Nothing I ate here was bad but nothing was particularly good. I didn't care for the bread they brought to the table as a starter. The taste and texture were off for me. It was dense and moist with a slightly sweet taste. Also, it was so pale, I couldn't help feeling the bread was undercooked. They serve it with butter that sits in a pool of strawberry sauce that is a combination of strawberry yogurt and sour cream, which I found weird. It did nothing to enhance the taste of the butter and I didn't like how it paired with the bread. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich, which was served on a croissant, and upgraded our side to onion rings. The chicken salad tasted fine, but was too heavy on the mayonnaise for my taste. First let me say that the food is all house made and flavorful. I got a cup of beef soup and it's definitely not from a can! All fresh cut vegetables. A large bowl is a meal to savor. The bread was yeasty and soft, delicious with that soup. My meal was the cheese stuffed pasta (large round ravioli) with shrimp. These weren't frozen; at least they didn't seem to be. The shrimp wasn't over cooked either, perfect. The sauce seemed to be a white wine reduction, not oily or greasy, very tasty and fresh. There was a drizzle of balsamic vinegar that actually worked with this dish and only enhanced all the flavors. Our waitress Melissa was courteous, friendly and attentive. The first time we went, the service was amazing. The woman was so nice and sweet. Very friendly and just wonderful. The food was just ok. The Fettuccine Alfredo was a little bland. The Chicken noodle Soup was pretty good. The BBQ salad with raw broccoli and egg was weird but good. Then we went last night and it was the complete opposite. The table next to us was being seated. First, the hostess gentleman was wiping down the table and setting the silverware - THAT HE JUST DROPPED ON THE FLOOR RIGHT BEFORE SEATING THEM WITH THE SAME SILVERWARE. We went along with our dinner, got our fried pickles WITH HAIR IN THEM! I was so grossed out I couldn't eat. Got the main course, couldn't eat it at all. The waitress just walked on by and took my plate at the end of the night. Still paid for the whole thing - don't mind paying for dinner at all. We order we pay. Overpriced for what you get. Overall we had a great experience. We appreciated being sat in the back room as we had two families with younger kids. It was nice knowing our kids weren't disturbing other guests in moments of toddler behavior. Our server greeted us with lovely housemade bread and butter with some sort of strawberry yogurt. We were unsure of this combo but so glad we gave it a try, you must as well! Amongst the table we ordered a burger, fish and chips, steak salad and a bowl of chili. Kids ordered typical kids meal fare. Everyone was happy with their dishes, the chili tasted a little sweet or meatloaf-y if that's a description. This is where I knocked off a star- the server brought our check while we were still eating without recommending dessert. Missed opportunity for her and a little irritating on ours. She came back a minute later asking if we needed boxes while we still had food in our mouths and asked if we could provide payment. This was not at closing time nor was there a huge wait. Long long wait prices are 25 percent higher then stated on line . Portions were good ,salad and main dish were brought at same time which just sort of overwhelmed me with food,when that happens I just can't eat at all so 25 bucks plus tip for some bread water and two bites of meal one of salad .........I will stick with the Ogden store when I can make it in there . read more

Over the last year we've ordered delivery a couple of times a week, able never gave these folks a chance - probably because of the odd name. BUT, since we tried them a few weeks ago, we're HOOKED! My fav is the French dip, or even better, the Prime Rib Dip! The mark of a really good French dip is tasty sauce. This sandwich is a tasty roll filled with tender beef, and accompanied by really good au jus. Mmmmmm! So far we haven't tried anything that wasn't really quite good. This place is a hidden gem. We've lived in Syracuse for almost 2 years and this was our first time eating there. Our server, Josh, was great. He understood Spanish and helped one of us getting the right order. It was a good serving size. Ribs were most excellent. My Turkey Avocado lettuce wrap was so good! This location is the second one I've visited with the first being in Ogden on Harrison Blvd. They have a variety of American selections. I've tried this location right after they opened and had a lukewarm experience. I decided before I reviewed them, I'd give them another chance after they'd had some time to get settled into a routine and polish off the edges. The service had greatly improved from our first visit and we were greeted promptly and seated at a much better table than previously. The restaurant is laid out a bit strangely and the tables are all rounded with the food coming out on square plates that don't fit well when you have ordered few items. Our second seating had a bigger table to the plates were not as big of an issue. The waitress was friendly and kept our drinks full. The food is ok, but not great. My meal was the Portobello Chicken with a grilled chicken breast that was scorched on one side. I could smell it when they set the plate down. I powered through and ate it because the sauce helped to mask the taste. The sour cream and cheese mashed potatoes didn't seem to have very much flavor. My meal came with a side salad that was very good and had great blue cheese dressing. My husband got the chicken fried steak which was better than my chicken but not really a wow factor there. This location is very popular and seems busy all the time. I'm not sure if we just got an anomaly both times we've come, but I cannot see coming back here. I so hoped this location would be great because we live nearby and there aren't any good sit down restaurants in our neighborhood. read more

Well, that certainly improved. When we first walked in we were quickly met and greeted. Led us to a booth, seated and then completely forgotten about for a few minutes. My wife and I were getting ready to walk out when our server showed us. I have to admit that everything improved after that. Our server remained on her game after that stumble of a start. Sad. I go to the hugs cafe in Layton all the time and love their salads. Went to the Syracuse location and it was not good at all. Had a peanut butter bar, salty and old. Had a shrimp salad with avocado and vinaigrette dressing. Watery dressing, tasteless shrimp and large large large lettuce. It's like they cut the lettuce head in 4 pieces and served it. Great food, a little awkward to eat and ok service. Their food looks amazing and tastes amazing but they sandwiches are TALL and thin when they slice them, making them hard to eat. And dont be fooled by getting a lettuce wrap substitute. It's a glorified head of iceberg lettuce cut in half with the fillings in between which results in ALOT of lettuce and slippage everywhere! My husband and I just moved to the area. We came here for our anniversary lunch the other day- simply because it was the only sit down restaurant in the area. We walked in and automatically loved the fresh vibe inside. The complimentary beer bread they brought out was amazing along with the strawberry spread they serve with it. We stopped in here on out way back feom a pumpkin farm nearby. It had a good rating on Yelp and the pics looked good so we gave it a try. We were very pleased! The food was delicious! Buffalo chicken sandwich and fried chicken salad. The bacon was thick and generous while all the food came out grill-hot (as opposed to heat lamp hot). The food on the tables around is looked good too. We appreciated the ambiance with carpets and high walled cloth coated booths, which cut down on the noise level. Our only complaint was that the drink menu and shakers were sticky and grimy, which was a huge turn off. Finally, the bread was great! Homemade style and delicious.
