Chili cheese dog with mustard and fries.
Charles J.

Very friendly employees, great food at a good price! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Mt Prospect! Holy crap that dog was delicious!

Dried up Hot Dog.

Pretty bummed out with my experience, was pretty excited to find this place open being that they're only open for lunch. Walked in young lady was very friendly, I was a little confused. I didn't know what to order, I ended up ordering a regular dog, mustard onion had a little deal with chips and a drink received my order immediately, and it was downhill from there. Dog tasted old very rubbery. The explanation I got was they threw it in a deep fryer to make it warm. I mean come on, how can you mess up a hotdog?

Jumbo Chicago Dog

Nice, clean little place with cheap prices and cool dog names. It's got a "hip" vibe going on and everyone was friendly enough. I got a Jumbo Chicago dog. It was good, with a nice char. All the elements seem to be there. Not quite sure what separates it from the best dogs but there's just a little something missing. I give it 3.75999 stars, rounded up to four.

Driving through my haunt, spotted Hubby's Dog House! Figured with a sense of humor, food should be good, turns out it was better. Since I'm watching my intake, decided on a Single Cheeseburger with no fries or soda. They had a laid back fun attitude. The walls of this spot were informative & entertaining. Since my order is made to order, took the right amount of time. Service was spot on! As mentioned earlier, Cheeseburger was delicious. Will stop by again to try other items on the menu. Cheers!

Chicago Dog & Specialty Dog

My kids and I love hot dogs and we're excited about this place when we heard about it and that's where the good part ends. The homemade strawberry lemonade was the biggest rip off. $6-7 for a small cup loaded with ice and barely any lemonade. Insulting. The Chicago style dog was ok, but the celery salt was on the pickle only. The overpriced specialty dog had a mix of eclectic ingredients that simply did not work together. Also, they make no effort to make the small interior dine-in friendly. They had some portable hot dog steamer sitting on the counter where someone might actually want to eat. My kids asked never to go there again. I agreed.

My honey and I stopped in for lunch today and smiled from our greeting, as we walked in. Service with a smile and amazing comfort food followed. The atmosphere is cute and very tidy! The menu is original and easy to read. We will be back!

Really disappointed after seeing all the great reviews. Granted most of them are about hot dogs (it is Hubby's DOG House). But, my husband stopped for lunch today and for $10 he got a burger about an inch tall. The patty was about 3 credit cards thick, the fries don't even fill the container and there was no drink. I know times are hard for small business owners and that's why we try to support them but, with prices that high and not enough food to warrant the cost, we have to give business elsewhere.

This place is a gem. Excellent Chicago style hot dog and the crinkle cut fries are terrific. I'll be back (before long, I hope).

The food is good, albeit pricey. Every so often i have a hankering for hubbys but cannot act on it since it is only open until 3pm.

This is the best depression dog you can find! Sure, Jimmy's, Nana's, and the venerable Gene and…read moreJude's are both outstanding as well, and they are basically interchangeable for a great dog, so go to the one that you like/are closest to. Here are the things that take RRH to the top of my list: 1. Convenient drive through service. You don't need to exit your vehicle to eat there. 2. They will char your dog on the flat top grill they use for the it grilled onions for the Maxwell St. polish. 3. 4 mini supreme tamales instead of one large tamale. Same amount by weight, a lot easier to eat while on the road! 4. And the thing that really sells it for me-the hand cut fries are cooked in BEEF TALLOW! The next two are either positives or negatives, depending on your POV. I've never used these options, but: 5. They accept credit cards, albeit for a 3% surcharge 6. Ketchup is available BY REQUEST ONLY! I have a feeling you will get shamed if you have the palate of an eight year old and ask for it on you dog, and there are squirt bottles available if you eat on sit and wish to dip your fries, although they are so good plain, "red mustard" as one social media presenter calls ketchup, is not needed.

I absolutely love going to Rand Red Hots. This place is a classic 50's style Chicago restaurant. I…read morealways order a chardog with the fries on the side. A chocolate cone as a treat, and sometimes a shake. They are always super nice and fast! The food is fresh and made to order. There's lots of seating inside and outside. And, it's always sparkling clean! CharDog-This hotdog is absolutely perfect! I savor every last bite of it. It's a Vienna Beef hotdog. So, it's the real deal. It's not the traditional Chicago dog. So, don't expect that. This hotdog is juicy, smokey, and charred with a bold beef flavor. Loaded with mustard, sports peppers, relish, and onions. On a nice plush bun. I personally get it without onions. And, it's heavenly! Chocolate Cone-If you're in the mood for a creamy, dreamy, and delicious cone. Then, make sure to get this! The chocolate is nutty and bold. I love this tasty treat. It brings me so much joy! I every now and then will treat myself to this family sized cone. And, I happily finish every last lick of this. So, next time you see Rand Red Hots. Make sure to stop here! You won't regret it!
