I would give ZERO stars for this company if it lets me. THEY SELL YOU BROKEN PRODUCT AS BRAND NEW AND WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I recommend spending extra money to buy from somewhere else that actually helps you when there is any problem with the product you bought. We bought Samsung Fridge, Washer and Dryer, ALL BRAND NEW. Dryer was assembled terribly which caused more deficit on other parts, and it did not work either. I sent them pictures of the deficit part but they said they can't do anything about the deficit part since they do not see on the pictures the installation guy took. They scheduled for someone to come in a week to take a look at the dryer since it wasn't working.(They made me wait for a whole week!), but NO ONE SHOWED UP on the day. I called and they made me wait ANOTHER WEEK to send someone.(I did not have a dryer this whole 2 weeks or so.) While they were here, I overheard their phone conversation and the person on the other line was asking if it was US who damaged!! Those guys couldn't fix it in the end so they decided to send someone from Samsung to repair. We waited more and Samsung repair came and fixed it. But after a week, it stopped working again. While all this, HOWARDS DID NOTHING. I paid for insurance but they don't replace your product or they don't give you some money back or NOTHING. When I called the store and talked to the sales person what happened, he pretty much said it was my fault for not being able to communicate well with them. What kind of company blames the customers for the bad service they do???!!! I have never been this mad at anybody like this before. They should be giving some money back for all the trouble and the broken product they sold us but NOTHING. Oh and It takes them at least a week to contact you after you call. So I strongly recommend to SAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO A DIFFERENT APPLIANCES STORE, PLEASE. UPDATE: After reporting to BBB, they gave us some money back. You're basically given what's most popular by customers with no technical product know how. This left me on my own and the web. After searching all the big box stores I went to Howard's. I was greeted by Sharad who explained he's been in the business for 38 years. Sharad was kind, able to educate me on the difference of counter depth, French door, uprights. I must first state something: I am a friend of Paul Karandos - though he requested I write a review of our experience when we purchased, I have FINALLY gotten around to doing so months after being asked. I've known Paul for many years, mostly keeping up to date with him through social media. My wife and I needed a few things for our kitchen so we sought out Paul after reading one of his facebook posts about some good deals happening at Howards. Paul, as a friend, is lively and funny, but seeing him as a salesman, which was new to my wife and I, he is definitely in his element. We were very impressed with how he approached the sale from beginning to end. He greeted us (probably more friendly than he would a customer off the street) and let us look around. First off, the store is beautiful. Long story short, he wasn't pushy, knows way more about these things than a person should need to know and he really listened to what we needed and helped us find the perfect appliances for our kitchen. Perhaps it is good I waited the time I did to post this review, because we are still VERY happy with our selections, which he was a major part in helping us make. We recently purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from Howard's and couldn't be more pleased. We were greeted by a salesman who introduced himself as George Moawad, and he let us browse the refrigerator section for a bit. He came over to ask what it was we were looking for in a refrigerator. He asked which ones we had been thinking about. I offered the information I had researched. He was very knowledgable about his inventory. He kindly pointed out strengths and weakness of various models and showed us two models we had not considered, still in the price range we wanted. We thought George was very fair and respectful. We liked one of the models he had suggested that certainly met our needs. We left to go home to measure, just to be certain. He was very friendly and respectful as we walked out, not pushy or sour about us leaving. An hour later I walked back in to purchase the refrigerator. The arrangements for payment and delivery were made very smoothly, as was the actual delivery. We were completely satisfied with the selection and service. I had special ordered a Maytag steam washer & steam dryer from Lowe's. Unfortunately the units had been discontinued. Then I walked into Howard's and lo and behold they had the discontinued units on display. When I went to check-out ONLY the dryer was available, so the salesman sold me the dryer and a comparable washer model (non-steam). However, the salesman did not mention that I needed to purchase a "steam kit" for my dryer. This resulted in an additional service charge because the delivery guys needed to come out a second time to deliver and install the steam kit. However, Luci at Howard's call center and Anna at the Maytag/Whirlpool call center made things "right" by discounting the delivery/service call and promising to reimburse me for the missing steam kit. They both turned a truly HORRIBLE situation into "roses." I am completely satisfied. read more

Every time I buy something at Howards. Every. Stinkin. Time. There is a screw up! If their prices weren't literally the lowest around, I would stop doing business with these guys, but I'm a sucker for a good deal and you can't beat Howard's pricing, and even if you can they'll match anyways. So this particular washer/dryer purchase was the worst, the salesman literally wrote down the wrong model # on the invoice so when the delivery guys delivered the wrong items, they refused to take it back, so I had to track down the same knuckle head that sold the set to me and make him change the invoice and arrange for delivery, obviously this couldn't be done on the phone, so I had to go back to the store and have a 'come to Jesus' chat with him in real life, and who has time for that??!! Not a working mother of 2, I was furious. Anyways, during our convo this D-bag actually tries extort more money from me after I paid him in cash, saying that he can't give me the deal anymore, say whaaaat??!! Luckily, my stank eye face was enough to get him to change his tone. Just sell me the set we agreed on, you ass. But this guy named Sean he said if you guys don't want to pay taxes go to another store. Which we did and the other Howard's didn't add taxes to the price. so being said the guy said he was he owner of this store and what he said to my dad was races towards us and saying like if we don't like the price then we should go back to Mexico. This is my first ever Yelp review. I purchased a microwave, dishwasher and range. We found better pricing elsewhere a few days later and Matt the manager price matched it without any hassle. After the appliances were installed we had a couple issues with the range (no fault of Howards) but sales rep Mike and manager Matt handled it very professionally. I have heard many horror stories of service calls after service calls but Matt replaced the range at no charge. BEWARE of HOWARDS! Their delivery service shattered my chandelier with a ladder in the delivery of a new refrigerator. The refrigerator didn't fit so I selected another one. Ironically the 2nd one was damaged so I refused it. Although initially they agreed to pay for the chandelier- I received a letter that it was denied and I paid $500 out of pocket to replace it. Inspect your items upon delivery. I got a really good deal to replace all my kitchen appliances, for this I'd give them 5 stars. But then the items were delivered--1 star for this. the delivery guys snuck in range that was badly dented on both sides. we didn't realize this until we pulled the range out to check the gas connection. Unbelievably, three of my appliances broke down in a 2-week period. I went to Howard's in Tustin Marketplace. Gary Podwell was my sales rep. He is very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time showing me different options. He made sure I was aware of any current rebates. The fridge I picked out was not immediately available, so Gary offered to loan me a new freezer until the new fridge was delivered (thus saving all my food in my "broken" freezer). Extremely disappointed. Purchased 4 appliances from Howard's with warranty's for our business. We have had the repair man out 4 times in 6 months for the dryer. Long story short, the manager sold us an appliances that will not meet the demands of our needs. Even after they were fully explained to him. We had an issue with our oven and after dealing with the manufacturer unsuccessfully, we were so pleased to find that Howard's stood by their product and resolved our issue with a new oven. Set up delivery which never happened the first time because I live in balboa island and they said they couldn't get over the bridge. Funny since moving vans trash trucks etc do every day.
