Haven't been to this place in a while and was in the mood for a falafel. Menu was pretty much the same as I remember it 4 years ago. This time I ordered a side dish of shawarma on Hummus plate to go. I was asked Chicken or Beef Shawarma? I thought Shawarma had Lamb! But anyway I get the chicken which was very dried out even with the spices and olive oil. But what ruined the meal was the pre wrapped pita bread in aluminum foil, at any middle eastern restaurant I've been to the pita was fresh and warm like bread out of the oven, these pitas were like day old stale hard pita that were unedible. I'm not sure if they were having an off day or the staff is burned out and stretching the supplies out as it's the beginning of the end of their run! read more

Ordered the lamb gyro with fries. Very happy with my meal. Generous portion of lamb. I will be returning tomorrow for my Greek food fix. I went back the following day and ordered the Mediterranean burger with fries and fattoush salad. Everything was really good. The fattoush salad is the Greek version of a cumbersome and tomato salad. This place is okay to eat but its inconsistent with the "rules" of how they have their sales. The woman that is usually there is kinda rude and mean to the help which doesn't make the place too inviting. The containers keep changing and it makes to food soggier then it should be. They wont split orders on special days in separate containers with out giving you an attitude. Idk if ill be going back and we constantly order from them... its sad. Good service and large portions. Falafel and hummus were tasty. Ordered the beef shawarma platter...the beef wasn't shawarma just thin pieces of steak. It would have been ok except it had no flavor, which is unusual for middle eastern cuisine. The rice was also lacking in flavor and had a somewhat soggy/soft consistency. I wouldn't order that again. Amazing! Awesome hidden gem! We are from out of town and we're looking for something different to eat besides a typical chain. We decided to try this place, and we are so glad we did!! The outside building is a little off putting but inside is gorgeous. We ordered the beef shawarma and it was delicious! Lean meat, no fat or grizzle, tons of flavors! Food is absolutely amazing. Normally I have a lot to say about lost places we've been to. But with this one, short and sweet will work just fine for this review. Tucked away in a mini plaza behind Marist college in Poughkeepsie, is a small relatively new Mediterranean restaurant. Not many others in the area surprisingly. My wife and I happened to stumble across this while searching for food one day while in the area visiting family. We weren't disappointed. Food was good, fresh full of flavor and you actually got a lot for the price too. I've always been a lover of falafels and this one didn't disappoint. Large sized portion that were very soft and tender. Interior is actually really nice and has very prominent accents of Greek and Turkish influences. On this last trip there we only picked up take out. Would consider coming back to sample the dinner options and possibly dine in. We ordered the beef shawarma . While it was a substantial portion, the meat was very tough and gristly. We could not chew a lot of the pieces. I've had beef shawarma many times at other places in my life. This was disappointing. My Doberman liked it. We also ordered what was described as a "savory za'atar pie" . Was passing by the town and couldn't be more lucky to have stumbled upon this place! We did take out and ordered a falafel sandwich, a beef shawarma, and a salad. Everything was so fresh and it tasted delicious! They were also very generous with the quantity of food. There were only two people working, filling mostly take out orders (likely due to covid) but they were very friendly and they prepared everything at a reasonable time, all of which are always a plus. What a hidden gem! We LOVED our meal here! We have had Mediterranean food from Portland OR to Brooklyn NY but FALAFEL TOWN has the best falafel EVER! You must try the feta fries as well, so yummy! I'll never forget how excited I was when I was I discovered Falafel Town. It had so difficult to find a GREAT gyro in Poughkeepsie. My first visit there kept me going back. Super friendly staff that make you feel right at home and great dishes. My favorite then was the gyro, but now I've branched out and I love just about everything on their menu. I've been in Poughkeepsie for a little over 2 months and have tried several eateries, including that other Greek Spot that's popular... and I must say that this one is the best. I'll even say it's the best food I've had in town thus far. My wife and I are comming from Cali Bay Area where the cuisine is arguably the best in the World, but the service, freshness and flavor these kids are serving up here is superb! We were visiting the area, and friends thought that since we liked Mediterranean food and to eat healthily, we might like this little place. They were wrong; we loved it. It's not conspicuously located, but it's well worth looking for. The tabbouleh is far beyond any version I'd ever tasted, and same with the baba ghanouj. I ordered the veggie sampler entree, and highly recommend it. Their food is so fresh and well seasoned I'm sure just about everything on their menu is worth recommending, but since we don't live in the area (yet), I won't get to find that out (yet). Also, the people who work there are very nice. Despite the fact that only three tables were occupied, the server was extremely active and friendly. The babaganouj was too salty, the falafel, way to too dry and lacked flavor and the chicken was over cooked and tough. The rice was good but did not offset all the other shortcomings. This is a falafel restaurant, but the falafel was thumbs down. The pita dough was overly thick and chewy, and seemed underbaked. The falafels were okay, not great. There was very little lettuce and tomato, and minimal tahina, making for a dry falafel. I left most of the bread, and only ate the 3 falafels. If you crave falafel find another restaurant. read more

We ordered the lamb skewers that came with salad, dolmas, hummus, rice and 2 falafels. The lamb was delicious and seasoned well. The hummus needed more tahini but it was good. The falafels were very good. They were fried but the inside was soft and flavorful. The tzatziki was full of flavor. The fries were hot and crispy.
