The food and service is very nice here and the place is a staple of the old Ferndale, which i hope never goes away. Our dishes were well prepared, simple but flavorful. Oysters are Our go to here along with the jumbo shrimp.

s across the board! I was originally looking for a happy hour but when I called, the customer service was so good I'm like let me go in here anyways. It was so worth it. Customer service the shrimp the whitefish dip (the waitress let me taste hers) i got the berry blossom drop which is like a lemon drop.. I'm coming back for the shrimp and whitefish dip alone. I have no complaints.

Absolutely love this place! Inside vibes are good but we sat on the patio and experienced great service. Food and drinks were quite affordable for what we're used to, which encouraged us to order more than needed. As far as I know, this is the only place in the area serving authentic New Orleans cuisine. Jambalaya was so flavorful and the perfect amount of spicy. Next time I will definitely add shrimp! The catfish po boy bread was fresh and toasted to perfection. Drinks were strong and the server was attentive and kind. Both of us left saying "I can't wait to come back!"

I'm telling you....the fried catfish has me in a CHOKEHOLD!!! It is soooo good every time I order it. We ordered takeout for lunch and it did not disappoint. This time I also ordered the sweet potato fries with the greens and everything was spot on! If you haven't been yet, just go!

We usually go to Hamtramck for fat Tuesday, but I started a new job and didn't want to take the time off this year. So we decided to go out after work instead. The festivities don't last late into the night on fat Tuesday so we decided to take a different route and do fat Tuesday mardi gras style. Neither of us had been here before so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. This place was packed full of people! The line was out the door. It's very small. There isn't a lot of seating. We managed to get in rather quickly for how busy it was! They had great drinks and a special Mardi gras menu. The food was great! We really enjoyed the live music too. I would definitely recommend this spot!

The place is a bit small, but they definitely turn tables quickly. Service was fine, no complaints. Food was excellent. Generous portions. we split the fried shrimp to start which I did not get a picture of. The sauce that was served with it was delicious. I had the fried catfish, smothered with the shrimp étouffée which was served with dirty rice and cornbread. Everything was fantastic. Finished with the bread pudding, which was the best I had ever had. I'll be back

    Delicious wedding meal

Went to a wedding this weekend that was catered by Howe's Bayou. It was the absolute best creole food I have ever eaten! The chef was serving us and everyone couldn't say enough about the delicious entrees. Cornbread, collard greens, rice and beans, salad, rice and shrimp dish, chicken dish and the best Mac n cheese hands down! Everything was seasoned perfectly, rice was cooked just right and not mushy, and I felt like I was eating a traditional well prepared meal down south. We are looking forward to taking our family for a meal at the restaurant next weekend after a visit downtown Detroit! Highly recommend!

It's relatively small inside, but the outdoor seating is comfortable, and the bar looks like a great place to sit if you can grab a seat. The service was outstanding. Everyone knew the menu inside and out, had great recommendations, and kept everything moving at the perfect pace. We tried both the hot and cold lobster rolls, and both were excellent. The Millennium Falcon seafood tower was the star of the meal--fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely worth ordering. The oysters were some of the best I've had recently, especially considering we're this far from the ocean. The crab dip was unique, flavorful, and something I'd happily order again. The only dish that didn't quite hit for me was the lobster gnocchi. It was presented beautifully, but for my palate there was just a little too much tarragon in the cream sauce. That's more of a personal preference than a flaw in the dish. The restrooms were clean, parking is limited, but so is the seating, so it seems to balance out. Overall, there's really not much bad to say about Voyager. Excellent seafood, knowledgeable service, and a fun atmosphere make it one of the better dining experiences in the area. I'd gladly return

It's little changes like that that elevate the dish beyond other regular sushi offerings. It was so appreciated! We ordered the spicy tuna roll. It had the excellent tuna and then they put yum sauce on it. That was odd because it masked the beautiful taste of the bluefin tuna, and that made it a miss for me. If you order, do yourself a favor and tell them no sauce. The dragon roll had real snow crab inside and eel and avocado on top. This also had a crunchy topping that I would tell them to hold if I did it again. It didn't really add anything to the dish and it obscurred the taste of the tender eel a bit. Not until I broke open a piece to isolate the snow crab could I truly appreciate the delicate flavor. It got a little lost inside the vibrant roll. The red dragon roll was well balanced and exactly what I was expecting. The bluefin tuna could easily shine on top of this roll. And it did. It was rich and succulent. The tigerlilly roll was lovely and topped with salmon and roe. It says on the menu it was torched. Ours was not. It was perfect the way we got it though, so I wouldn't change anything. I also ordered eel sashimi and the avocado, asparagus and cucumber roll for something refreshing. We all shared the rolls as we had drinks at the bar. Our bartender was attentive, friendly, and brought the sushi along with serving us our drinks. The lychee martini was a hit. What an interesting and slightly tart flavor! It was a light-hearted and fun time and I would go back in a heartbeat .

The layout includes three bars: the main bar, the sushi bar, and the tiki bar. The crab rangoon cheese katsu sticks were as good as they sound. I was worried there wouldn't be much crab, but that wasn't the case. The lobster tail robata was easy to peel, and complemented well by its accompaniments. The pork belly robata was tender, while the tare added some sweetness. Of the two, I preferred the pork belly. I've had four of the six bao buns. The chicken had a char flavor, and the steak sauce added some welcome moisture. The filet was tender, with a bold but not overbearing garlic aioli. The pork belly was also tender, glazed with a sweet honey, and balanced by some savory pickles. The sausage had a nice snap, and the Fresno peppers gave it a bit of a kick. The filet and pork belly were my two favorites. The sushi is some of the best I've had locally. The shikotsu roll (wagyu and bone marrow) was incredibly rich and buttery. $36 may seem steep, but it's the most memorable sushi roll I've ever had. The toro (fatty tuna) to caviar was also very impressive, and had soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Here's how I rank the nigiri I've tried: 1. Tamago (omelette) 2. Madai (sea bream) 3. Aji (horse mackerel) 4. Shima Aji (striped jack) 5. Ikura (salmon roe) 6. Uni (sea urchin) Lastly, for dessert, I've had the key lime pie. It was remarkably fluffy and honestly one of the best slices I've had. Simply put, TigerLily blew me away. I can confidently say it's one of my favorite restaurants in the Metro Detroit area. I'll be back soon to try the brunch, noodle, and sandwich options.

What a terrific experience. Oysters. Radish salad. Wild boar kebabs. Lamb ravioli. Quail. Cabbage. One course after another had us looking at each other and saying, "I want to lick the plate." Our serving team was led by Rachel, who was outstanding. Everyone who brought a dish to the table was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely excited about the food. Even in a packed restaurant, they made us feel like we were the most important guests in the room. The décor is fascinating--eclectic, quirky, and full of personality. Nothing seems to match, yet somehow everything works perfectly together. The drinks were spectacular. They even had my favorite beer, Miller Genuine Draft (yes, I'm old school). And the bartender is a Knicks fan, which certainly didn't hurt. One final tip: visit the website and watch the video about the history of Mabel Gray before you go. The place is small and you can see the open kitchen pretty well. If i went back id ask for a table in the back so i could watch the kitchen the best. The food overall was spectacular, this must be the best restaurant in detroit. The radish carpaccio and the goat cheese bread were insane, so much flavor in every bite. All of the savory food was spectacular and the quality of the meats and the freshness of the veggies really shined through in every item. The service was top notch, every dish was well explained and my eating area was cleaned and silverware replaced whenever dirty. The speed of service was amazing, i eat quick and they brought my courses quickly while the group next to me was slower and they weren't rushed, clearly adjusted service for both our groups. I have two criticisms: 1. The chocolate cake dessert was lack luster and boring compared the rest of the menu. 2.
