We were going downtown for a concert, craving some sushi and found this place on Yelp. No…read morereservations available, I did check their website where you can be adding to a waitlist, but it stated currently no waitlist and invited us to just arrive at restaurant. We arrived a little after 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. But in the next 20 minutes it filled up and there was open sitting at the bar only. The mood was initially quiet but quickly turned more up beat as the restaurant filled and pop rock music was playing. We asked our waiter a few questions about a few of their rolls and he was very helpful with guidance and recommendations. We ordered Salmon Lemon, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado Maki and California rolls to share for two. This restaurant uses purple rice rather than traditional white rice. This was the first time we have tried a sushi roll made with purple rice and we both loved it. It added a nutty flavor and hearty texture. Purple rice is similar to wild rice and far nutritionally superior to white rice with more antioxidant and fiber. Shortly after we ordered we were served a potsticker dish. I mentioned that we did not order the item and were informed the appetizer was complementary. We thanked the server and tasted the dish. The potstickers were nicely pan fried and had a great crust and flavorful chicken filling. Delicious! About five minutes later our rolls were delivered. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorite was the Salmon Lemon roll. We loved the pop the lemon added. Honorable mentions to the Spicy Tuna roll, very well done, excellent balance of heat and flavors. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a quality sushi experience!

When I first started coming here, owner Betsy Yee held command of the order desk with efficiency and charm. Always with a sparkle in her eye, she served her guests into her 80s, I think! Tonight I swung through the drive-thru for a spicy teriyaki bowl and Lyn Yee, the owner's daughter hustled my order out to me, even though there was a truck in front of me. What you'll get her is friendly service, a welcome familiarity, reliably good food and a reason to come back again and again. They use good ingredients and definitely don't skimp on serving size. A bowl always gets me two enjoyable meals! I am ashamed I haven't reviewed Blue Fin sooner! It's a legend in Central/Downtown food circles. Amid all the concepts that open with fanfare only to fizzle soon thereafter, Blue Fin stands true to its specialty by serving consistently good food...with a hustle and smile.

The service was lovely, the atmosphere felt intimate and genuine, and the food...My god the food! I have to recommend their creamy miso, the pork was cooked to perfection! If you do end up going, there is one thing on the menu you absolutely must try: The matcha tiramisu!! I am speechless to how good this is, its not super tiramisu-esq in flavor, yet their own rendition is impeccable, flavor and texture alike! I hope you guys try this little local shop, and I hope they have a fruitful future. Thanks again to the owners for a wonderful dinner :)

My friend and I were greeted right away and told to sit anywhere we'd like. There's plenty of seating available, including a long communal table. We chose a table near the entrance a friendly server came by shortly after. I ordered the creamy veggie ramen ($14.25) which comes with sesame paste, vegetable, green onion, and corn. I added a soft boiled egg for $2. The ramen was tasty and definitely on the creamy side. I enjoyed the flavor. I appreciate that they have a vegetarian option, I just wish the veggie came with tofu. Even though there's an option to add an egg, it's just not enough protein for me. My friend ordered the spicy miso ramen and loved it. When we saw homemade matcha tiramisu, we couldn't resist, so my friend and I shared an order. It was light and delicious and the matcha flavor was subtle. Highly recommend. We had a great experience and would recommend Ramen Kagawa to others.

5 star dinner restaurant in Central Phoenix. Asian noodle focus with bao buns. Drinks, service,…read moreand entrees were all top notch. Able to get a reservation for Thursday night at 6.30. Most of the lower set tables were taken so the rez came in handy. Ample bar seating available however. Greeted right away by server and offered drink menus. Both the drinks were phenomenal. I originally wanted the Asahi but they were out of it so they gave me a Japanese Lager from Los Angeles (?), blanking on the name. The Caipirinia was the other drink which was made authentically as well. No complaints on the bartender. Food was 3 Bao Buns and a Chow Mein entree with grilled chicken added on top. This was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. The Bao Buns were extremely soft and light on the breading. If you get them from Din Tai Fung they tend to be dough heavy. These were NOT like that. Chicken and Eggplant buns were tasty and had a light kick to them. Noodles were probably the weakest items, I prefer the rice/flat noodles, but these were normal chow mein noodles. But I had to split the dish with my dining companion who enjoyed the noodles quite a bit. I'd go with Udon or Flat Noodles next time and ask them to add chili flakes. No room for dessert but it sounded delicious, something with bananas. Mhmmm!

There were still about 4 groups still in the restaurant, but was mainly open. I could see this place getting busy during the weekends though, so recommend a res if you're here during peak hours. We started with cold sake and a couple of cocktails. Super cute and yummy drinks, creative and complimented the overall theme. The Asahi beer was huge and came with an ice cold glass, perfect! We got the orange chicken and drunken noodles with added chicken breast. The food was fresh and tasty. I liked that the orange chicken came with rice, and was not overly breaded. The drunken noodles were pretty salty but overall good. These two entrees were enough for two people to take a little bit of leftovers home. Recommend for a nice date night or if looking for some Asian fusion. We'll be back!
