What's not to like about a BBQ joint situated in an old gas station building in the shadow of the interstate where they put a plate of hot cornbread in front f you before going and getting you a menu? Answer: Nothing. Especially when every minute of the dining experience makes you question how you managed to pull off the road in Casper Wyoming and end up somewhere between a garage BBQ IN Tennessee and a juke joint in South Louisiana. We have another winner here, and one worthy of a cross country culinary search. We ate ribs, beans, and Mac & cheese. In my opinion this is the Holy Trinity of BBQ. UNLESS you are in Texas where brisket is the mandatory meat. Any other side is a waste of human vitality when you are contemplating fine BBQ. Well I had the brisket and Q with salad and drink. Every thing seemed to taste alright except the drink. I made it home and that is when everything went south. I was in Casper for a conference and found this place by chance and it was fantastic. Service was great, food was great. Probably the best sweet potato fries and creamiest Mac I've ever had. We stopped in for lunch. $30.71 (+ tip) bought a double appetizer of onion rings and zucchini fries, and a 2 meat (brisket, ribs), 2 sides (steamed broccoli and mac 'n cheese) platter, with a refillable soft drink (Pepsi products). We started out with very good cornbread topped with honey butter. Yum. The zucchini fries, while a bit too salty, were nevertheless as tasty as they were unusual. The onion rings were standard commercial fare, but paired well with the mildest of the three excellent house sauces. Both meats had good smoke, but the ribs did not separate cleanly at the bite, and needed the spiciest of the three sauces provided to bring them to life. The same was even more true of the chopped brisket, which otherwise tasted like tender but unseasoned pot roast. There is limited seating here, and the service was slow. For us, therefore, there was not enough here to warrant a return visit. read more

Long day that ended in a fantastic meal! Wow! AMAZING! This does not say enough! After 10 hours driving we were looking for a place. I'm glad I found this. We had Prime Rib, an HQ burger, and the Q Plate. When we first got there, we were welcomed with fantastic warm cornbread. Each bite was more amazing. Do yourself a favor and stop and give this a try. Stopped in for a bite while traveling through. Lots of parking available as it looks like its in what was an old gas station. Somewhat small inside but good if you have a large group too. Their menu boats fresh squeezed juice every day. We asked what the juice of the day was and found out it was pineapple, strawberry, orange spritzer. It was tasty and refreshing. My husband ordered "the top two" which includes the ribs and brisket and two sides. He opted for the zucchini fries and the brisket chili. For meat that is supposed to be smoked each day, he found very little smoke flavor. He got the bourbon habanero sauce and found it to be good with a weak kick at the end. The chili had barely any meat in it - in fact he called it "salsa." The zucchini fries were delicious. Would ordered those again. Perfect crunch although some were a little saltier then others. I tried the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese. The pulled pork with very moist and the bun was delicious. I got the sweet sauce and really enjoyed the tang. The mac n cheese was decent. Well where to start ? Let's start with service, when one goes to a restaurant your expecting good service. Well not here so much. I've been to the this place twice and was NOT impressed by the service whatsoever. Both times I been I've had the same server, and both times it seems like she has a chip on her shoulder like she doesn't care about the people who's coming into the establishment. My last visit I asked what was a popular item and what was good and I got whatever you want is good, this time I asked what was the epic make an cheese and with a crappy look I got told "It's epic". Last time I asked how the ribs were and with an attitude I got told it's ribs. This time I ordered brisket the plate come out and my French fries were hotter the brisket. I told my waitress ( which I believe she is the manager) that my brisket was cold and with an attitude AGAIN told me "well did you start eating" ? I told her yes and it was cold. She did bring me more which wasn't much better and needless to say I had a few bites, ate the fries paid an left. I mean I went there thinking it would be better but this is twice and that's not okay in my opinion. Both times I been here the lady is running around like there's a place full and there's not it was around (6) people at most and that's pushing it seated. When you get seated the menu is slid to you and when she comes back around an you order your drink or food it seems like your being an inconvenience by ordering or asking for something. In my personal opinion that's not how the hospitality business works or goes an if you don't like serving people then you shouldn't be doing it. So I think my business in my opinion is done there. I drive through Casper frequently so based on fellow yelpers I decided to pull off I-25 and give it a try. The building is in what used to be a gas station but the pumps are gone making for ample parking. It was near the lunch hour so they were fairly busy with only 1 table open but three open seats at the bar. I bellied up and ordered a brisket sandwich with sides of coleslaw and mac n cheese. The service was a bit slow and robotic but my order was taken eventually. The brisket sandwich was good with an ample serving of brisket on a hoagie bun. I should have asked for the sauce on the side because brisket doesn't always need the sauce. The bun itself was dry so I used the sauce to moisten the bun mostly. The coleslaw was sloppy with a lot of the juice settled in the bottom of the container. The mac n cheese was delicious, so creamy and the macaroni cooked just right. The food was good and the serving size was generous with the prices being reasonable. The building has been converted nicely and the décor is sort of industrial chic I guess. I will stop for lunch again to sample the pulled pork and maybe on a subsequent trip the ribs. read more

I ordered the Top Two (ribs and brisket) with onion rings and mac 'n chrese.. the portions were *big*. The sausage had just the amount of spiciness and paired well with the brisket chili with tthe loaded queso adding the perfect creamy touch. We are from out of town and we yelped this place. We have big rv's + tow vehicles. There was lots of parking in surrounding close businesses. The outside looks like a gas station, when you go in it looks like a a fun bbq house. They quickly accommodated all 9 of us. Super friendly, and attentive staff, we got our drinks quickly as well as cornbread. When we were getting ready to order the power on the block went out. They communicated that to everyone quickly and efficiently. It smelled amazing and we were willing to wait. After about a 15 minute wait the manager and our waitress brought us out a feast of family style food of what they had available. Not one item was not phenomenal! The power came back on right as we were finishing up, and they way under charged us for the amount of food they brought us! We both got steamed broccoli. The broccoli was perfectly prepared. I got a draft beer. The restaurant is located in a readapted gas station and auto-repair shop.
