Couldn't wait to get home to rave about this place. Not far from my job, & i no someone who has been and said the food was good. What an understatement, the food was great. The atmosphere is super chill, everyone in there is just relaxed & our bartender was so nice. It took him awhile to get to all his tables but I'm not going to complain. He made me a drink called I think the Sultry Sultan, vodka pomegranate grapefruit juice, right up my alley. For our entrees my friend got the falafel plate with 2 sides, taboulleh & hummus is what she choose, and I got the Chicken Shawarma with hummus & butter rice..excellent!!!!!! As if that wasn't enough, we got some chocolate coffee tart shelled something, don't no the name but when I tell u it's the kind of thing that once our taste buds got a hold of it, we had to close our eyes and savor every damn bite. Today, I stopped by to enjoy a nice Saturday Brunch at Masa Midtown. First off, the restaurant only has street parking, so it's good to keep that in mind. Inside, it is roomy with a good amount of seats and tables, as well as a bar section. The establishment gives off an authentic Mediterranean style ambiance with its ornate and wooden decor. Ambiance rate 9/10. My boyfriend and I ordered... 1. Sujouk Melt: This dish is basically an everything bagel with melted cheese, sausage, tomatoes, and onions on top of it. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the base was a bagel and since I am not a huge fan of bagels, I wasn't fond of it. However, it's perfect for bagel lovers. Despite this, it had good flavor, especially the sausage. Rate 7/10. 2. Moroccan Chicken Borek: This had a very unique taste being a combination of sweet and savory. There were raisins in it which contributed to its sweetness, and the chicken's yummy flavor contributed to its savoriness. Together, it made for a delicious dish. Rate 8.5/10. 3. Turkish Eggs (CILBIR): This entrée was good and the sauces they used for it was amazing. However, the content itself (eggs, spinach, chickpeas) was average. Rate 8/10. 4. Herby Home Fries: This side was mediocre, nothing special. It had a nice crispy coating though. Sadly, it was a small portion and wasn't worth $6. Rate 5/10. The prices for these dishes are a little high considering they are relatively small portions. However, all the dishes were excellent, and therefore, make up for their prices. To add on, the staff were very friendly, and the wait time for the food wasn't long at all. Service/staff rate 8/10. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic, fresh Mediterranean food in the Kingston area. read more

Masa has incredible hospitality. The kind lady at the counter made sure my food was fresh and warm. I think the food i tried here for the first time was unique and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised since I often wonder if I could've just cooked at home instead. I didn't have this thought at all here! The ambiance and the kindness of the owner and the flavor is super worth it, especially for the baked goods. I like how you can get a cafe experience as well as a nice sit-down meal depending on what you're in the mood for. read more

We were so excited to try this restaurant today, so we made a 12:30 reservation. When we got there, nobody greeted us, so eventually we went to the coffee area. Someone there told us that the head chef wasn't there today. We were seated but told they were short on menus. We looked on our phones and then the three of us ordered. It took 25 minutes for my wife's seltzer to be brought over. Waters never refilled. Nobody checked on us. It took 56 minutes for the simit and whipped feta to be brought over. 1 hour and 6 minutes for my daughter's pancakes. 1 hour and 12 minutes for the Turkish eggs. At 1 hour and 15 minutes somebody came over and said "did anyone tell you we're out of the salmon?" (What my wife ordered when we first got there). No. Nobody told us that. So then she had to order something else. At this point people started coming over and apologizing, but at no point did that turn into an offer of complimentary bread, an offer to take something off the bill, or anything else. The food was absolutely delicious, but the service and lack of communication was atrocious. I understand sometimes a restaurant can be understaffed and out of rhythm, but there is no excuse for the embarrassing lack of customer service we were shown. read more

One rainy gloomy afternoon our friends suggested we all go up to Masa in Kingston. It's a Turkish restaurant and I have to say the meal, the location, the ambiance, the drinks, appetizer, service and dessert were outstanding. All of us raved and here's the list of what we had: Swinging Sultan cocktail, for appetizer we had a mix of whipped feta, roasted beets, sauted arugula and nuts along with bread for dipping. Main meal we had "Kofte Pita" which was a meatball in pita and a tahini sauce (I am sure I am missing some other ingredients); Chicken Shawarma, and "Kavides Guvec" which was shrimp baked in a clay type container. For Dessert we had an eclair, lemon tart and a sort of russian cream with mandarin organges on top. I HIGHLY recommend. read more

I only had time for take out, I can't justify commenting on either service or ambiance. I opted for the Sujouk Simit Melt, some chocolate cardamom cream puffs and a Turkish coffee cheesecake to share. Sesame crusted simit (circular bread, often called a Turkish bagel in the US) is laden with cheese and sujouk (dry, spicy, fermented sausage usually made from ground beef or lamb). The open faced sandwich is then put in the oven to melt the cheese, It is served with a side salad. Both desserts were subtly spiced with either cardamom (cream puffs) or coffee (cheesecake). The cheesecake does come with a few roasted coffee beans layered to the side of the dessert for a hit of flavor. I'd definitely go back to sample more items. read more

My new favorite Kingston spot. Honestly, it's also my first as I've loved some Kingston spots, but nothing like this. The really wonderful thing about Masa is that it isn't merely "Mediterranean", but authentically Turkish. In other words, instead of the same generic hummus and tabbouleh that everyone has, you get distinctively-prepared versions of the classics, alongside some very specific Turkish preparations, spices and presentation. We ordered the Meze platter and falafel bites with Raki. I realize that most Mediterranean places with a bar may have Raki, but served in proper glasses over ice with a pitcher of ice-water on the side is absolutely heavenly, especially with meze. I mean, I was eating the freaking garnish. Another thing of note is the little Turkish market by the checkout. It's a limited selection, but well curated. For instance, they have Turkish Delight, which is almost universally a foul, cloying imitation of the real thing. Their's is spectacular and made me forget every other version I've ever had. The prices are also great and avoid the trap of overtly bougie "import items" you often see in this area. I don't think I paid more than $5 for any of the 5 items we purchased on our way out. There is also a really lovely bakery section featuring all sorts of sweets including lovely-looking simit (we didn't order any, but they looked fantastic). Oh, and the owner/chef brought us our meal, so we got to meet her. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food! read more

Marvelous. Best hummus ever, and I don't even like hummus. A long roadtrip on a gray day, and we wander into this place. A bird-like older woman sat in the corner picking at the remains of her lunch. Our outlook changed with a sip of Turkish coffee. I can't speak for the dinner, but the mezze, meat pastries, and chicken schwarma were bomb. read more

A wonderful surprise for us, coming into Kingston for the first time. A welcoming and delicious spacious Turkish restaurant that is affordable and special. We recommend the chef prepared flatbreads... mine was roasted butternut squash with nuts, feta and arugula. So many more things to try and all desserts baked on oremises. read more

We were there tonight for a fabulous meal. The service could've been improved. We sat at the table for a good 10 minutes before anyone brought us menus but the food we're going back for it again so fresh and delicious and unique, but simple at the same time, nothing to be intimidated by we shared the appetizer platter that was just fantastic. We didn't lift the plate but we could've gotten close. But like I said, the service could be improved nobody offered us a second drink no dessert offered. I've been here three times, which is hard because the business hours are few. Every single thing I have ordered has been delicious. Super friendly service. All the pastries, the hummus, baba, everything has just that one extra ingredient to take it over the top like pomegranate seeds or fresh mint. One thing was described as an ultra thin crust pizza and it was like a few phyllo thick and so good. It's a great place to order many things with several people. One time I went they were offering the centerpiece plants and I still have a lovely tradescantia pallida succulent growing. It's cozy with lots of light, teracotta tile and dark beamed vaulted ceilings. The building seems to have some history, not too dolled up, which is nice. read more

Food is excellent. However, going to pick up my order, I watched the maskless owner (?!) cough into her hand and immediately grab my bag of food and hand it to me. When confronted about it, she laughed. Even if we were not IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC, this behavior is just gross. WOW - just got delivery from Masa for the first time. Ordered hummus, a salad topped with feta, and a Turkish soda. The hummus was so flavorful and carefully decorated with roasted chickpeas. All was delicious and I will absolutely be ordering from Masa again. read more

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant. Pretty decor, very nice servers. We tried several appetizers and particularly enjoyed our zucchini and eggplant dishes and lots of enticing unusual dessert choices. We hope to return again soon. read more

Five stars for authenticity and a refreshing change from Hudson valley cuisine (not that I don't love it.) Nice to see a family run business - owners making direct contact with customers. Went on a busy Saturday night and I felt for the chaotic hit of dinner orders all at once but they kept their cool and we did get our food in a reasonable amount of time. We had the spinach and feta pidde, chicken shawarma and lamb tacos (friend said it would be nice if lamb in taco was served hot) along with a tasty Turkish bread. We had Turkish Red Wine with a most generous pour and it was delicious. Also had Turkish coffee and rhubarb panna cotta which was creamy and rich. Really incredible food! Not easy opening a spot during a pandemic but they are churning out some really nice Turkish food. Loved my simit with whipped feta and spinach pie. I just wish their presence was a little louder - they are very difficult to spot on Broadway without a sign and I worry that no one knows they're open. So many people upstate want food like this but don't know about them! Hoping they ramp it up a bit so we can enjoy their food for years to come. read more

We've eaten here many times and the food is always wonderful. We had them cater an outdoor party a few weeks ago and our guests could not stop talking about how delicious and special the food was. We ordered take out for COVID Christmas Eve dinner. It was fresh and delicious. Highlight recommend ordering from Masa. Im vegetarian, my husband is not. There is plenty to eat for both of us. We ordered Karades, Falafel Platter, Harvest vegetable Muska Borek, Savory Herb Pancake, and Red Lentil Soup. Ordering online was easy. We ordered the night before for pick up the next day (christmas eve). Can't wait for Covid to be over so we eat inside. read more
