I love this Piada!! The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are a great size! I love how open and spacious the interior is and how all the windows really make it a great feel while dining in. They also have a really nice outdoor patio that is super cozy with many seating options! Although I went in to order, I noticed this location also has an "Express Pickup" drive through option, which I will definitely use in the future! Plenty of parking options, as well. Lastly, I wanted to make special mention of how the team here went above and beyond for me and my group tonight!! Super friendly employees that felt like friends by the time I left. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at any Piada location. I ordered a create-your-own bowl, yet the employee immediately started making a completely different bowl before ever asking me what I wanted. She realized her mistake only after she had already started preparing it. It was frustrating, but I decided to let it go because I just wanted my food. While I was waiting to pay, my coworker was ordering. She simply asked to substitute an ingredient because she doesn't eat cheese--something she's done at this location before without any issues. Instead of trying to help, the employee immediately became argumentative and unprofessional. My coworker eventually said, "Never mind, I don't want the food." Instead of ending the interaction professionally, the employee sarcastically responded, "Good, have a nice day," and continued talking about us. Even after the manager told her to stop, she kept making comments loud enough for us to hear. What made the situation even worse was the manager's response. Rather than de-escalating the situation or addressing the employee's behavior, the manager defended her, blamed my coworker, and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. I hadn't argued with anyone. I was simply trying to pay for the food that had already been made for me. I asked if I could just pay and leave, but the manager refused to let me purchase my meal unless my coworker left first. When I asked if she was seriously refusing to let me pay for my food, she told me I wasn't getting it at all. So I walked out without the meal I came there to buy. As if that wasn't enough, after we left, the same employee was outside vaping, smiling at us, and making obscene hand gestures. That level of disrespect toward paying customers is unbelievable. The most telling part? We drove to another Piada afterward, and the employees there immediately recognized the manager we were talking about. That alone says a lot. This entire experience was embarrassing, hostile, and completely unprofessional. No customer should be treated this way for simply trying to order lunch. Management should be setting the standard for customer service, not escalating conflicts and allowing employees to behave disrespectfully. I won't be returning to this location, and I hope corporate takes this complaint seriously because this is not how customers should ever be treated. read more

Being new to Ohio, I've only had Piada a few times and every time, including this one, it's been amazing! I particularly enjoyed this location because of the super friendly staff! The food was very delicious with nicely sized portions. I felt like it was a good deal for the price. My favorite part of my experience was the staff and how they treated me and my family. I love the food, but on Dec. 10 around 7 pm, the manager did not have things together. It took over half an hour to get food for 4 people. One person on the food line must have been new, was working slowly, and no one appeared to be in control and get others to help despite a line of customers all the way to the first menu. The dishwasher wasn't keeping up. Cashier not helping get orders wrapped up, etc. Just a bad evening all around for whomever was supposed to be in charge. We really like Piada, but I cannot recommend ordering online! I can no longer eat gluten, but if you can, their Piadas are delicious! We ordered online and did a drive through pick up. Our food was packaged perfectly, love the new clever containers. The lobster bisque was very good! My Caesar salad was nice, but it was mostly just lettuce. Thankfully, I paid extra for chicken because I would have been disappointed. Lots of lettuce with generous chicken, but all the other things that were supposed to be in there were lacking. We like this small chain business, and applaud it's presence and growth in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan area. Our experiences are with the nearby Kettering location. Business may be very busy. We like that the wait staff's training is consistent, and is monitored by management. The training program is excellent and all staffers are eager to please. Fast Food - Italian seems to work at Piada's. Key are the several sauces, and all are well prepared. Tip: always request fresh pasta and not the old pasta. We like the salad and piada options, and we like the various protein toppings. Do not compare to Italy's restaurants. Long overdue to acknowledge that Italian-American cooking suit us better than meals when we are in Italy. My wife had several good experiences here so I was eager to check it out. The menu looked interesting and the fact that you could alter things real time as they prepared the order was appealing to me. I like a lot of vegetables in these sorts of things. Unfortunately the first visit wasn't as positive as I had hoped. It holds promise for me to see whether it was just a bad day for these folks or a bad mix of people working. That happens sometimes. But it was long after any lunch rush, so I can't chalk it up to that. In short, they stick my order to the side while they were waiting for chicken to be cooked by the kitchen. The young man preparing my order neither told me or the young woman ringing up the order what was going on. So she was a little rude when I asked for some vegetables to be added; she was put in a position in which she could not charge me for the additions but to her credit she did not make a huge deal out of it, realizing that it was not my fault. There were a few other things that I did not think were pleasant about the experience so this just amplified those. The list included dirty tables in the dining room, music way too loud in the bathroom, and too much sauce on the wrap (almost more than the fillings). I suspect that I will be back with my wife on another occasion. I hope it is better, at which point I will update this review. I ordered about 3 months ago and the cookie was missing from my order and I ordered double crispy frite and there were maybe 3 bites of chicken in there. I complained through the feedback. All I wanted was the money back I paid for the cookie and the extra chicken. The person who replied said they'd actually place a $25 gift card on my account. That really wow'd me because I wasn't expecting that. It never happened. Never. Not even after I emailed again to once again ask to have just the amount refunded that I originally was asking. This past Thursday I ordered through the app again. I asked for the diavolo to be on the side and had ordered extra or the double crispy fritte again. This time the diavolo was in with the pasta. Fine. I can get past that. However there was ZERO chicken in my order. None. This was going to be my dinner and my lunch for work the next day. It ended up in the trash. I was so frustrated. I realize I ordered later in the evening but there was almost an hour left until closing. If chicken wasn't available they could have held it to the side and asked if i wanted something else when it was picked up. I would have checked when I picked it up but I asked my husband to pick up because I had a migraine and didn't think to ask him to check. We care for his 90 year old aunt and by the time I opened it, they were already closed and it was too late to get back there. But you know what, nobody should have to waste their gas money to go back and get their food correctly made. It's honestly ridiculous that it's wrong every single time. Whenever I am in the Dayton area, we always find time to stop at Piada. I enjoy the chefs special calamari, cheese sticks, and garlic dough. My fiancé loves the create your own salad with grilled chicken. The ingredients are presented well and all look very fresh. This concept is hard to keep up with and clean the dining area with so many guests coming and going but piada perfected this. They seem to always have someone strictly cleaning tables. You can have a great salad where you pick your fresh ingredients or a piada which you can choose from a myriad of possibilities that is kind of a Italian burrito, or a bowl of pasta that is designed by you and your taste buds. Piada does it again! Different location, same great service. I stopped in this restaurant on Far Hills after craving the Piada Meatball (it's fantastic, definitely worth trying). Just like I experienced at another location, the meatballs are made fresh to order so I had to wait a few extra minutes. I was prepared for that and didn't mind. The staff was amazing; super friendly, they kept checking on me and making conversation throughout my wait. They even left a nice surprise in my to go bag that I discovered when I got home: a complimentary dessert of cannoli chips. Yum! This location is very slow. And we thought we would go during covid 19. So we went before 5 pm and no trays were ready so they had to get one and clean it. the patio has half the chairs blocked off and tied together. All the tables open to be used are visibly greasy which is not only gross because of the oil, but it's clear they're not being wiped down when there are strict regulations for covid. Kind of nasty! Worst part was the manager who apparently thinks this was ok as a large curbside order sat next to him getting cold till she got everyone out to go in and check (because someone to use the bathroom). Entered our order in line and still had to wait 45 min after I arrived at the pick up window. So I parked the car and went inside because the employee who first came to the window never came back to provide a reason for the long wait. As I entered the employee immediately said that my order still was not complete. In a tone that sent me over the edge. I just looked at her and wondered if she had any customer service training.
