My new fave place for chicken. I've also gotten my husband hooked. I love the tenders and you can mix your spice levels. I like mild, buffalo, and medium. Their sandwiches are awesome too! Sweet coleslaw and dill pickles on a brioche bun. Yum. They also have some great sauces! Also, the fries - the best. We've eaten in and done take out. They are even on Doordash! An excellent meal by way of Houston Hot Chicken. This is a nice location that is fairly easy to get in and out of. The employees at the counter and the food delivery person were all super friendly and cared about making sure we had an understanding of heat levels. The mild chicken was a perfect heat level for me and it was super tasty. The tender and fries were also outstanding and a special shout out for the 'house sauce' that comes with the meal. So very good and this is a lot of food. The dining area consists of 8 tables ranging from 4 seats to 6 seats each. Very comfy chairs I might add. Definitely worth many more trips in the future. read more

The two stars are for the incredibly nice staff that was on-shift. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were borderline inedible. Both my wife and I got medium spiced sandwiches, I got the OG, and she got the classic. Our order was to go. For some reason our bill was a whopping $35. We go home to find that, whilst we only ordered sandwiches, my wife had an extra tender, and we both had fries. Okay, on to the sandwiches. Both of our Sandwiches had small, dry, not remotely spicy chicken breasts. Hers' was only partly edible. See the photo's below. We really wanted to love this place, and have been wanting to visit since we arrived in the area, but sadly, for the price we could have gone to a sit-down spot. I am a die hard CFA fan but this place blows it out of the water. Got the buffalo chicken sandwich with tender and it was awesome. Saucy with pickles, ranch, and slaw. The cashier was really helpful for a new customer. The restaurant itself had a really trendy black interior with neons and murals. Not sure older folks would like sitting inside as the music is a little loud and clubby but overall amazing. My new chicken place. Sorry CFA. read more

Insane drive thru wait time! Over a half hour, Definitely not fast food. It's almost like they have to run out catch the chicken, pluck it and cook it. Price is also expensive. 1- chicken sandwich meal that doesn't come with a drink and 1 salad plus 2 Cookies, cost over $42.36 thats a sit down restaurant price! If you're looking for Great flavor and excellent service--look no further than Houston Hot Chicken. Their new location doesn't disappoint and kicked off things with a BANG! My husband and I went to the grand opening and back for dinner later the same day we love it so much. Special shout out to our cashier, Nikolas, who made our return trip even more delightful than the opening day festivities. He was so genuinely proud to be part of the HHC team and passionately knowledgeable about the menu. The rest of the staff are all so friendly and you can tell they love being there and welcoming new customers into the fold. This goes a long way for me. I appreciate that your cashier comes to check on you at your table. It feels so personable and (I'll say again) very genuine. As for the meal, I got the 2 chicken tenders and waffles. You can mix up your flavors. I got one mild and one medium. I will say, the medium had a bit more kick at dinner than it did with the grand opening sandwiches. Still really good and great flavor. I like that HHC's spicienss is flavorful and not just hot. Their house sauce is also a great compliment to dunk your chicken in. We also had the strawberry hibiscus and the cucumber watermelon lemonades. PERFECT thirst quenchers. I'll say this, the chicken war on Newport Hwy is starting to ramp up. The front counter people are super nice. They seem to pull double duty taking orders for the counter, drive thru, and order fulfillment. That being said it might take a few minutes to get help if they're super busy. I got the free combo from Yelp, medium hot - and the free tender, spicy level. Chicken was moist and cooked through but doesn't win awards for the taste. It does win in the spice department. Spicy level is S P I C Y. I can take spice really well, but anyone's who's "just feeling it" today will be feeling it all day long. Be warned, if you can't take spice, don't get "Spicy". Fries are good but I did add some salt. I tried their strawberry hibiscus lemonade, it was good! The counter workers highly recommended it and it holds weight. The store looks good. Nice red vibe with cool art work on the wall, no music playing at the time. It's nice a clean inside. Overall, I'd say it's worth a shot. Chicken Sandwich combos start at $14. Very nice looking interior but in a location that is somewhat hard to enter (mostly going north on the Newport highway, SAME parking lot as BECU). Staff were friendly. You order and pay at a (really cool illuminated) counter. First issue: Your charges appear on the card reader and you are "offered the opportunity" to tip upwards of 15%. After paying, you are given a number to place on whichever table you selected. A couple of tables had not been wiped, yet. After a bit of a wait, your food is brought on small metal trays. Second issue (maybe third, also): My wife got the chicken sandwich, only, and I got the sandwich AND added tender with fries. We both like HOT, which is difficult to find in Spokane so opted for the habanero sauce. They offer multiple layers of heat. The habanero was second from the top of the scale (ghost peppers). My wife thought the heat just right for her but if I went back, I'd drop back a level or two. I also want to taste the chicken. (Third) A sandwich would have been more than enough for me. The breast on the sandwich was about an inch thick and while tender and juicy was very difficult for me to eat as a sandwich. I broke out a plastic knife and fork (hoping no one would see the wimpy man). The added "tender" was also large and a bit of overkill. Not needed. The fries were decent but I'd like a little more seasoning. IF you want extra sauce (small containers), you are charged for that, and prices for everything are pretty darned high. The sandwich alone is $10 (plus tax and tip?). A pretty good spicy and crunchy chicken sandwich at the nearby KFC is only $6. Lastly, you have to get rid of your own trash, which doesn't bother me one iota, but high prices PLUS TIP and you order at a counter and bus your own table?! The top of the waste bin was pretty messy, and the opening IS large enough that their whole tray could be thrown inside. I wonder how many they've lost. Just had to try it, ONCE. I wish them well, though. read more

Usually the food and service here are good but i guess not today. my husband and i both ordered shakes with our meal and to my surprise there was only one. when i went up to the front to ask what happened the food runner ( she's not wearing a name tag so i don't know her name ) she shoved the receipt in my face and didn't say anything. that is just rude. it's not my fault the person taking our order didn't catch that there was another shake but i don't need some girl shoving a receipt in my face. do better. read more

My friends were in town from Vegas and bought me dinner tonight at this new location that just opened yesterday. The staff were great. Really friendly and knowledgeable on the products and the heat ratings for the chicken. I had the original chicken sandwich with pickles and coleslaw. The sandwich was banging. Probably the best chicken sandwich I have had. It came with crinkle cut fries and I had a frozen lemonade. I am definitely a new fan and will be back soon with my boys. It's was an amazing grand opening, really enjoyed there hot spice challenge....very fun to watch them eat the chicken and watch there eyes water. Great all the way around! Food was terrific! I am a wuss and picked honey butter for my spice on my sandwich and it was perfect. Fries were delicious too. The restaurant seemed really clean, even though it was crowded, and one of the employees was super sweet and moved tables around so me and my daughter had somewhere to sit even though it was packed.
