Business sold or taken over around June 2024 and given new name. I have been taking my dogs to the Waterbowl for over 10 years. The original owner sold the business, and then it was sold again and then a third and possibly a forth time. ALL of these owners have honored any previous purchased packages. The current owner will not honor previous purchases packages. She says they are different companies. This may be true, but it is certainly not in the spirit of goodwill. BEWARE of the new owner and look around for a more friendly dog day care. It is not the loss of the money which bother me, but the owner's attitude. Her complete disregard for my situation. Accommodating, caring, and compassionate!! I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the highest recognition! I recently moved to Geneva with my dog Charlie. Right before work, my air conditioner broke on the first hot day this summer. I didn't know where to go so my dog wouldn't suffer. I called a few places with my situation, but The Water Bowl was the only one who answered the call. Immediately they understood and didn't blink an eye about bringing him in so they could help. Having used daycares in the past, it's always been a process to register your pet. -- That didn't matter to them. They genuinely cared about an animal they hadn't even met yet. Needless to say, even having air conditioning again, Charlie still goes to daycare on a regular basis. The care, attention, and love they give him always shines through when I pick him up. I would give The Water Bowl zero stars if I could. The place is dirty and they have no outdoor area for the dogs to play or run. All of the dogs are taken to go potty in the same very small gated area across the parking lot. Yuck! The owner and staff are not friendly. My friend had a bad experience as well. She arrived early for pick up and found that they had put a bark collar on her elderly dog without her consent. I will not be bringing my dogs there. We sent our dog to The Water Bowl to burn some energy. To our surprise, when we got home we noticed that he had a no-barking collar on. When I brought it back to the store they said he was barking when playing and he needed to be quiet. WHAT??? How can they punish my dog without my permission! I asked to speak to the owner and left my number but they never called. I am appalled that a doggie daycare establishment would want to keep the dogs quiet. What if a dog is barking because he wants water or has to go potty. Will definitely not be sending my dog here again. Hopefully this experience didn't also scar him. read more

First time and LAST to ever bring my dogs to The Water Bowl. My dogs eye was puncture and the owner stated it wasn't! I have $300 of vet bills to prove I took my dog to the vet the very day I picked her up! I even asked to speak to the owner Kathy, but instead she text and said sue me instead. ...won't talk in person. The place is dark, with asbestos type material covering the ceilings...it's in a basement with no windows! Horrible place that smells so bad! I found the Water Bowl on the web. Their site is comprehensive. I faxed them Karma's shot records and they informed me I needed stool sample results as well. After we finally had all of Karma's information i took her to the facility. She was nervous, as she usually is in new situations. I tried to pay but the owner said the first one was going to be a free evaluation. I came back a few hours later and Karma was happy to see me, as usual. My dog just got back after being groomed here. I have never seen a more botched dog. He immediately came inside with his tail down in shame. He is cut to skin in some places while others haven't even been cut. There were specific instructions given to them before he was cut to not trim a few places and they were cut anyhow. His dangerously long nails which we had mentioned to clip, were left untouched. After calling the employee seemed uninterested and as if they had done nothing wrong. If you want your dog to look like they have been run over with a lawn mower this is the place to go. read more

We have boarded our dog at The Water Bowl multiple times as well as taken him to daycare there. It is a very clean and well kept place with a very friendly staff who you can tell really love the dogs. The rates are very reasonable, and he LOVES going there. As soon as we walk in the door his tail starts wagging like crazy. Always dogs to play with and a park next door for a long walk. He too comes home sooooo tired as he has so much fun!!! read more

Our vet recommended The Water Bowl as a good place to socialize our then-puppy, Ella. I started taking her for an hour or two hours at a time, and she would shake uncontrollably, leaving me with horrible guilt! The Water Bowl staff knew just how to handle the situation, however, and would distract her with lots of cuddles and kind words while I snuck out the door. On one occasion, they even removed Ella from the "puppy room" and brought her behind the counter so she could de-stress. The staff at The Water Bowl didn't seem too concerned, so I kept bringing her, and I am glad I did., because not long thereafter, everything changed. I suddenly found that Ella loved daycare, and would race to get in the door without any concern for me whatsoever. She was eager to get in and play with her friends (and even more eager to see the staff, for Ella still very much prefers human companions to dogs). More importantly, Ella gained confidence, and she became more comfortable leaving my side at home as well. I think the magnet that The Water Bowl sent me, with a picture of Ella playing, was what really won me over. I always appreciate personal touches like that, and I was very grateful. I feel very confident leaving her there for the day, and I know she enjoys herself. My only wish would be for more of an update when I ask "how was she?" But then, I am a helicopter parent. Overall, I recommend The Water Bowl for group daycare, and my dog does too! read more

I cannot recommend The Water Bowl enough. I was very nervous about boarding our Welsh Corgi puppy Rhys when we went to San Diego for our honeymoon. I did my due diligence and read reviews for places all over the tri-city area and decided on The Water Bowl and am I glad I did. They were very thorough and explained everything I needed to provide before I dropped him off for boarding. They followed my (anal retentive) instructions to a T, and they even sent me a picture via text message of Rhys having the time of his life (I cried from relief, this was such a nice touch and completely put my mind at ease so I could enjoy the rest of my trip without tearing my hair out from worry). We will definitely be using TWB again for all of our future boarding needs. The staff was excellent and Rhys had an absolute blast. The prices were also very reasonable ($200 for a 5 night stay)! read more

Our fur kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats, had to be boarded for a month while we had to stay in a hotel while our new home in Geneva was being completed. Having just moved here from California we had no recommended boarding location. After talking with the Water Bowl staff over the phone I decided to go with them. They had a park right next door so I could pick up my dogs and walk them for visits. My animals were so happy and well taken care of. In fact I was a little sad because on one visit my dogs ran right back to the staff and just left me there like by mom. My little baby jumped right into their arms, happy and content. Just what a mom always wants for her kids. I am bringing them back over Christmas vacation while we go home for the holidays. I am sure they will enjoy visiting their friends. read more

I have been bringing my dog, Rocco, here for a couple years now. He has been for daycare and boarding numerous times. He loves it!! He's always so excited when we pull into the parking lot. The staff is very knowledgable and knew Rocco by name after the first visit. I do not recommend going here if your dogs need medication. I left detailed, typed instructions for them on giving my senior rescue medicine for her allergies. When I picked her up 4 days later, she was scratching and had red, painful ears. I asked to see their records which showed they gave the meds 2/4 days, though I don't believe she got them the last day. I had to take her to the vet. I stopped in to talk to Kathy, the owner; she wasn't there. My husband and I called for 3 days and were told she was out but would be back. We left messages for her to call, and she never did. I will never board my dogs there again. Mistakes happen, but the lack of response on Kathy's part tells me she only cares about the money-- shameful. read more

I would not recommend. Have terrible customer service only one person I like there that likes my dog. Everyone else treats him like he's a bad boy, which he is not; he's just high energy. I was told he was the best during his evaluation got along with all the dogs. Then a few weeks later was told he needed to be kept in a separate room n that's where they've been putting him. I let it slide because I work long hours but was promised he will always have at least one dog to play with. No one bothered to tell me anything right away. Recently I was made aware that for weeks now he's been locked in a room by himself. I'd like to know what I'm paying for because he can sit in my house by himself for free. I was told he's too crazy and doesn't get along with other dogs. Which is not true because he gets along with every dog at the dog park big,medium,small;aggressive ,laid back ; young or old. He has the best temperament when other dogs get nippy he knows to back off and try again later. He is a puppy and needs a lot of attention. We're working on training him but it's been hard when not all his caretakers follow the same rules and way of handling him. Definitely will not be bringing him back ever! Which is sad because he use to love going there. No other daycare wants him because he's a Pitbull. read more

I was breaking out in a cold sweat imagining our Bulldog Wally crossing his legs for hours, or worse - crying because he was lonely, pacing the floor wondering when I was coming home, and finally scrawling a crude note before he took his life. OK maybe I'm dramatic, but I'm also a totally neurotic dog mom. You see, Wally is usually never alone for more than a few hours, but when work schedules got crossed, and his usual dog sitters were tied up, we were in a pickle - until I came across The Water Bowl online. The facility was close to a park for outside walks, there were common areas for the dogs to play, the were private areas sectioned off by picket fences inside- so cute! And there were crates if your dog preferred to nap in one instead. There is constant adult supervision, they even have TVs on for some background noise. There is also a trainer, and groomer on staff for convenience - and boarding is available as well. I dropped Wally off at The Water Bowl in the morning, and registration was quick, just a little info and proof of current shots and a clean poop sample, and he was in. It's $26/day, and there are specials if you buy packages. Everyone was friendly, and Wally was playing with his new friends before I had a chance to say 'goodbye' clearly he's not as attached as I am! I went to work feeling a little worried about how he was doing, so I called at lunch. Pam gave me a run down of his morning, assured me he was having fun, and was about to go to lunch. My husband picked Wally up after being at doggy daycare for about 9 hours, and Wally couldn't keep his eyes open. He ate dinner and passed out for the rest of the night. He went back the next day, and couldn't wait to see his friends again. We are so happy to have found care for Wally that we trust, is quick and convenient, and that is affordable. The only thing that could be improved with The Water Bowl is the website, I would have liked to know what was needed prior to bringing my dog - when I called the girl working told me just bring Wally in with food - it turns out I needed vet records, but it all worked out in the end. I highly recommend the Water Bowl to keep your dog happy, well looked after, and your house free of accidents : ) read more

We take our 110 lbs. black lab, Jackson, to the Water Bowl doggy day care once every month as a treat and get him a bath with the works. He absolutely loves it! When we pull into the lot, he immediately starts freaking out because he is so excited! The staff is always super friendly and they generally know both of our names. When we pick Jackson up, he is exhausted and most of the time falls asleep in the car on the 5 minute drive home! He eats his dinner and then sleeps until the next day...and is still even tired the following day! We also LOVE the grooming services - they do a great job trimming his nails too! Also, if we opt not to do a grooming service, and just do the daycare, they still brush him and spritz him with a deodorizer which smells awesome...just a very nice touch! There is only one thing I wish they did - gave daycare report cards or something that would let us know how he did...if he made friends, played all day, what his favorite toy was, things like that. read more

We have boarded our large dog there a few times with excellent results. He also attends day care 1-2 times per week and loves it. We love taking him there because he has so much fun and is exhausted when he comes home. Our dog loves it so much he starts whining and trying to climb over the back seats when we turn on to Stevens. we are so lucky to have a responsible, reasonable and fun place for our dog to go while I work long days. read more

I have an elderly blind dog that can be very nervous because of her handicap. She gets special food and medication and needs some extra TLC. She always leaves the Water Bowl (whether after a few days boarding or just daycare) happy and in good spirits. They do a great job w/ her and their groomer is also wonderful. We've tried a few different places but they do such a great job that we've looked no further. The majority of the staff is quite young but they are all wonderful w/ the animals. I called The Water Bowl to make a reservation for daycare 2 weeks before I was leaving town. I had not been there, or anywhere, before, and was told to 'bring in all of my paperwork' when I dropped my dog off. I decided to drop off the vaccination records a day early to save time. Upon my arrival, I was not greeted at all, and when I explained what I was there for, the person at the desk looked at my records, and asked where the kennel cough vaccination records were. As a new dog owner, and a first time user of a kennel, or daycare, I was not aware of the need for the vaccination. The woman at the desk was not apologetic for not informing of the need for the vaccination, and was totally unaccomodating to the point of being rude. Needless to say, this lack of attention to detail threw quite a wrench in my vacation plans. The staff was unfriendly and uninformed. I was never offered a tour of the facility, or any information on services. I sent an email inquiry before booking my stay, that went unanswered. I chose the location based on a Sudden Values purchase for half off daycare or boarding. Shame on me for thinking a deal is a deal. Based solely on the staffs treatment of me, I sure wouldn't want them looking after my pup. I have no idea how they are with dogs, but they have zero people skills, and their lack of attention to new customers ( which I would think would be incredible, if they want new customers) caused my family a great deal of stress. Based on my very short interaction with the staff, It was clear to me, that customers are not a priority, are the dogs? Perhaps I should have asked more questions, but as a first time user, I didn't know what questions to ask. Being in the service industry myself, I take on the responsibility of offering clients information that I think they might need as a new client. Silly me for expecting the same of other business owners... I don't agree that 'the customer Is always right', but the customer does deserve some respect. read more

I just stopped by there after reviewing their website. It seemed good on paper. We have a new rescue dog and was looking for a place to bring her. When I go to the counter I was asked who I was here to see. I responded that I wanted to talk to someone about their facility and offerings. The girl looked at me and said the managers are not in. We've been taking our dog, Winnie, to Water Bowl for past few times we needed to board her and are very happy with their service! We like that similar sized dogs get to socialize during the day and only at feeding time and at nights do the dogs go into kennels. The staff is friendly and the facility is nice and clean.
