Wanted a good waffle and omelette so my wife and I went here for dinner. There were no other patrons in the cafe but that could have been due to it being evening and the name suggests breakfast food, perhaps? We ordered the pecan waffle and an omelette with some veggies inside since we are vegetarian. I also wanted to re-experience fried okra which they offered as a side dish. Service was prompt and the waitress was friendly and nice. The pecan waffles were fairly dense and about 1/2" thick. They tasted ok but were not light or fluffy. I would not recommend them. The omelette was fluffy like it had been whipped, kind of strange IMHO. It tasted fine but nothing I would re-order. The best thing I ordered was the fried okra. Absolutely horrible experience! There was zero COVID-19 social distancing or any other policies in place for that matter! It was very crowded, some of the staff had on no masks, and on top of this, every single food item for our party was either overcooked, lukewarm, or both. Really Good !! Yes it's a chain but service here better than some of these independent restaurants in Helen. We actually went twice ...a dinner and next morning for breakfast. Hard to find a decent breakfast around so we chose Team Huddle. We will definitely go back next trip ....even the cook came by after our dinner to see how everything was...great job !! read more

Pleasantly surprised! We waited for a table as every other table is closed off for distancing. It was worth the wait. First off our waitress was so nice and warm. Made our experience so wonderful! It's like a diner and the breakfast was good! We had omelet, waffles, chilli, eggs and biscuit and gravy. Everyone finished everything. Cooked to order- fresh and good. Been reading all the negative reviews and found myself wondering if there is a parallel universe in Helen. I've ate at the Huddle House many times and have never been dissappointed in the food or service. I've worked for the public for more years that I want to admit and I know for a fact perfect work or service will always draw a negative review from some people. I've never found this place to be dirty. A few people dumping food on the floor, so I figured that's how they live at home, but that isn't the responsibility of the workers or Huddle House, and it's cleaned up as quickly as possible. I feel like this is one of those "what you see is what you get" kind of places. It's nothing too exciting on the outside & on the inside it's a very standard, typical little diner. We stopped in here for breakfast one day while exploring downtown Helen and our experience wasn't amazing but wasn't awful either. I ordered orange juice and what I received was definitely not orange juice. It tasted (and looked like) water with a splash of orange juice concentrate. It wasn't drinkable so I asked to swap it out for a lemonade instead. The lemonade was also not great but it was drinkable, LOL! I ordered pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream to eat. The strawberries were the sweet, syrupy kind and the pancakes were covered in whipped cream. It wasn't bad, just verrrrrry sweet and very filling so I didn't eat very much of it. My girlfriend got an omelet. She said it was okay, again nothing spectacular but edible. The price was great, one of the cheapest meals we had during our whole vacation. I'd recommend going elsewhere for a good breakfast but this place isn't bad, it's just not very good either. read more

This is one of the best resteraunts we've ever been to. The food was fresh cooked and did not take long. During the summer they have outside seating, and have air conditioning. The staff are wonderful, and the kids adored it. There is lots of room, parking space, and the building is conveniently located right when you get in to Helen. The restrooms are nice and the food is amazing. (If you are going, get the chef salad.) I love the food, building, and service. I will never forget how good huddle house tasted. read more

By far the BEST location for this franchise. Staff is amazing, food even better and the owner is a great guy. And the place is open 24 hours. Can't beat this diner for miles! I eat breakfast here all the time. Recommended: MVP is a steal, Country Fried Steak, all the Stuffed Hashbrowns and biscuit meals, as well as the fried oreo. That thing is devilishly good. read more

where do I start ... took 30 minutes for them to take our order, we waited an hour just find out they lost our order. Then they hurried to make our order but took so long to get to us it was cold. The eggs were way undercooked. My inlet was cooked under a lid so it was essentially steamed- yuck. I had to find the waitress for everything. I've been here a few times now and consistently good food, clean restaurant and great service! Very accommodating to making things just the way you like. Open 24 hours is a huge plus! When you want American cuisine go here! When you have some want breakfast, some want dinner and some want appetizers - go here! Boy, this place has gone downhill. A year ago we used to drive from Gainesville to eat here because the food and service was so good. Now? Not so much. Last several times we have been they seemed to be out of nearly EVERYTHING. Apparently the truck is always coming 'tomorrow', no matter when you go. And in the several months this has been happening, no one has realized they always run out of things and they might actually, oh, I don't know, order more to meet demand?? We went there yesterday, Sunday, June 12, 2016, for the last time. Went right at lunchtime and it was so packed there were no tables, so we left and drove to Western Sizzlin and had a killer 5-star meal at their buffet. Came back to Huddle House for dinner. Big mistake! Started out with one of the waitresses having to tell one of the cooks to get the heck off his phone and do his job. Seriously, he was leaning on the counter chatting to his girlfriend on the phone instead of cooking while people were waiting for food. Our food actually arrived fairly quickly. UNFORTUNATELY. Husband's hamburger steak tasted like mystery meat. Strawberries on my waffle tasted off. Bacon tasted like plastic. Only good things were the drinks (sweet tea and strawberry lemonade) and the tater tots. Waitress (Alison) spent over 10 minutes walking around with our debit card in her hand while talking on the phone and carrying around pen and paper, and now we are watching the bank account like a hawk. Just weird she kept it for so long just to swipe it for our order. And the worst thing was the table who came in before us (a man, woman, and child) we staring at us after we got our food. We didn't realize why at first, but then the waitress brought food to their table and they said, "This isn't what we ordered." It was another table's order. So the waitress took the food to the other table, who came in after us. The table before us asked where there food was and the cook wasn't even cooking anything. He had completely missed their ticket! They walked out after offering to pay for their drinks. The waitress apologized half-heartedly and told them not to worry about it, but after they left both waitress and both cooks were laughing about it for several minutes. It made my husband and me sick. We both have upset stomachs today, too, and we don't know if it was this place or Western Sizzlin, but considering how fresh everything was at WS we are guessing it was Huddle House. They were pretty busy on a Monday morning, but we saw a couple standing awkwardly at the front until they decided to just take a seat at an empty table. We had a party of three. Stopped by for lunch on our way for a hike. Our group of 5 was a bit hungover, and squeezed into a booth meant for 4. After ordering, we asked the waitress if they had a chair, there was no way we could comfortably eat. She was nice & found a chair. When the food came out, the toasted melt sandwiches were burnt, my eggs were cooked over too high of heat and were rubbery. Michelle had French toast with her breakfast & it was blackened too. Well on this rainy day we walked up to the Huddle House and there was a line we waited for around 15min to be seated and their turn was totally amazing, the team work and unification effort that took place during this rush period was totally unbelievable - I work in a major corporation and this was amazing - FOOD totally fresh hot and delicious PRICES tell me where do you get a breakfast for 3.99 egg, hash browns, toast and another side ..... quick, fast, clean and seamless so next time when in Helen, GA.... for the money the experience is the best and you do get a full fresh breakfast kudos Huddle House read more

Last year for Oktoberfest we stopped in here for a bite to eat just as a younger gentleman came in and sat at the counter. He ordered chili and his waitress put it in the microwave, we ordered waffles, the microwave beeped that his chili was done and we got our waffles but nobody ever checked on his food for quite a while. After patiently waiting for what should have been a quick "heat up" I heard him politely say to a waitress "excuse me, I think the microwave bell went off for my chili" and she yelled over at him "you can come back here and cook your food yourself if you think you can do a better job than us" and then she got his microwaved chili for him all while complaining to him and the other waitresses who joined in bitching about how they are so sick of dealing with customers. I was starving and no other restaurants were open but I was so upset at the raised voices from the waitresses, their rude behavior and belittling of this other customer that I literally got up, paid for my food, encouraged him to do the same and left without eating it. I work in the industry and have NEVER seen someone be so rude to a customer. I notified the restaurant and they were not concerned at all, so this is not an establishment to support when we go to Helen! read more

First time in a huddle house here and I was not disappointed, Angela my server was personable and polite and settled us right in.
