When I finalized the quote, they easily accommodated my adjustments and scheduled the job. Just a week later, Team 2 arrived to tackle our land - 1/3 of an acre full of dense trees on a steep hillside--an incredibly large and very difficult job--and they did an absolutely fantastic job. The entire crew was professional, pleasant, hardworking, and very thorough. They took care of everything we had discussed, and when the work was finished, they went above and beyond with the cleanup, removing all the debris and leaves and even blowing off our driveway. By the time they left, everything looked fantastic. My husband and I were thrilled with how great it looked. Only small complaint is that communication with the office/scheduling etc had some minor hiccups across the process of getting someone out for a quote, work being done etc but everyone was very nice throughout so it was just a small annoyance not a big issue.

After talking directly via phone to the city tree inspector that was here I was told that the…read moreprimary reason for the denial of the permit was expiration due to lack of timely feedback from Evergreen regarding questions that were asked of them. I do not know the questions they were waiting on but I was told that if I want the sidewalk fixed I need to tear out the sidewalk first and THEN ask for a root inspection to see if the offending roots can be cut out and if not then a tree removal permit can be filed again. On a separate note: I would advise anyone thinking of planting a street tree in Portland to reconsider due to the long term expense of dealing with the inevitable sidewalk damage and upkeep. That $75 per tree at the time from Friends of Trees has cost me thousands so far and will cost thousands more in concrete repair and is never ending. Once you plant one you can't remove it without replacing it and starting the cycle again.

I reached out to Samsara as a new homeowner in the area back in July. I had 3 very large (one…read moregiant) Doug Firs on my property which bordered 2 of my neighbors, and they needed to be pruned. I gathered 4 different quotes, and theirs was right in the middle. I felt really comfortable talking with Ben- a senior arborist and climber-about the job. This was probably the main reason I went with Samsara. On the day of the job 5 young gentlemen reported for duty. They spent from 0900 to about 1600 to prune the trees, There were 2 climbers. After I inspected- I felt there was a little more that could be done to the largest of the 3 Firs. I asked for Ben to come out to assess the job. He said they did great on the upper limbs but saw my concern for the lowers and agreed to come back. I also had him look at a Blue Spruce on the street side of my property that I discovered had some sort of root rot (continuous water engagement) and a pretty severe lean and he agreed it could be a concern. I received a second quote for this work and it was more than reasonable. They scheduled me within 2 weeks- which was today- and I was amazed at the quick work they made of these two elements of the job. Ben was the climber/detailer for the big Fir, and two other gentlemen made quick work of the Spruce removal. Very, very minimal disruptions for my neighbors on the roadway! Also, I have to say that the estimates they provided for both jobs were very detailed and included lot photos and tree site identification- by far the most professional of all the quotes I received. I'm very happy with the work they have done and will continue to use them as the need arises whether for planned (or unplanned) tree maintenance and emergencies. 100% recommend!

The project being a tree removal, as well planting within a foot away (due to sprinklers only being able to reach so far). With that being said I had set a time and date with them to do the job. I ordered the tree for delivery the day prior, but once the day came for the job it was a no show. Concerned, I contacted NW Tree Work to see what was going on. Turns out they are short staff. I'm pretty reasonable so I go ahead and try to reschedule. This time, I'm told the job is more complex so a new date is set. Once the new date rolls around, again, no show. At this point I'm constantly contacting NW Tree Work to the point they are reading my messages but not replying. I have to call every single time to get a hold of someone, to which I'm told I will get a reply later in the day, and to which I don't. It takes me contacting each day to try and reschedule only to be told a date the project will get done by and for someone to not show up. Big waste of time. On top of that, when speaking to John he assured me the prior weekend he'd get the job done and not only that move the tree out of public view and water it so it's okay. Sadly, none of that ever happened or came into fruition, the trees flowers started dying off due to it not being properly taken care of which it would have been had it been planted as planned. Ultimately this lead to a lot of back and forth. Whether its short-staffed or health related issues, telling a customer a date you're going to get the job done and continuously bailing is not the right response to do. The kicker was John calling me later that day to tell me how to give more trust and understanding to professionals and how delays happen and it's all normal. How about building that trust with customers first by not bailing on them multiple times over and over again, then we can have that conversation. Aside from all the negatives, I can give them credit for at least reimbursing me on the tree (though they only would if they ended up taking it). I'm not typically one to leave reviews, but I think it's important for anybody else on this platform to be informed with what potential risks you have working with certain companies. Emotions aside, this is just my personal experience with the company and for that I would not recommend them moving forward.
