The inside is kept clean and has plenty of tables for you to sit and enjoy eating your food. On this particular visit I ordered the Sumo and it is a huge meal and plenty for two people to share. The service is excellent as well as the food. If you are ever in the area stop by and get something to eat. They do have takeout in case you are in a hurry. It's been 25 years since I went to Yoshi's at Central & Indian School. I moved away and now my daughter lives in Phoenix. Frankly I was amazed it was still there. The teriyaki chicken was excellent. Living in western Washington you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a teriyaki joint and Yoshi's rivals them easily. came in on my day off to have lunch. I was planning to eat inside, but as soon as I walked in, the heat was overwhelming. Honestly, I couldn't tell if it was hotter inside or outside. I ended up taking my food to go because it was just too uncomfortable to stay. What really disappointed me was seeing the employees working in those conditions. I was only inside for a few minutes waiting for my food, and I was already sweating. I can't imagine having to work an entire shift like that. Terrible customer service. I sent my food back because it wasn't made properly (my bowl was filled with water). I requested to have rice instead and they said no because they already replaced what I made and they can't do it over. The person didn't speak English too well so I would imagine there was a possible language barrier. Either way take your money elsewhere. read more

The food was really good, there was almost no wait time at all, and the price is one of the cheapest in the area!

I was really hot and thirsty walking south on Central Ave. so I went in here for a soda. The interior is kind of dumpy and dirty. There were more flys than customers. The furniture is ugly and tacky. Service was average and I had to ask for napkins. I didn't try the food but with such lousy atmosphere and mediocre service I am taking a hard pass on another visit. Not recommended. read more

What the pho! 1st off Rude staff that you rush at the drive-thru. Very horrible, old oily cooked in grease taste. The dragon fried rice is waste of time. Yakisoba noodle bowl is joke. Just ok, but the bowls are budget friendly for a quick bite. My girlfriend really likes the dragon bowl, so I'm only speaking on my teriyaki bowl. The chicken was a bit dry. I'm pretty certain I was served the residual pieces in the tray before it gets refilled with a new batch. However, they did provide a generous amount. The veggies were bits of shredded cabbage, carrots and broccoli and left something to be desired. The brown rice had good texture and the teriyaki sauce was good. I did eat it all. A solid 3 stars for an inexpensive, on the go lunch. read more

Nothing too special. Yoshi's offers quickie fast food Japanese food at reasonable prices. The happy hour deal is great: $2.77 for a teriyaki bowl with rice (Every day from 3-5 PM). It's a very basic bowl with white rice, chicken breast and teriyaki sauce. It was made in a short amount of time and we were out in no time. I did notice that they have a Coca Cola freestyle machine so you can have a custom beverage with your meal here. The interior is a bit dingy and faded, and the atmosphere isn't the most welcoming but if you want a cheap meal this is a good option if you're in the area. read more
