Howe's really came thru for me after getting estimates from 4 different companies: with each estimate recommending something different. Zack and then Tom, and the office staff took the time to understand what I really needed and then make a solid, well-founded recommendation. They also took the time to answer all of my questions and was patient with me when I asked questions again. When the crew got here to install new HVAC and Duct work they were on time, easy to work with and went right to work. They were also a happy bunch and seemed to work really well together. NOT HAPPY. I WAS happy with them, now I am extremely disappointed. They'd come out and fixed my mobile home HVAC twice, did good work, at a good price, and I left them 5 stars then. I called last week because my HVACvac is leaking and flooding my floors. I was told a technician would call me back. THEY NEVER CALLED. So I called again today, (6 days later) politely said "I'm sure you're busy this time of year, I just wanted to make sure I didn't get lost in the shuffle" and was told they no longer do mobile homes. Fine, they're a private business, they can do whatever they want. However, just blowing me off and not calling back to tell me this is unforgivable and totally unprofessional. It means 6 more days of water flooding my floors, and causing mold, which is a big problem for my wife. This is totally disrespectful, and frankly, makes me feel like they're elitist snobs, because apparently they think I'm in a mobile home I didn't deserve a call-back and can just be ignored. Who cares if my floors are ruined, huh? Also, the lady didn't seem to know what she was talking about, asking me if I had a wall unit. It's not a freakin' RV, it's a nice 1300 square foot mobile home. I don't even know what a wall unit HVAC is. There's no wall sort of anything in my house, it's exactly like a stick-framed house HVAC. I told her it's a regular HVAC unit, not a window unit or whatever. Plus, they've fixed it twice, so obviously she didn't bother to look up my history on their computer. * So, to be clear, they can refuse any work they want to. My issue is them blowing me off and not calling me back to tell me this. I can imagine a conversation like this between the woman who took my call and the owner: A: "Hey, this guy's mobile home Hvac unit is leaking water, and he wants a call-back..." B: "We don't do mobile home repairs anymore." A: "OK, should I call him back so he can find someone else?" B: "Naw, don't bother." A: But it's leaking all over his floors." B: "So what? That's his problem." They had no intention of ever calling me back. THAT is the problem. A real pro would never do that to someone, knowing they're suffering actual harm because of it. read more

Let's start this review with how we found these amazing people. Imagine a horrendous heat wave with no evening cool down that lasted 2 weeks. No cool air coming from the air unit. Literally had to sleep outside as our upstairs was grueling! Called a few companies, one was ridicules, said we needed a whole new system to the tune of $20k - Tom from Howes Co came out and said we just needed a capacitor. Changed it out in 10 minutes. Great! But the story continues, our system was older, noisy and most likely inefficient. Kept in touch with Angie (wife, office manager, woman extraordinaire) and we set up for a new install. I have been Using Howe's for a few years now and have had nothing but excellent service from Tom the owner and Zach his son, They are the only company to let me know that my system was over charged and was leaking, once they fixed it it ran like a champ for another couple of years. Gave them a call due to our AC had stopped working during some high heat days as while we were out of town. Angie was so friendly and professional and got us on schedule for next day but said if anything became available earlier she'd give us a call. Having used them in the past, when I decided to have my central heat and air system checked out, I called and was given an appointment for Friday between 8-10 am. Jesse called me about 10 minutes before 8 to say he would be heading to my home soon. He arrived about 8:15 with his helper, Jake. Our air conditioning went down 3 times in 21 days causing us to suffer through 90-104 degree temps with no air. We had 2 other companies here to fix it, each time they assured us it was fixed but days later it would break again. Today Howes spent more than 2 hours to properly diagnose the problem and complete the repair. He then spent the time to go over the maintenance and how to get better efficiency from the system. I would NOT recommend this company to friends or family. The very first appointment the gentlemen showed up almost half an hour late. Not too bad, right? Wrong. I was given a 3 hour window in which to be home (yes I said 3 hours) and about 25 minutes AFTER the 3rd hour was up I got a knock on my door. Not only did I not receive an apology for being late but his demeanor in general was not friendly. I have children in my home and generally when someone new comes in they are very interested in whats going on, etc. Not a friendly face or smile to save your life! Customer service is VERY inportant to me, and even though I am not the direct billing customer (I rent my home and the landlord takes care of the bill) you would think good customer service would be implemented ALL around, not just to the paying party. The job got done in a very untimely manner, but done nonetheless. We did have to wait an additional day for a part to be "ordered", but I would bet if they showed up before the close of the first business day they would have had ample time to go get the part needed so my 4 children didn't have to go without heat an extra day. I will be notifying my landlord of the poor customer service provided, not impressed. read more
