I recently ordered takeout from here online and my order was ready when I got there. I ordered the regular ten piece tender bite meal. It came with crinkle fries, your choice of dipping sauce (I ordered ranch), and a slice of Texas toast. The order was promptly ready when I went inside the restaurant to pick up. Food was packed in a black styrofoam container and placed in a plastic bag. The chicken bites were soft and tender and I enjoyed them. The crinkle fries were just so-so. I wish I would've opted for the cole slaw instead. Texas toast was good. It's a pretty good value for the food you get. I just wish there were a little more dipping sauce. When informing the gal at the counter that the toilet paper in the men's room is jammed and nearly impossible to get out, she smiled and said it's been that way for a long time and laughed before returning to the chit chat with the other employees. What if the next guy isn't able to get any paper to clean himself? Does he break the dispenser? Does he waddle to the far side of the room to get the paper towels that are resting on top of their dispenser? Or does he just call 911 and request help? At a minimum the gal needed to inform a supervisor and have one of the guys put out a loose roll until the dispenser gets fixed. Laughing and dismissing a customer is just rude. read more

We had another excellent visit to Huey Magoo's today and I wanted to give a shout out to Taylor that helped me order at the front counter. I couldn't see the menu board or card reader machine due to my eyes being dilated for an eye appointment. Taylor patiently helped me every step of the way from reading the menu to helping me pay. She was so pleasant and happy to assist me. I never felt rushed. Taylor even came over to our table towards the end of our meal to help clear our plates and asked again if there was anything else she could give me a hand with. The food was delicious as always!! Had the most awkward experience the other day. Some man was following one of the girls around berating her in front of the whole restaurant. He appeared to be a manager. Who does that?! It was awful. She looked like she was about to cry. The food is okay at best. Personally, I'd rather go to at least 6 other chicken places. After that experience, I don't see myself going back. The atmosphere was fancy fast food. The service was great. All the staff were very outgoing. We were greated by all the staff we saw. Kicks Cane's in the "jiblets!" Huey's strips are longer, thicker & have more flavor. & THEY HAVE DELICIOUS GRILLED CHICKEN STRIPS!! Lightly charred & juicy all the way through featuring a light creole spice. Same for their fries which hold their temperature longer than Canes. They also make their tasty kettle chips in house from scratch. I'd normally skip something like that but not at Huey's! Their coleslaw has a sweet (rosemary?) seasoning & the Carolina mustard is on par with City BBQ. The staff here, LJ, Emma, Sarah, et all made me a regular while on vacation. The price is fairly reasonable as well. They cycle out their seasonal lemonades: the apple cider version was excellent. Love this place! read more

Service was great, everyone was friendly and we got our food pretty fast! Especially considering it tasted so fresh! Chicken and fries were well seasoned and crispy. Chicken was almost a little too seasoned, but better than bland! Ambiance was a little lacking, it was pretty dark and we had to clean off the table before sitting. The biggest reason for not quite getting 5 stars is the cole slaw being pretty dry and having way too much pepper. I'm a big cole slaw so this was disappointing, even though it's just a side. This is, by far, is the best grilled chicken. Each and every time I come here, their chicken is tender, not too salty and tastes natural. Other chicken places are good, but sometimes too salty and the need for dips. Here, you get a dip, but it's not necessary as the Chicken is moist enough on its own. I adore their grilled chicken wrap. Always quick when I order inside or on their app and always accurate. The staff are super sweet and attentive, too. The bathrooms are clean, too. Huey Mcgoo's pleasantly surprised me! It reminded me of Raising Cane's, just with more variety on the menu. Let me explain. My family and I had recently moved to the area. After spending about two weeks in Centerville, we noticed there were main Huey Mcgoo's locations all around us. After doing some research and learning they had gluten free items, we decided to give it a try. When we're arrived, the parking lot didn't look super busy, which was a plus. We were able to get in line quickly and helped not long after. The young lady taking our orders was very efficient and handled my little sister's celiac well. She made sure to write it down and they even brought hers out before the rest of ours not long after ordering. We sat in the nice shaded patio area. I was very excited to dig into my meal, which consisted of fries, Texas toast, two breaded tenders, and a drink for just $6.45! It definitely reminded me of the chain Raising Canes, just with more variety and gluten free. We finished up quickly and our waitress came out and took our empty baskets once filled with golden tenders. We will definitely be back! Overall, Huey Magoo's is a nice chain restaurant that offers more variety than other restaurants of its kind. They have grilled tenders and gluten free fries for those who are celiac or follow gluten free. Relatively fast, good staff, and nice food. Be sure to check it out if in the area!
