekend when he told me they would have loose diamonds in stock. Before I could even get done fully explaining what I was looking for he cut me off and told me that I absolutely would not find that for the price range I was looking for. (I have already found 4 other Jeweler's that have what I'm looking for and the only reason I went to that many places is because they were all located in the same building. What I was looking for was not hard to find at all.) If he had listened to what I was trying to say he would know that I wasn't looking for the PERFECT diamond I was looking for an eye clean diamond. He also spoke to me so loudly that every other person in the entire store could hear every word he was saying. I think most people appreciate a little discretion when speaking about their budget and what they're purchasing. He basically just pulled up an app on his phone, told me that the price I was asking was basically what he paid for the diamonds, told me I wouldn't be able to get that, raised the budget I had told him by $2000 and then took down my name and number and said he would have his wife call me on Monday after they did some searching. I never heard back. Overall very poor customer service. Also I can only assume they have unreasonably high prices as I have had no problem finding exactly what I want through multiple other jewelers. Save your time, save your money. Go somewhere else. read more

I purchased a watch from Costco today and it needed to be sized to fit my wrist. I stopped by this business because of the good reviews and convenience to my home. I walked in an explained that the new watch needed to be sized and without asking any questions, they immediately went to work to take care of me. The employees all acted very professional friendly. They had me finished in just a few minutes and even showed me a few features on my watch that I didn't know that it had. My fiance originally got my engagement ring online. The pictures looked beautiful, the appraisal was great, but the actual product did not live up to expectations or the appraisal. My fiance's mother had the ring and was getting it appraised at local places and drove by Houston Diamonds. Her instincts told her to turn around. So glad she did! Morris and his team were able to source a beautiful ruby that is bigger and prettier than the ruby on the previous ring and larger diamonds that did not have large chips in them. They were able to design the ring like the previous ring, just larger, more gorgeous, no scratches, and for about the same price as the last ring. We are very pleased with the finished product and really appreciated Morris's dedication to making things as close to perfect as possible. They also offered free cleanings for the life of the the ring and if we ever want more expensive stones they will take the current stones back at the original price.
