Location 4: Century City!, inside the Westfield Century City Mall. Access is through the mall and does involve some walking and escalator rides from the underground parking. Trendy open air "fast" dining. The sitting area is outdoors with a retractable canopy over your head. Bar style seating only. No tables. I visited in May and the weather was super nice and comfortable, but it may not be so in the heat of summer or the dead of winter. It's first come-first served only (no reservations), so be prepared to stand in line during busy hours. Parking 2: No free parking. Paid parking in the Mall's underground structure. HRB does not validate. Food: 5. HRB stands for Hand Roll Bar. As mentioned above seating is bar style only, and dining menu is primarily hand rolls. They did have a takeout cut roll offering when I visited to address business during the pandemic, but I'm not sure if this would become permanent. You can order soup, appetizers, sashimi, and meticulously constructed hand rolls; a'la carte or in 3, 4, 5, or 6 piece combination bento style boxes. We had miso soup and some hand rolls. Fish was fresh, presentation and plating was creative and trendy, and the seaweed was crisp as it should be. Overall a great culinary experience. Drinks: 5 Modest but appropriate-for-the-venue beer, sake, and soft drinks. Service: 5 Friendly, pleasant and attentive. Couldn't ask for more. Tips are automatically added to the check and extra tipping is not allowed. The last word: I visited HRB during the Yelp Elite Event in June 2021 and it was an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Parking and access are not the best, but the food, drinks, and service definitely more than compensate for the shortcomings. I will definitively go back again. Highly recommended! read more

Came here during happy hour and there was no wait. Just walked up and took a seat. It's nice that it's outdoors (but covered) especially since there was music in the atrium of the mall. I had the three handrolls-signature, albacore and salmon and then added on a bay scallop. Also got a sakura cocktail. The cocktail was really good and the hand rolls were good too. The food came out quickly and the staff checked in on me quite often which was nice. The rolls are not actually rolled up when they bring it out to you so you get to roll it up yourself. They also give you a dropped bottle which I realized later was soy sauce. (I do wish someone had actually said by the way this is the soy sauce because I wasn't sure at first when they dropped it off.) read more

Great experience, great service, great food. Got the 3 hand rolls (signature, albacore, and salmon) and all had freshly cut fish, a perfect amount of seaweed and rice. The only thing is the nori was a tad bit stale- definitely prefer crispier and fresh nori. Highly recommend eating there and not taking it to-go. The experience of eating the hand roll there makes it unique. House sake was also great- smooth and easy to drink. Parking is underground, free for the first hour. read more

Loved the outdoor sushi bar experience in the middle of Century City mall, but sadly the sushi lacked taste. A bit on the dry side too and that's not good when it comes to raw fish. This spot is located in the century city mall by the food court. It's a small but cute place with bar seating. It's very similar to Kazunori as it specializes in sushi hand rolls. We ordered some miso soup, spicy tuna crispy rice, edamame, and each a #4 combo. The spicy tuna crispy rice was sooo small so we were a bit disappointed, however it was still tasty. The #4 combo comes with 4 hand rolls and you can also ask to substitute if you want. The boxes are really cute and it adds to the whole experience. I've heard great things about HRB Experience but never had the chance to pass by since I live on the other side of LA. However, today was my lucky day. I visited the HRB Experience located in Century City Mall around 12:30 on June 08. The location might seem small at first from the outside but can easily accommodate around ~30 something people. Anyways, when I arrived I was greeted cheerfully by one of the servers and told to wait a bit before being seated since the place was already busy due to lunch hour. After being sat down at the bar, I was immediately served cold water and given a nice bottle to help myself to more, which was definetly helpful due to the hot weather today. After a quick look at the menu, I ordered at first the three piece salmon, yellowtail and albacore sashimi. The fish is well presented and the flavor is amazing. The salmon was delicious and melts in your mouth thanks to the truffle ponzu, but both the albacore and yellowtail stood out as my favorites. The yellowtail comes with a bit of yuzu kosho paste which gives it a boost of flavor, while the albacore comes with ponzu and crispy onions for an amazing combo. After being amazed with the initial serving, I was left wanting for more and ordered a lobster hand roll and o-toro hand roll. In case you're wondering, the lobster was served fresh. However, you can also order the lobster baked if that piques your palate instead. The rolls are given in a neat box. However they are not rolled for you, which you easily do on your own. This is great because you can easily see the generous portion of fish used and the seaweed does not get soggy right away. Speaking of seaweed, the quality is superb and is pretty crunchy. Finally to finish things off, the head chef was generous enough to offer me a small order of omakase, in which he created an order of salmon sashimi with lava salt, yuzu, and another thing or two which I unfortunately forgot. The taste was AMAZING and had a mostly tangy flavor, with a small kick of "spice" thanks to the lava salt. The other thing I was offered was a baked blue crab hand roll which was just the perfect thing to finish things off. The combination of baked blue crab with some Kewpie mayo is perfect! Overall my first experience (lol) with HRB was amazing thanks to everyone, from the servers at the bar to the hard working chefs in the back. A friend of mine went with me to this amazing sushi place called HRB (The Hand Roll Bar Experience) at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, California. It's my first time in this area. And I've learned that this is the newer HRB location. And it's amazing. I looked over the menu and I must say they got some pretty good choice to choose from. It's nothing like any other sushi places I've ever been to in my entire lifetime. Food: I've got the following handrolls... Toro (Blue Fin Tuna), Salmon, Blue Crab, Albacore Belly, and Lobster... all of them with Nori (Seaweed). When my friend and I got the goodies (at the same size), we were crazy taking picture of it. I can tell right away it gonna be pretty darn good. As I take it very slow on the hand roll, I was enjoying it (every bite of it). It was fresh, and quality was all there. I can't think of any other sushi places that could compete against this one. It's the best sushi place ever. Cost of food: $8 lobster $5 Albacore Belly $4.25 Salmon $5 Toro $4.25 Blue Crab My friend really enjoyed her food. I forgot what she ordered though. But it sure was delicious. Service: Since they're pretty new. I don't have much to say about it, but I really love Mahshid's great customer service and personality. She was super sweet. I'm giving a 3.5 star because the food are below my expectation for hand rolls. I love the concept of this place. Open bar set up, hand rolls are made fresh after you ordered it. But I'm not a big fan when they mix the fish with condiments like mayo e.g. the scallop :/ My favourite one is probably the salmon because it is closest to the fish original taste - but the fish quality is average. Today I got to witness two guys take down almost 40 handrolls between them which was the most anyone had done per our waiter lol. Decently priced, I usually spend about $35 on rolls to get full. As a big fan of Kazunori, I was excited to try this place located inside Century City Mall. There's seats around an outdoor bar and I decided to go with the 6 piece set. I loved the presentation when they brought out the rolls and each one was delicious! The sushi sushi was fresh and the rice was nicely seasoned and was super filling. Came here while visiting a friend in LA on a busy Saturday night. Although restaurants in LA do require proof of vaccination to dine-in as this restaurant is entirely an "outdoor bar" they did not ask us for our vaccination record. They did a decent job trying to keep everyone as far apart as possible. When we showed up, we were sat at the opposite end of the bar as far away from others as we possibly could be which was nice, however when it started getting busy, there was no choice but to have others sat next to us, with at least 1 bar stool between us. The service took a little longer than expected when we arrived (we stood at the "wait to be seated" area for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us being there) and it took about 10 minutes to get waters and the "specials" menu. The staff wasn't all too busy either when we arrived as there were only 2 other "tables" at the time. Once we did receive menus, the service was quite quick, we received our bottle of sake promptly and our rolls in a matter of minutes. The fish was nice but lacked a special something and although the way they plate was lovely, the way they make their spicy tuna and crab looked like it was pressed into a mold then pushed out onto some rice and nori. We enjoyed the "roll it yourself" situation and were pleased with the overall experience. I am still a bit partial to Kazu Nori, but this was still a nice experience. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open for months and I finally got an opportunity to try it out for dinner last night. As an I individual who enjoys Sugarfish, I didn't have high expectations as the price is very affordable. However, I was truly amazed when I took my first bite into all my hand rolls. The fish and rice are very fresh and I can almost say I enjoyed it more than Sugarfish themselves. Their sashimi isn't drowned in sauce which I personally enjoy as I prefer to add sauce to taste. The service was extremely fast and we were in and out in 15 minutes. I am always looking for a place to get a quick bite as I usually come before a movie and I'm glad I found a spot with fast service that isn't the food court. Each roll ranges from about $4-5 with the exception of some hand rolls. I only had about 4 hand rolls and a seaweed salad and I was very full. Seating is outdoors but they do have heat lamps to keep patrons comfortable. Seating is bar style so it can be a bit crammed but it shouldn't be an issue. read more
